Thank you for your explanation, but can a GR5 base and a Hyper v Rover work together?

Yes, as long as the radios match. If they are both 915SS, or UHF (450-470mHz) should be able to just match them up. Both use Digital II boards so should be able to work together.

What are the difference in the mW
And why would u use a Lower mW for certain situations ?

The mW is the milliwatt setting of the transmit radio. So the Hiper VRs are 1- watt radios. With these radios at 1 watt you can usually get 1-3 miles of range. This range is nice, but it's also the main draw of the battery of the base station. So if we have a very small jobsite it may be beneficial to decrease the mW output of the radio to increase battery life of the base station.
