Hey look its me at 4:30 haha sweet footage man
Haha was wondering if you'd notice yourself ;)
Thanks lol!
Is he the one with the fire coat?
Aye!
WOLF SQUADRON Original yes
to all that are confused with the fleet showing up. it's because some trucks don't have the manpower or tools needed. like for NYC the send a Battalion Engine and a Ladder. Battalion calls the shots ladder blocks the affected road way off and engine works on the car. in L.A. some of the trucks are only so,well equipped for certain calls.
The hazmat and USAR rigs are usually cross staffed by the engine companies housed with them, so both rigs roll on an incident like this, hence the reason you see so many.
FB51 not only that but he can be trapped in area with hazardous materials
Impressive video! You caught more specialty units at one scene than some people find in a year.
Thanks! Haha yeah I got loads of specialist units during my trip in LA - not just at this one scene!
Awesome catch at the beginning of HazMat 105!! Very nice!
FairfaxFireBuffs that was one huge piece of kit the hazmat in Northern Ireland is nowhere near as big as that they are most likely a rigid, pump or a pod for a USAR prime mover
Thanks! I loved getting the new HazMat truck, it looks beast!
Is the hazmat 105 new?

Un
Gotta love that dodge interceptor!!
Hell yeah same!
Awesome video!! One heck of turnout. Love the way CHP looks!
Thanks! Yeah it was huge. Loving the CHP stuff, particularly the brand new Dodge Charger!
I can't wait till someone gets one responding on the highway or something.
That'd be awesome! I've got a CHP Ford Explorer responding in convoy with a fire unit on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Good response team and workers and great job to police and fire
Agreed much respect to them
Damn all that for 1 person . Imagine a mci . The whole state of Cali will show up
J Lopez I know right - crazy!
J Lopez I'm crying 😂
What's a mci
Amazing footage!
That is some fine vehicles L.A County have :O wow
Nice footage :) 👍
They sure do, don't they?
Thanks a lot!
When the hazardous material squad showed up on the scene I thought there was going to deal with very dangerous substances
There are never enough resources when it comes to victim removal it's like tools you don't know you need it until you need it LA county did a great victim rescue. They were ready.
Exactly. Always be prepared for the unknown!
L.A. must be boring, since literally everyone showed up.. twice lol
Or maybe L.A. is just so exciting that so many people show up? ;)
Hot damn what a scene! They sure send a lot of trucks to a technical rescue which is good for filmers like you LOL
Always helps when one person in the squad knows where he's going and has a car haha :D
Helll yeaaah! It was epic - we were in a nearby city called Hawthorne and kicked ass to the scene, hitting green lights and everything. We just missed USAR but got HazMat!
Great Video!
Thanks!
Just goes to show how many people are ready to save lives at all times. “All for one...”
I know right! What heroes.
Very nice video 😀👍👍 Thanks for the video, keep up the good work!!!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Good video, & audio quality also!!!!
Every time I pass by this train station I always remember this video.
LMAO Awesome Catches!!
=D
that is one thing I like about la county when throw a party they invite everyone it seems
Hawthorne with their beautiful police car skins
Man the trucks are neat, but I’m not really feeling LAFD’s bunker gear idk it’s just my personal opinions.
Michael Sao Pagan I hear ya they're nothing special but they get the job done!
Thanks for watching. Btw it's LACoFD (Los Angeles County FD) not LAFD 😃
I hear ya man, and oh I didn’t know now that i watched it again I saw it lol. thanks for the correction brotha.
Michael Sao Pagan My pleasure bud 😉
Michael Sao Pagan that's just because they are not at a fire
Michael Sao Pagan that's brush gear. Much lighter then structural gear
great catch.glad fb2 drove u there.im subbed 2 fb2
Thanks! Yeah a good buffer, love his channel.
Didnt know they still use Crown Vics!
Definitely. Still quite common in LA county!
What is it with Cali and steady burners?
