@@granola1998 No, I mean occasionally I will feel a little bit of pinching or rubbing, but that’s very occasional and usually passes before I even get to the point where I have to adjust anything. The only exception is when I end up with a hole in my outer sleeve, like I showed in this video. But that’s because once there’s a hole I no longer have a proper seal, so I start sliding around inside of my socket.
Just listened to your 911 audio call. wow dude. I know I’m late but I’m so happy you made it and you’re okay... your genuine care for your parents and praying... wow. Take care buddy + new subscriber. Ahhhh happy you’re okay.
Hi Johnny! Just saw your video about the 911 call, and dude... what a story! Just wanted to say that I really apreciate you and apreciate the way you handle everything. I'm brazilian, so your story is really traveling the world! God bless you, congrats on your channel!
Johnny, Thank u for your channel. I just had to say...The 911 call...you were so dang adorable!!! I just loved u so much! You are awesome dude! When u prayed..wow! So beautiful!! Saying u love everybody!! & telling the operator that he was your hero! U my friend are uplifting& a blessing! God bless u sweet.
I've heard your phone call to 911 on an italian channell. I was in tears, pal. All the channell followers were there, with you. You did it, John. You are a very special guy. God bless you. So much love from Florence (Italy)
I am a BKA and have been for only a little over a year. I have the pin and lock system and I LOVE my prosthetic. Have you tried the pin and lock? You are an inspiration to me, thank you!!! Really enjoying your videos!
u love spongebob haha,, newbie here when i saw ur 911 convo ,, thinking it was new but showing 10yrs ago,, just i wish more ads and no skipping,, kudos to u man
i just recently found the youtuber @urmaker and binged his 911 calls. i couldnt imagine the pain you were feeling at the time of the incident. im so glad you made a full recovery! im aso happy to see you making these videos educating myself and others. keep it up john. 🤍
i have both my legs yet found this video interesting. I came from the call video as most people probably did. Im glad all is well with you now after that. I am curious though, did you actually send the operator flowers or ever speak to him again?
They are off the shelf. There is a little bit more detail than just small medium and large thankfully. They go off of both length and circumference. Off the top of my head I don’t remember my measurements anymore, but I’m pretty sure I’m a medium circumference large length. I may be a medium/ medium though. But if I went up in circumference to make it easier to fit over my socket, then once I got down to the lower portion of the socket which is substantially thinner, it would be all bunchy and would not have a good seal. I learned that the hard way when I thought I would cheat and go up a size just to make it easier to get on, and then had to seriously tape the hell out of it in order to make it work.
Dude, DBK here. Let your hardware show. It looks cool. I have spent hours changing out sleeves. I’m brutal on them, but not abusive. Your blogs rock. Ditch the pineapples, baby!!!
Wow, DBK! You must have some wicked balance! Yeah I’m really abusive on my sleeves because of my job. I’ll go to walk around a stack of pallets too tightly and end up catching the corner of a pallet directly onto the side of my sleeve; put a nice gash in it. Or I’ll snag it on a nail or something. The fact that this one lasted from July until now is actually quite impressive. Then again it’s had a tear in it for about 2 months now and I’ve just been dealing with it. Haha and pineapples are my fiancé’s favorite. She chose the cover.
Джон я не понимаю что ты там говоришь, но я хочу передать тебе, что очень хороший человек и твоя мама очень счастлива, что у неё такой сын. Ты большой большой молодец⚘
I 100% agree it is way more work than just having somebody else do it. I mean, obviously lol. Unfortunately I don’t have insurance, but that’s OK though because my tech does it for free and doesn’t charge for that regardless. The only issue is, I don’t always feel like driving 40 minutes to my prosthetist, sitting there for 15 minutes, and then driving 40 minutes back home lol. However I can call them up, have them mail it to me, and then do it myself at home on my own time. At this point though, I actually don’t even buy them from my prosthetist anymore. Now I get them delivered from the amputeestore.com. It’s on AutoShip and I have it delivered every three months because that seems to be about the frequency that I end up needing a new one. But yes, it is definitely easier to have someone else do it lol. If that’s a viable option for anyone, do that. This video is more for the people who don’t have that option, or who just have them mailed directly to their house because of time/ location constraints.
What are some pros and cons when you have a prosthetic leg?
Pro: Feel like Iron Man
Con: Have one leg
@@Crew9t hmm... sounds worth it, let me find the saw.
@@un-nown7227 dark joke😅😂

Are the sleeves custom made for the circumference of your leg specifically or are they off the shelf like small, medium or large?

What kind of tape is that?
Where do i get the tape that you use?
There are some online amputee stores, but I personally get mine directly from the prosthetists office.
Why’d you only take your pants off AFTER the camera stopped?! 😩😩😩 Cool video though 😉 Good information and you look good! 🤪
