- The Breville tea maker is THE MOST expensive tea maker I have ever found! This machine is crazy and might not be right for me but could be the best next addition to your setup!!

LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
This video should be titled “Coffee Drinker reviews a Tea Gadget”
Okay😂😂
Poorly
To counter your arguments
1. It’s for serious tea enthusiasts. Don’t pay that much for couple of cups a year
2. They make a smaller one for just that
3. You drink coffee and many coffee drinkers like their tea to have a strong acidic after taste. Most tea drinkers consider that a ruined cup. So of course it won’t have settings a tea drinker would hate.
4. Spoon works just fine if you know what your doing. Cut open a tea bag and see if it fits.
5. Had one since 2014. Lid has never come off. It happened to a friend but it was operator error
I bought cause I never could get green tea correct. If your adding a minute on your probably overstepping it.
How do you measure properly with the spoon? Agree with everything btw!!
I thought about getting one of these, for a very long time. Sure, it's not complicated to make a pot of tea, but the thing that sold me, was the "keep warm" function, that regular tea pots, of course, do not have. I like my second, or third, cup of tea warm, without any hassle. In the scheme of things, this is worth the money. Life is too short, to have lukewarm tea, and no, I don't like my tea reheated in a microwave.
The lid on the basket should never pop off when the basket is submerged. You should hear a click when you put the lid on properly. That locks the lid and keeps it from coming off while submerged. The lid on my Breville Tea Maker has never popped off while submerged.
Got mine for 175 euros. For that price its absolutely worth it.
Honestly fair deal kind of worth it
Thank you for your review, and I found it to be VERY helpful!
Yo thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it!!!
I’ve had mine for 9 or 10 years and I love it. I never used the spoon though lol. I also haven’t had an issue with the lid popping off.
Love mine
I definitely love the product. I have the compact one which fits a little more but has its own cons. I think it works for either large groups or one person. Like I’ll make tea in the morning for enough to fill my hydroflask and it just makes it quick and easy so I can get started quickly.
I’ve definitely had the problem of measuring teas for the right amount of flavor, especially considering different teas are different. I usually make about 16-20 oz of tea in my hydroflask and use two table spoons for good flavor. Definitely would not (and have not) used the spoon it came with (I actually didn’t get it in my box lol)
I will definitely say your final assumption on the product is very spot on. Great for tea drinkers who drink tea constantly through their day (I like to have tea throughout the whole day) but it’s definitely cheaper to just go the tea pot/gongfu method.
Super detailed and fair review of this product, thank you for this!
Thanks for the feedback! It’s great to hear you enjoyed it as a tea drinker!
It's interesting how my only main complaints weren't raised at all. 😆 I found your complaints to be really odd. Eg you say it's huge but it's not! Have you seen the majority of the other electric kettles out there?! It takes up very little space. I wish it held more tea water! But my complaints:
1) I don't see why such an expensive machine should have any plastic touching the water. Should be all stainless...that's a no-brainer.
2) again you talked about how large it is. Serious tea drinkers won't mind that. What bothers me is that while we can fill it almost to the top for just boiling hot water, for actually making tea we can't fill it very full at all. I drink a lot of tea and don't want to go through it so quickly and that's when there's NOT another family member or two also trying to get in on my tea action! When 2 others want some, I'll often only get one large mug of tea per brew. Sure there's plenty if everyone only uses tiny little china cups.
3) Finally, I don't like that it only stays warm for a little while. I'd like the option of keeping it warm for two hours or longer because 2/3 of the time I'm drinking herbal! Herbal doesn't turn bitter. I drink herbal to keep my water intake up for health and diet reasons because 8 glasses a day of plain water just won't do. I also drink it to relieve stress cause it's so soothing. So yeah, really wish that one hour long (?) staying warm feature were a bit longer. Having said that, heating it up again by pressing the water button happens much much faster than it would on the stove so I just press that button and wait about 30 seconds and it gets it warm enough again.
The scoop is handy for many many smaller ground teas. The fact that it's the wrong size for really bulky tea is silly - just add more. That's not Breville's fault if someone can't make such a reasonable deduction! Or blame the tea company that says a bulky tea only needs one tsp if it clearly needs two per cup!
I've had mine for several years now and the machine continues to work flawlessly. The writing doesn't rub off, it brews as fast as ever, and my lid has never ever popped off nor could it. I also love the feature that allows me to have it ready in the morning. Not for tea (I drink coffee first thing) but for water for my teens so that when they get up they have hot water for instant oatmeal and tea should they decide to pop a tea bag in a mug of hot water while they make their breakfast (I keep loose tea and tea bags on hand).
Thanks!
Had one. Son broke the pitcher. Yay for kids and not having nice shit. I loved mine.
Is there a tea maker other than this breville that you recomend? Thanks!
This is the real question. If this tea maker is not worth the money, then what high-end tea maker is worth it?
Thanks for the review that is more balanced. You convinced me to buy it :D lol. The only con that hit home was the size, the others I didn't mind (I'd never have used the spoon anyway, would have immediately chucked into the drawer). Also good sound and production values.
Yo thanks I’m glad you found the review helpful! I don’t hate the device but for the price point it seems like it should do more
@@JoshMarsh2 On the flip side, coffee people would feel its ok for a coffee machine to have a drip coffee machine, much simpler, to cost that much if it made a great cup of coffee. Or just a grinder, which is just a motor in terms of function.
What is wrong with my machine it blinks basket button
Oof that’s a great question that I don’t have an answer too
i love it
That’s great! I was hoping some people would. I just don’t make enough tea to be worth it for me. But it’s a great product
I don't like the plastic idea :( I think it's toxic to use plastic and hot water.
There are tons of lookalikes. For waaay less.
I personally have the Hamilton Beach kettle thats exactly like the Cuisinart kettle.
It's great if you're a serious tea person. If you just drink an occasional basic cup, a more basic electric kettle will do just fine.
Most of your negatives are off. One I do agree with is the keep warm. Doesn't hold at best temp and it also the setting times out after an hour or so. I'd prefer if it could hold it at temp longer.
Mines always need to be reset
.I'll let it sit upside down for over 48 hours & sometimes it doesn't reset
.
I just scored this a Goodwill 😊and came here to see how people felt about it. I think this should be reviewed by people who drink tea on the regular… anyways thank you for the review. I’m going to give it a thorough cleaning and try it out.
Damn Goodwill? lol
caffeinated not just coffee lol. Loved the video, although it was a little long for a review!
I know. I even shortened it lol
just speed up the video and watch in half the time
Try the Vianté tea maker
I was looking into that. Do you think it's better?
Did you even read the manual, I don’t think so, because your cons aren’t accurate.
Thank you for your insightful reply lol
Easily you can buy the small one for $80
Years of happy customers disagree with you, slugger.
Lol thanks for that random take. It’s called an opinion for a reason lol
Too much talk, get to the point and demonstrate that tea maker
Mine works great! Too bad you suck at tea.
