for as fun and quirky and catchy as their music is,.... the level of sophistication in arrangement, time signatures and bass lines is at another level, very talented guys..... great job in the recreation of the part.......
That sounds more complex and challenging than any funk bassline I've heard. I'm going to love and hate learning XTC's songs. You play this like you own it.
For sure! I dig this bassline a lot but, I'm just beginning and seeing how complex shows that it's wayyy out of my league for now. Always amazed at musician's arrangements.
Great band, great song and great bass cover. You got it like nobody else on YT. You're in it, you got the pace, the picking and the sound. Great job. Thank you.
I can play the verse riff for exactly as long as the song needs me to and not a note more - my left hand is usually begging me to stop by the end. You make it look flawless. Love the tone, too.
@@ralgex lots of info about XTC songs composing, arranging and recording on that book. Recommended. What you'll surprisingly find out, the bass line is Andy's not Colin's, even tho Colin played it.
J'adore ce groupe, j'adore cette chanson, j'adore cette ligne de basse et j'adore ton boulot. Superbe !! I love this band, I love this song, I love this bassline and I love your job. Great work !!
Superb bassline from Brian to mirror Colin's original score. But I've always thought that XTC also needed a less melodic, more rhythmic bassline to augment Colin's inventive 'lead' bassline style, especially on some of the funkier numbers. On some of the tracks, the overall bassline comes across as a bit thin. Does anyone else get what I'm saying?

I love this bass line; it's perfect to grab my attention! Bought the album back then just because of this ...and also "Pink Thing".

I'm sweating with this line right now. Nice job, man.
Thank you haha.
I watch this constantly, bravo!
Tremenda line de bajo. Que alegría encontrar gente de habla hispana que escuche estas cosas. Buenísimo loco!
Gosh damn this is such joy to watch. Fuckin awesome job.
recently found out that the bass outro line is the backing vocals line, slowed down (Andy Partridge's inteview on Complicated Game book). Insane
Never would have realized it, thanks for pointing that out!
