On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8. - Ігри

"Yes."

"What do you mean everyone?"
"EVERYONE."
"You thought that airfield was flat BEFORE, just you fucking WAIT!" - Grandpa Buff when the bois leave the tarmac
thanks to buff, we can enjoy visiting another death valley.
Na that is not flat no more. It is a lunar landscape renovation
These always drop at the perfect time. just got home from a shitty day at work, but then GS drops a new vid and the eavening is saved
Me TOOOOO!!!!!
Same as me thank You GS
TRUEEEE
I can’t remember a day at work without shit! But we have this channel to go on!
👍
11:17 - Lonely MiG-29 manages to survive the onslaught. 😆
he was killed at the start
and 5 others on the same row
In another world, that’s the MiG that GS is flying as his airfield is being destroyed 😂
nobody brings the hate like Grandpa BUFF
There goes Grandpa Buff changing the topography again
@@Ankhobo😂
@@logicplague2077 yeah but that's just simulated meat.....
I was just thinking that someone at that airbase must have touched our boats.
This is what Grandpa BUFF means when he's unalived more people than cancer. 😅
I so appreciate the attention to detail in the sound design and music timing when showing us the cinematic aftermath. It really does feel impactful and I know it takes a huge amount of work to do. Thank you!
My pleasure it’s extra worth it when some people like yourself recognize it. Much love.
It’s always fun times when grandpa Buff has to come rearrange peoples topography.
I love how Habitual Linecrosser's characters have entered the vernacular. Love Grandpa Buff!
GS paid extra attention the day they covered the victory roll in flight school. 👍
I am loving these bomber missions. Boss energy having 16 BUFFS making it rain steel! Hornet is a jack of all trades. Love that jet.
"So how many bombs we dropping on this airbase?"
"Yes."
"How many bombs should we drop on the the air base?"
"Yes."
now, add a carrier and a tanker on your way into the AO and you have a all-in-one Hornet training mission 😃👍
I just love this aircraft!
Man, no one ever really thinks about the cost of war. Like, those B-52s can carry something like 80klbs worth of ordinance at an average of about $10k per 1000lb bomb and it looked like there was about 15 of them so roughly about $12mil for that bombing run alone (not including the costs of each plane). Then on the bombee's side, that was a significantly sized base with something like 25-30 Mig 21's and what looked like maybe a handful of Mig-29s (we'll say 10). Mig-21's are surprisingly cheap, I think they're around $500k each so that's $15 mil roughly for those and then Mig-29s are roughly $20mil each so that's $200,000,000, and that's not including the costs of rebuilding that airfield.
Almost a quarter of a billion dollars all lost at ONE airbase.
Don't forget the $5-6 million worth of ordinance the Hornet used too.
MiG-21s were 2mil in 1974 which is 12mil today, so it would be 360mil dollars worth of fishbeds.
@@ethanandresen8794 But airframe value deprecates over time. The MiG-21 is over 60 years old and 3 generations out of date. $500k is actually overstating it - a quick google search turns up an article that says ~$250k, and apparently a Chinese guy recently bought one for _$25k._
GS did a video like that a while back when he had a BVR in a Su-27 against a F-16. Altogether, a single engagement cost nearly $38 million between the U.S. and Russian.
@@logicplague2077 probably at least $3
Notification : *Growling sidewinder uploads a cinematic looking vid*
F-18 : yo pilot we got a new growling sidewinder vid on BRA 234, 23, 8000m.
The B52’s leveled that airfield. I can’t imagine how intense that would be living in that city watching the whole airfield get blown to pieces.
i love the hornet, i hope to be able to fly the super hornet irl someday when i join the navy. my life goals
rooting for your success pal! we hope to see ya one day soaring the skies, and hopefully i'm gonna not be on the receiving end :P
10:55 man, that’s a lot of democracy delivered!
Got to hear a real B52 strike in Vietnam in 1970. 54 years later I can still "hear" that sound.
Heard them on the range at Ft Sill in the 90's. Even that far away it was crazy.
I used to live near Wright Patterson Air Force base in Ohio. Lots of cool aircraft coming and going - but one day a flight of 3x B52's cruised over my area. Still to this very day has to be one of the scariest and most impressive things I've ever seen. The sound was haunting.
Great mission. Awesome display of the Hornet's versatility.
10:43 Murica!
Thank you I was gonna post that :D
@@knndyskful All your oil are belong to us!
I was a Forward Air Controller in Vietnam, flying Birddogs. I have seen many B52 strikes go in. The simulation does not do justice enough to the power of one of those strikes. Just amazing to watch-and very grateful I was not down there on the receiving end!
B-52 Wing Commander: Do you see that airbase?
B-52 Flight Lead: Yes sir.
WC: I don't want to.
FL: *Grins in BUFF* Yes sir!
Love you bro, thanks for the amazing content, always makes my day when I see you’ve posted!
Appreciate you brother, much love.
F-18 multi role solo mission are always the best
VFA-122 “Werewolves” paint job on that Hornet!! Awesome!!They where the “Crusaders” then went back to that name and now they are VFA-122 “Flying Leathernecks”
Awesome. The BUFF will see its 100th birthday before they are retired.
Just love it when my 11 years old son calls to inform me your new content is up.
Love the F18 super hornet good plane only seen it once while on active duty in Camp Lejeune
Thank you GS, you make my day! Every day I come home from school and watch one of your videos.
solid f/a-18 demo! a really versatile plane
Anyone else who can't play DCS because of computer specs, but watches GS instead

I love seeing the good guy win 🥇
Sometimes life gets you down, but then Growling Sidewinder posts a new video and life seems ok again. Love your content man
"Go ahead, THINK about touching our boats. We'll be back."

