Healthcare delivery is a complex and high-cost endeavour. Clinicians and health care researchers constantly strive to find the best available treatments and procedures to improve health outcomes. However, there is a large body of evidence that supports the idea that the process of delivering healthcare can also impact patient outcomes. Process mining offers tools to better discover, analyse, and predict clinical processes using routinely collected data. In this talk I will provide an overview of process mining and its applications to healthcare, the results of current research in the use of process mining to improve healthcare delivery, and possible research agendas in this topic.
The Centre for Digital Transformation of Health advocates for the movement towards connected health and runs fortnightly public lunchtime seminars on Thursdays between 12-1pm.
The Centre supports co-hosting seminar arrangements with The University of Melbourne and its partner organisations. Seminars may be held at a different venue, or on an alternative day and time in order to accommodate guest speakers or to promote jointly hosted events.
