Been listening to Alice Cooper for 52 years. He always surrounded himself with the best musicians in the world and this album is no exception. From a first listen, this is on par with any of his best albums. Mindblowing, spine-tingling rock n roll. Superb songwriting and arrangements and musicianship, and his voice is as good as ever! Mindblowing that 58 after he and Dennis Dunaway (bassist, background vocalist and co-writer) joined forces, they are still rocking this well and this hard!!
Yes , there is that true human character of him that comes through the fun theatrics of lifes true realities in his song lyrics...my personal philosophy is that nobody needs a therapist..they need alone time with good music and a glass of alkaline water.

Absolutely brilliant album definitely one of his best. Love wonderful world! Keep on rocking Coop!! Don't ever retire!! Isn't he just the to Prime cut of beef!! U gotta love him!! What a voice & so sexy with it. Stunning!! Best musician there is out there I reckon & none of that lip sinking crap! I've been 2 see his show 10 times first in 2000 brutal planet show. & last time with the vamps which were terrific but didn't do poison which is my face track. I've got every album on CD & most on vinyl. My kids don't understand why I still play CD when I got Bluetooth on phone but I think it's like reading a book rather than audio book I like the physical act of choosing a CD putting it on then changing it kids today don't get it !! Lol hope Coop tours again in England soon!! Miss him!! Hoping 2 get backstage pass! Last time I met him in 2007 I have him a cheeky kiss on the cheek! Not many people can say they missed the Coop!! I did! He said "don't tell my wife!!" . He's such got stuff! What a voice & so sexy with it! Love him 2 death! ! 😍😜 long live day Coop!!

Nobody rocks like Alice, and this may be the best album we have gotten from him since the Alice Cooper Band days!!! The album has everything, Blues, Rock, and Punk performed by Alice and a list of guests that put Detroit on the map, so there is a ton of nostalgia, but every song is a banger in its own right!
This may be the last real 100 percent Rock and Roll album ever made, and because it's Alice, I am oddly okay with that...

Personally I had a great year 2020 start to finish it was a roller-coaster- ride throw your hands in the air and kiss your cares goodbye.
If you are thinking that was a all time low then the world is gonna give you a heck of a reality check as modern society bottoms out like a ten dollar hooker on rent day.
God loves all his children and your no exception unless your oppressing the weak, the powerless or the downtrodden cause in that case new lows around the corner, gonna help you get there myself.

However if the 2o2o experience is considered the worst experience known to mankind then you'll be disappointed sorely when the annuals of history open up to refute wholeheartedly the notion 2020 is bad as it could get.
Not even close and with hard work and due diligence we will never live to see such cataclysmic eventualities.

This album is solid give it A- . Last song reminds me of Gloria! Solid Album Alive blends his expected songs with some blues, Motown, Rock a Billy , Balls to wall Rock.

At 73 Alice releases another in my opinion brilliant album!!! Fresh, direct and honest. Just comparing with the mainstream bullshit where you see singers singing the same old songs re-mixed, re-edited or just re-copied...Love Alice!

J'avais douze ans en 70 quand j'ai découvert Alice Cooper . J'ai décroché quand il a fait du heavy. Métal a la fin des années 80. Mais ce nouvel album ravive ma foi de fan absolu. Quelle énergie, une voix au top , un album qui prouve qu'il n'a rien perdu de son talent. Chapeau ! 💪👍

Those that didn't like/appreciate this lp,... Are not real rock music fans... Products of a later,product-sales motivated driven world. Alice was more in it for the fun, and tongue-in-cheek humor. As for $$ into live show, Alice barely makes the top of the heap... Kiss, Crue, Trans Siberian, And all the hip pop stars of today dwarf his budget ! As a stagehand for over 35 years I KNOW what I'm talking about,. This is fun, if you dont think so, Go back to your Reality TV and leave the rock to people that know .
We’re old school rock and if the younger generation would have grown up in our era listening to I’m Eighteen from the Billion Dollar Baby’s album, they would get it!

Amazing album no surprise by the god Alice Cooper!
At 73, Alice has come home to give his home city a new classic to add to its illustrious hard rock legacy.
Detroit-born Alice Cooper has remained on rock’s radar for more than 50 years.
His enduring appeal has been the fact that, unlike many of his Seventies FM-radio peers, he always rejected the notion that rock & roll should be serious art.
At his best, he spins a catchy blend of classic rock, pop and witty, incisive lyrics.
In less-inspired moments, he is guilty of churning out campy, formulaic filler.
His latest album, Detroit Stories, is a largely strong effort that ultimately delivers both.
An ode to his hometown, the album opens with Rock 'N' Roll, a Velvet Underground cover that pairs Cooper with Joe Bonamassa for a funked-up blowout, complete with a walloping, shout-out chorus.
Other guest appearances include MC5’s Wayne Kramer, original Alice Cooper members Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith, plus members of his current band, Grand Funk Railroad’s Mark Farner and U2’s Larry Mullen.
Enhanced by long term producer Bob Ezrin’s robust production and Alice on lethal form, vocally and lyric-wise.
They know what they can get away with on an Alice Cooper record, and when they hit their stride, it’s a lot of fun.
Instantly stunning from the opening salvo of Lou Reed’s Rock ‘n’ Roll, Mitch Ryder’s strutting 1971 version its blueprint, and Go Man Go piledriving at getaway-car velocity (opening line: ‘I just got outta jail, stole me a hubcap, I’m a moron’), the street-wise anthems continue with Hail Mary’s feral Chuck Berry chug, self-explanatory Shut Up and Rock and the Motor City roll-call Detroit City 2021.
Cooper's vocal sounds as crisp and powerful as his primetime, solidifying himself as an immortal legend of the rock culture.

Hanging On By A Thread is on the order of badasseness of Nothing is Free, Eighteen, School is Out and the likes. A bit patronizing lyrics, but why not. No matter what lyrics, it rocks. And then followed by Shut up and Rock that sounds like a logic continuation of the previous one. An excellent eclectic album.

This is incredible. Not gonna lie, I have enjoyed his last few solo efforts, but they don't hold that well.
Easily Alice's best solo effort since The Last Temptation and possibly up there with the albums he did with the original band.
As a side note, track 14 is an accurate representation of how I feel about musicians constantly talking about politics and politicians. Just shut up and rock!
Paranormal was a great album. Genuine American Girl which is on the bonus disk rocks.

The arrangement with the riff is almost the same as the Runaways version but with a lot less cowbell.
It's based on the Detroit version and it works well. This album is loaded with great songs.

I really do appreciate the upload, but all these songs sound the same to me. There isn’t much variety. Each song starts up with heavy drums and harsh guitars, like some of his metal albums from the 90s. I know Alice likes the garage band sound, but some zing from the past would be nice.........................

It sounds better than Paranormal, in paranormal it's extremely obvious that they did something to his voice and they tried to hide it with other effects

I understand your sentiment, he has some gems and he has a lot of stuff that's just for fun, comedy, it's not for everyone and it's probably not for most. Alice is all about his live show, the stage act is more important than the music. Think Rocky Horror Picture Show. You have to be there to really get it.
@@richsalyers7081 He puts more money into his shows than nearly any other band, his only competition on that front is slim barring the likes of bands I'm sure he inspired such as Manowar and Iron Maiden. I really think this is his worst album though, I wouldn't pay to listen to this live.
