They shouldn't have cut space between vocal sections of the song when making this a-capella version. It screws up the timing and feeling of the song, to make it less boring. I'd have preferred the original timing.
The silence breaks aren't usually a minute, and is it really a full minute of silence? The shorter breaks being removed, without respect for the beat, really makes the song sound more spastic. I don't get bored waiting some extra seconds, and I think most people are hearing the missing instruments played out of their memory, regardless, but that all vanishes when you cut from verse to verse with the white space removed. It's just one man's opinion.
Then cut that one spot, and try to keep the rhythm together by making the removed space leave us on a fourth beat when we come back into the song. Anyone who ever performed this song knows about the awkward billion second pause where you have nothing but nondescript drums and guitar noise artifacts to guide you when to come back into the song, but for the other white space, it's nice to have.