GS is now over half a million subscribers which it great to see. Good going!!

I love that you always include some extra story footage in videos like the close up impacts of the HARMs, the scrambling MiG-21s, and the process of converting an air base into the Holey Land.
nothin like sittin down in the kitchen and getting chips and salsa and watching these amazing videos made by a very talented and amazing person!

There we go again with a nice start of the evening with a GS video :)
GS, you spoil us with your dedication and effort. Not to mention your piloting skill.
That one Mig-29 that managed to survive will come back for revenge GS, watch your back 😅
I love the missions. Keep 'em coming.
Classic Classic Hornet mission!
Hey GS, this is absolute BANGER of a video, everything from start to finish was just PERFECTION! Keep it up dude!
appreciate you greatly, much love.
@@GrowlingSidewinder aye! You too!
Proud to say we have the CF-18 up here as our jet. We also got a few F-35's. Not bad eh? Great vid as per.... Keep with the themed missions! 🇨🇦🍻🇺🇲
My OIC was a tail gunner in one of those when he was enlisted! ( long time ago) one of the best officers I ever met!
This just made my day, thanks so much :)
Uploading the mission is a huge addition I don't think you usually do, always wanna try out your scenarios!
I think Hornet is pretty cool guy. Eh drops bombs and doest afraid of anything.
All you need is one lone Marine Werewolf Hornet and a bunch of Buffs! 😆
Keep up with the mission videos, they rock!
these type of videos are the absolute best please make more of these mission style videos
So much freedom delivered by those B-52’s! These videos always make me wish I had joined the Air Force like I originally planned. Oh well, too late now
Murica needs to give da Krains some B-52s!
Another great video to add to the list !
How much ordinance would you like to drop on the enemy?
B-52's: YES
Sweet Mission!
Awesome videi guys. You never dissapoint!
Didn't even have to drop the aux tank.
Remember, once you're winchester with Magnum, they can't call any penalties on you. It's that old saying, "No HARM no foul"...
The Red Devils paint job would’ve been perfect as they JUST finished Cope North 24 and we had a couple B-52s out there
Would a HARM be able to lock onto a slow moving aircraft's radar?
Fantastic 👌🏼
What a name for the video, Rain 🌧️ of steel...........
! Great for a movie 🍿.
Those BUFFs dropping Freedom Skittles all over that airbase. Taste the rainbow.
Much love as always GS. I respect the consistency of your uploads dude, I ALWAYS have a new video to watch at work. Just wanted to say good job and keep up the good work❤
Thank you very much, appreciate you greatly. All the best.
Excellent graphics
Werewolves? there, there wolves.
The sensors in those helmets are sooooo sick.
I love the ending with the Battlefield theme
A more likely BUFF formation would be three cells of three in trail, ensuring the entire airfield complex is covered from end to end. Remember, an Arc Light strike of three B-52s could saturate an area the length and width of the Mall in Washington, DC, from the Washington Monument to the Capitol.
jack of all trades, master of none....though oftentimes better than a master of one...!
imagine if the f18 was a mach 2 + aircraft 🤤
SO. EFFI'N. COOL.
You aren’t technically wrong. JDAMs are just dumb bombs, like mark 82, modified with a GPS kit.
ya, just felt the need to provide some clarity before the "internet experts" had a field day with it
@@GrowlingSidewinder that’s fair.
Nice mission
I love these bro plz do more ❤❤❤
Complete satisfaction 😏
Over 50+ years and the B 50 twice is still a threat.
A fun one for a change.
escorting Grandpa Buff across the street to Wack a bunch of baddies... you've earned a scout badge for that one. ^~^
Still no howl when you are driving. Weird. AI got there a few videos ago. Long time viewer. Great content, bud! Thank you.
A job well done....but I hate to see al those beautiful MiG-21s turned into charred scrap! 😁
Would love to see a British F-35 in an air to air mission (gun pod, internal Meteors, and wingtip ASRAAM’s)
Great video...👍
The hornet really is a beautiful aircraft. If they had given it a little more powerful engines, maybe it would be the best fighter ever built
Apparently if you are concerned about a hornet having to land with live ordinance you can help by sending a couple of mig 21s😂
Gotta love a B52 run!
Time for some steel rain.
Shock and awe😂
I love this display of the Hornet's capabilities, sweet video dude. Are you looking to do a high AoA fight with the Hornet after the flight model updates? I'm keen to know your thoughts on the changes.
Awesome
Aaaah..... The BUFF.... When you want to send the very best....and lots of it.
So many BUFFs for such a little airfield. Wow.
To change the course of history, one man in the right place at the right time is sufficient.
To change the course of geography, send the Buff.
Man those high off boresight shots are redic.
10:28. Here comes the rainnn!!!
