I am one of many Grand daughters of Bismillah Walli born the year 1962 the year my Grandfather passed away. This place house and home our precious memories growing up in a community of family members, rituals and connections that form a bond that we carry and look back to fondly.

In this video was a man with the 'songkok tarbus'. His name is Khairat. Is he your uncle? Hope you can share more stories of your times at the keramat or your family. It would be nice if you have photos of Bismillah Wali's family photos or our dad too. I can be reached via whatsapp at 84007564 or email at diagnoveritas@gmail.com

Alhamdullilah thank you for your kind comments and introducing yourself Nadia Hyder. It was initially challenging to look for the descendants of Allahyarham Bismillah Wali to complete this video. Hence my only sources was from the papers and some kind friends who gave me the lead. I conduct regular hertage tours regularly at Siglap. This piece of history will be put back on the map.

As a child I remember seeing the keramat which I thought was a mosque back in the early 70s. We were travelling in a car driven by my brother to visit my late mother’s friend who was living in the warden quarters complex in Jalan Awan. We were travelling from Geylang Serai by Old Upper Changi Road where the drive passed through some rural villages and leafy area travelling up and down the hill. It was indeed an exciting ride to see villages and sand quarries along the way.
In late 1979 we moved to Chai Chee Street and we read from Berita Harian that the tomb complex will be demolished and relocated due to redevelopment project.
My sister was working at the Rollei factory while waiting for her ‘O’ levels result and her work area has a good view window of the keramat. They saw the demolition works and also heard about some difficulties the demolition team faced while going about their work.
