If you want something permanent, don't ever use hot glue on a piece of leather. It won't last long.
I used denim, and two sided interfacing instead of glue. It turned out fantastic.
I liked it alot also it is very easy to follow .. but I prefer sewing more than the hot glue for long lasting bag :*

Why are people using hot glue for this sort of DIY?? It will fall apart after a few days. If you want something durable, sew it. It's not that complicate.
Kathleen B. I do agree and if I make this I would just add some stitching to it to make it stronger because hot glue is not durable

Totally agree. I will definitely sew it as hot glue won't last. Another tip would be to add the two side pieces to original pattern rather than add later. Any small items will just fall out at the bottom. BUT I really like the idea and appreciate the share - Well Done!
I know right? I've seen so many different DIY videos using glue for bags & wallets that I'm done whit them.... tbh if you change the material for a felted fabric it will last for a long time but will look horrible & be super hard so either way it's a no no

It is beautiful but I’m wondering why you wanted to waste so much of your materials. If you put your pattern on the edge of the leather or felt, you could cut enough for two bags, rather than throw away all those scraps.
Great project, especially for repurposing old bags that have seen better days ...but ...I cringe when I see crafters using hot glue on projects. It is not the glue to use when you want your project to last, it becomes brittle and the item will come apart. Use it for speed ie to hold two sides together whilst waiting for a secondary adhesive to take hold or in the case of this project, sewing would be better.
I agree that hot glue might not be the best adhesive but re: sewing, I think this project was intended for people without sewing machines.

Why are u using hot glue, that will create ridges that will affect the final product. I would suggest using a fabric or tack glue, not something that dries quickly if you don’t apply the other piece fast enough.

Nice but if u would have stitched it ..it will be amazing
1 - that glue will not hold long. 2 - where ever the glue is will be hard and the rest too soft. 3 - why glue it all then put on metal hardware, seems weird. The suggestion below about iron on fusible is much better. It will hold. this glue stick idea is nuts

I like the idea, just wondering why the bag was in two pieces? I also don't think glue is very durable. Have you made this before with glue and if so how long where you able to keep it?

Isn't this left with gaps in the side/bottom at the folds? It didn't appear to be sealed so change would fall out

Really nice!! I love making bags and purses out of faux leather but I sew them and then often faux leather rips especially at the handles. But maybe try glueing now ?!

Sorry but that thing isn't going to last too long. Hot glue is rubbish. Why wouldn't you just sew it?
This purse is for just looking at. Can't be used. You cannot glue gun a rivet and then use it later. It will come off.
It comes out nice but the process seemed sloppily made.
It's beautiful but my OCD was triggered you wrote "NO GLUE" on the leather.
