I realize this is a french speaking channel, I apologize for the reply in English. I had a chance, while attending university at Texas A&M, to the remains of the wreck, which is being preserved at the conservation laboratories there. It was an amazing thing to be able to get close and see the process, and This is an excellent reconstruction!
your representation was most marvelous i just loved how every little detail was included and the fact that you built it in the order that it'd be built in in real life is profoundly appreciated👍
Breathtaking.......I have just bought my first wooden model boat (Bark Endeavour) and discovered it is intermediate to expert standard. Your beautiful film has certainly helped me to visualise how the whole ship comes together - thanks.
Very well done , a great deal of work has gone into this reproduction . I read somewhere that it took the wood from 3000 trees to build a large warship of this period . Seeing this I can well believe it .
To build the city Venice took 10 million trees! To support St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice, 1 million trees! That's why some parts of Europe, the forest still hasn't recovered yet!
Got to have been the most beautiful ship ever built Would love to have a sea going replica of La Belle ( but maybe not quite the same size as the real La belle ) The best ever
Someone ask for the type. She's a Brigantine, two square sail bearing mast with fore and aft mast bearing latine sails. She's merchantman. Her historical significance is that she was part of the fleet of La Salle, a French explorer who founded a small French colony on the Coast of Texas. It caused a diplomatic issue with Spain before being evacuated. The colony is part of why Texan say that "Six Flags" have flown over the state.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sail_plan#/media/File:Sail_plan_barque.svg ...there may have been a slight miscount on the masts there. @0:42 the 4th mast, the sprit topmast is visible, and the yard for the blind.
These workers then were truly artists and engineers!! Everything sawed, chiselled by hands...no power tools!! It took 7000 trees to build French warship "Le Soleil Royal"... sdtb.de/museum-of-technology/exhibitions/september/

is there a quick way to make side boards? or doy you have to make polygons for each. I tried to make ship in google sketch and it went well til it was time make sides on ribs.
don't make pieces that are identical individually... select one copy/paste. select those two and copypaste. select those four and... you get the idea ;)

Absolutely stunning. Amazing the engineering that went into the design of this ship, and also the craftsmanship to build it.
I admire the person who made this video too!

Great graphics and really good presentation. I am left with this overwhelming urge to build a model ship.

Outstanding animation of the construction...........great work!

Incredible work. Very impressive and informative. Thank you
What a really great model. I wish the ones I have made looked even partly like that.

Great work indeed. I only have a Question: The Gunports are hinged Sideways, but I have never seen this before. I'd be happy to lear more about this.

Awesome and inspiring! Would love to see the Masts, Halyards, and rigging though! 👍
And they did all that with no power tools! Amazing!

A question: only one deck is shown in the animation, were there lower decks too?
hello , La Belle is a small boat of 22 meters long.
It is a "barque longue" with only one deck.
Was not able to get any audio during the video. Graphics of the construction were outstanding except for the lack of audio.
That is a beautiful ship :)

that is sooo cool. Would it be possible for you to upload this video in a higher resolution?
A "Barque longue." This type was usually thre-masted and flush-decked. Smaller than later sloop of war or light frigate.
Such a great help for my 3D modeling process!!!!
Beautiful.
Fantastica veramente bella

very very cool, which programm did you use?
By the time of Louis 14. Some ships consumed around 2000 trees. . His minister colbert ordered to plant vast forests. Which are still alive in France
Projeto muito bonito, bem pragimato

oh man, i wish it would have been in english
So much wood...
Le falto sonido pero me gusto
You could realistically now send every single part of that model you built to a 3d printer and make 3d models.
perfect
Süper...
Guardar en galeria
you're building boats based on terrestrial creatures and they don't below in the sea!