It's a law that all emergency vehicles have a forward facing steady burn red light. It's a bit weird but you can see why, it's so that when responding there will always be at LEAST one light. As a photographer I know how when you take photos, a lot of the time a photo may miss all lights if they're flashing. If a photo is being used in an investigation, e.g. a collision, you will see at least one light.
It also means emergency vehicles must always have at least one red light on, so that some agencies can't try to get away with no lights or just wig wags.
CobraEmergencyVideos - North America Makes sense, thank you.
I pity that man's bank account after all the fines and medical bills he was issued, lol.
And I am loving this channel. I am so subscribed.
What bank account?? You mean the pocket change he got that day.... that he was probably going to use for drugs or booze??? By the looks of the action in the video that's exactly what he did with the money (all $3.50 of it), too. Because no one in their right mind would go near a freaking hole in the ground unless their were whacked out on something, or oblivious. To Hell with the fines, I'm more worried about how he got there without getting hit by a car first.
0:52 hey look a ambulance with q siren
5:40 Lol guy has Go pro on his helmet
He sure does haha. It's good for USAR to film their rescues for training and demonstration to other firefighters, other agencies and people/public who are interested.
LA really you need tow truck there
It's not a tow truck, it's a heavy rescue crane that can rotate. With someone trapped, yes, they needed it there.
@@Channel51_LA oh wow i thought it was a tow truck i was wrong.thank you for saying what it is :)
I guess LA's not a big fan of auctually turning there siren on to clear an intersection 🙄 they act like people are just supposed to see them and stop. Nobody pays attention to lights anymore you have to give them a auido alert😂
Haha well it depends. I've caught a convoy of LAFD trucks approaching an intersection and absolutely bombing the air horn before, a few times. I think because this wasn't 1st due or immediate they took it slow, all though personally I'd still given 'em hell ;)
Not so much the fire departments issue as its the general public for not wanting to move out of the damn way it happens all the time here in Eureka CA people fail to move their asses out of the damn way of first responders
Super trailer rescue truck American
Did urban search & rescue #103 respond?
0:14
That Fire truck is sexy!
HELL yeah!
where exactly was the guy. was he in a storm drain or something?
He was in a pumping pipe 30ft under the freeway
Not a place to be! How the hell did he get in there in the first place?
Didn’t know they had a rotator and how many ton is it
Good question, not sure but it's probably quite a bit.
Why all the apparatus? It's called "manpower". And expertise. And you never know.
Yeah a tow truck
USAR
Yup
Why would they send hazmat to an entrapment call? Also, LAFD has "meh" bunker gear.
Sewer pipe rescue and its LACOFD and thats just wildland gear
What happened there
90% of these units served zero purpose on this call
Manpower is why
What the F*ck would they need Ladders for when the man was trapped 30ft DOWN ..? Not UP 😕😕😕😕 DOHHHHH !! What a pure waste of Fuel and man hours.
The fire dept didnt save that homeless mans life the brush fire did if that brush fire never happened that homeless man couldve been dead
Bit of an odd thing to say. The fire department still saved his life. It's just the brush fire is what lead them to save his life ;)
If it wasn't for that brush fire, you're right, it may have been a fatality.
its just like in the torah. theres a story where i heard that moshe got bit by a venomous snake, and hashem (god) told moshe run to the lake and it will help with the bite. but while he was in the lake there was a man drowning and that moshe got the man and brought him out of the water and the man said thank you for saving my life. and then moshe said dont thank me thank the snake
Did he survive
Yes - with no injuries :)
Hi “non code-3” does not exist. Code 2 is the proper term.
Very true thanks for the correction
The term L.A. County Fire uses is "Code-R" . When the patient is transported as they were in the video, it's referred to as "Non Code-R".
how many cop cars were there ?
Alex Loadsman I counted about 3-5 in the video at least
It's hard to count as they kept coming and going.
3x CHP, 5x LASD (including the HazMat truck), 1x Hawthorne PD if I have that right which is actually about 9 cop cars.
