@GR I have a video of a Hengst 90w25 coming out next month on Aug.20th and I'm booked up into September, so I can't promise anything but I'll put it on my to-do list.

@GR I didn't know it was so expensive for you guys in Canada, If I order this same filter it will cost me about $5.99 shipping with a 6.25% tax - 5% coupon code = $10.05

we should get more stuff made in poland because their craftsmanship is impeccable and they are a friendly nation not like china. but if they could only use a silicon anti-drain-back valve, that be a big improvement. I think it is a good filter, after all, thanks it was a great video.

Agree Bud. It's pretty cool to see an entrant from Poland in these oil filter battles. That filter media looked perfect.

Hengst are very popular in Europe, apparently with good reason. If you hang the filter vertically the adbv shouldn’t be an issue. If it’s horizontal and gets cold it might.

They are both nice filters but if I had to choose one I would pick the Hengst. I like the core better and the media is almost double the other. I am sure their valve works. Filters drain out anyway.

    Thank you for your video.
The Hengst looks to me a better filter, the media looks better, and more filter for filtration. The Baldwin beats the Hengst by the coil spring, the rubber, and the Base plate (by a thread).
If I had to choose I would take the Hengst over the Baldwin. Baldwin was disappointing for this application.
Thank you so much for all that you do. Get your hands dirty.

Not a bad filter, very well assembled, if your filter is upside-down the anti-drain-back valve shouldn't be a problem. But a silicone one would be better

Hey Oh WOW Thought Baldwin would be the better one but the Hengst I think one this one. Craftsmanship, material and the larger holes. Now what’s with flapper it’s thinner does it provide better flow. Nice video

Baldwin oil filters are made by the Baldwin Sisters from the TV show "The Waltons."

Unfortunately there is no real standard, exacting measurement for "nominal" vs "absolute" and the way it's applied varies from one source to another. In some cases nominal is associated with a 50% filtration rate at the stated micron size and absolute is associated with anywhere from 95% up to 98.7% particle filtration at the stated micron size. That is precisely why there has been a move away from using that terminology since it's just too vague, especially since it doesn't necessarily include or go by certain testing standards but can be only valid in a certain condition. The much more reliable rating would be based on ISO and Beta data. Oil filter manufacturers that are not embarrassed of their filters filtration rate will publish ISO4548-12 and/or ISO4548 test standard results. Oil filter manufacturers who do not want to post the ISO test results for obvious reasons will instead post vague, out-dated terminology and/or not even publish any filtration rate testing results and instead just hope that the "looks" of their oil filters will be enough to convince people to buy them because they look "tough" regardless of how well they do or don't actually filter out contaminants. The truth is, it's actually quite possible for a cheap oil filter with fiber end caps, a plastic e-core, and a leaf-spring to do a much better job at trapping sub-30 micron contaminants than a pricier filter that has steel end caps, steel core, and a steel coil spring. If an oil filter manufacturer intently uses obscure definitions and/or does not publish reliable fitration rate data (filtration % @ micron size as per ISO testing) you can bet there is a reason why, and no, it's not because they are "secretive", they wouldn't have to be "secretive" if their test data was any good because that would actually be a selling point for their product! "Looking tough" means next to nothing when you have no idea what percentage of contaminants that particular filter is trapping/blocking and at what micron size. Unfortunately so many people don't know any better and just fall for the "but it looks so tough/well made" deception.

    • @WhipCityWrencher
      @WhipCityWrencher  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the feedback.
Most people fall for the tough made is better because most of the time it's true.
People cant see micron ratings, but they can surely see the construction of an oil filter when opened up.
      Thanks for watching!👍

Let us hope there will be more things made in Poland. A lot of people don't know, but Poland now is a different country than back in the day. Democracy brought to Poland all kinds of foreign investors. There is now an Aqua Park in Reda that is full of visitors. It's the second such park in the world. Another one is in China. They have all kinds of dinosaur parks, and other theme parks. The south of Poland has elbow to elbow of visitors from all over the world. Beautiful mountains there. I would not even go there in the summer. It's too packed. I hope to go there next May for a longer vacation than in the past.

These filters can't fit the same vehicles. The Baldwin has a M20x1.5 thread and the Hengst is a 3/4-16. The Baldwin filter that is comparable to the Hengst would be B33.
