Impeccable Interpretation !! 0:01 At 71, I grew up listening to their albums. Who ever bought it, immediately calling friends to listen to it. Your rendition made me remember those days. Congratulations EC
Again, another flawless rendition of a Lake baseline. I'm a guitar player who just noodles around, without a quarter of your talent, but I do know great playing when I see/hear it. Most people know of the sound and tone that different guitarist can attain due to their technique and "feel", but most don't realize that same acumen goes for bassists as well. You are the closest to Greg's sound that I've ever come across! Thank you once again Brian for bringing Lake's playing to what a new generation(s) will discover and get them interested in what the awesome music from my youth was like back in those golden years!
That part is a lot trickier than people realize. And Greg Lake is a truly extraordinary musician. I find it easier to play on the ADG strings at the 7th, 13th and 8th fret. (Which is the way I believe he does it). The way you're doing it requires a finer touch, and you nailed it. Well done.
You know I can't believe you didn't send me a comment thanking me for the nice compliments I paid to you on your response to those two troll podcast guys I think that's a little rude especially being since I've never seen you but I still try to be friends with you through the comments section and that we have so much in common in a musical Sensibility😮
excellent! Greg has always changed the way he plays it over time, expecially tones of years. I chose the pattern that I liked most and the final product is a mix of Greg's bass lines of Eruption and Stones of years. Obviously in Keith's solo in Stones of Years, the bass line follows the rhythm and the variations of the keyboard
Yes he's up there with Chris squire j o n camp Stanley Clarke John wetton and some of the others😮 his strongest point is his singing which is awesome and legendary😮 I call Greg Lake the male version of Annie Haslam from Renaissance😊
Hi Brian. You are playing so close to the original that I can't tell if it is you I am hearing or you and the original. Did you mute the Greg Lake part at all or are you playing on top of it. Excellent job either way. 😊
Hi and thank you for the great comment. I'm just playing over the top of the original, with my bass slightly higher than everything else. So, I would say that 80% of what you're hearing is me. Thank you again.
Really appreciate and enjoying your videos. Inspiring. You're definitely a talent. Love how versatile you are (finger, pick, slap etc). Excuisitely tight and great tone. Also enjoying your range in genre's.
@@captainchunk4078 It spans 35 years, but I didn't play bass at all for about 15 years, got caught up in life. So, more like 20 years. I'm self taught as well, just started zoning in on the bass from bands like Maiden & Rush and it naturally went from there.
@@ralgex Tell me about it.... one of my three "piece de résistance" on bass... ELP "Tarkus", King Crimson "Lark's tongue in aspic part II" and Dixie Dregs "I'm freaking out".
Thank you, I appreciate that. I love using the pedal, especially for compression and some tone shaping. I usually use the overdriven part on anything Rush really; does a great job of cutting through the mix. Thanks again.
@@ralgex Hi Brian, thnx for the reponse. I have one, I have to use Boss Suppression pedal. It's noisy as fuck.. I just recorded this: ua-cam.com/video/E9qc_WLNRMA/v-deo.html
@@RSTI191 Yeah, I have to use a noise gate whenever I'm recording with that pedal also, super noisy if you have pickup buzz. Your buzz seems outrageous though, almost sounds like an electrical issue.

Excellent 👏🏽 This proves that Greg Lake was an outstanding musician for sure. Absolutely sensational bass line !
Much appreciated, thank you so much!
Wouldn't Keith given Greg the bass line and Greg simplified it.
Amazing......incredible bass line and you nailed it!

You nailed Greg's tone and style
This song can never have too much bass. Good job.
Thank you!

Wow, you are very good and I really love that tone !!
Thank you!
Greg's 'problem' was that his bass was so often written as the bass note of the keyboard chords, and so becomes 'invisible.'
where did you find this source? I am actually curious
@@verunaokumura4836 - Several reaction videos that integrate the written music with the music as played (mostly studio).
Nice job! That piece is a metrical maze. Love it!
Insane! That first part is killing my right hand!
Keep rocking that bass! 🤘🏻
Greg Lake was a monster in the bass.
Amazing finger work. Everything was spot on.
Thank you, almost destroyed my left hand lol

FABULOUS , Thank you Sir Brian !! Very impressed !!