Can anyone explain why such a huge fleet of firetrucks had to turn up to such an event? Who even called for backup like "We need twenty more guys to stand here looking at this hole! And they definitely have to bring their huge ass firetrucks and all fire fighting equipment herp derp!". Watching this just made me angry and depressed...
So on scene, there is USAR Task Force 103, Hazmat Task Force 105, Mobile Air Light 165, Light Force 170, and a single engine and quint. The huge fleet of Hazmat, USAR, and Light Force 170 all had barely any staffing on each truck but they are composed to be together in the sense of the tools needed. The amount of firefighters you have on scene is due to manpower, and it seems to be at the beginning of the incident where you see all of this, which understandable from a command standpoint, you need to asses the situation and already have that man power on scene if they are needed. If you noticed as the incident went, command started clearing out resources. USAR, Hazmat, and other personnel were much needed with their expertise to find out how they are gonna get the man out as it is not easy as pulling him but but you need to be concerned with his injuries and the risk that poses to the firefighters on scene when they go down that hole.
I don't even think there was a huge fleet of trucks - just several different specialist units for a specialist incident. Compared to how many units are in Los Angeles this is a tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny percentage.
SwedishMindwacker As an EMS professional in the Los Angeles area, this response was spot on according to LA Counties policy, procedure and protocols. There was any vehicle that showed up on scene from what I say that didn’t have an essential purpose for being there either. To finish I wouldn’t describe this as “huge fleet” either. The amount of units on scene don’t even make up the amount of EMS rigs my company has active everyday.
Here in the UK a couple of blokes would have turned up with a rope and a flask of hot tea! LOL!
why so many trucks a
haiden Ristau probably because it's such a difficult operation.
A tight space, deep drop - you need special teams to go down, you need teams to back them up, you need teams who have skills in urban search and rescue, hazardous materials and poor air quality. Plus you need medics for treatment and cops to investigate/maintain order. 😃
3:50 I'm amazed at how stupid some people are. I'll just keep driving into the police car.
Towards the world my friend without a heart
Km0
Why send Haz-Mat to the call?
They were trapped in a tight utility pipe - possibly hazardous substances in that pipe.
Overkill of resources for one person
So
Lill il
H LL ?
Why did they use that many vehicles for just one person? I bet they wouldn't do that for an animal!
A few years ago, a dog was trapped on an island in a flood control channel during a rain storm and LAFD sent a full rescue response, including a helicopter. If they hadn't done that, a civilian might have tried to go down and get the dog and they would have needed to be rescued themselves. Armchair quarterback all you want, but they know exactly what they're doing.
Overkill turn out much?
What a waste of resources for one man. Seriously LA why. How about not sending all the city responders. Only 2 fire trucks, 1 ambulance to transport, and 4 cops for traffic control. It’s not extremely serious to send entire fleet of emergency services. Incident commander need some re-evaluation for wasting so much time on sending senseless resources for one man
I do respect what the fire department does, but also illustrates just how busy most of these firefighters are.
who cares who showed up better all then non
All of these units arriving on scene have a specific task at hand. The Engine are generally for extra man-power, to help with moving equipment to the site. Urban Search and Rescue is on site to determine the best strategy of removing the patient from that massive hole. Hazmat Squad is on scene because who know's what kind of gases/chemicals are actually in the hole. He could of been breathing any mix of chemicals. Battalions (Chiefs) are on scene to command the rescue operations, and obviously Law Enforcement is on scene for traffic control. Sure, it's a lot of trucks. But if you take a second, and think of how complicated of a rescue that could of been, you'll need everyone who has that specific job set on scene to save that mans life. Why are you complaining about it? It's their job. Secondly, LA County, and LA City have a massive amount of resources. They have more than enough apparatus, and crew to continue operations as normal in the city/county areas. You wouldn't be complaining if you were stuck 30 feet in a hole.
ReJeCtDeViL thank you for giving these people brain cells. It's the least you could do.
Well said.
Imagine the bill he got!?
