Hi Ernst! The snow is nice but I look forward to a better layout one day when we settle into a new home. We will be moving to another part of the country in the next year.
Thanks Dave. It a great engine. I had to find a god isobutane fuel. I also filled the fuel and lit the engine within seconds of going outside. The fuel tank is up against the back of the boiler to the boiler keeps it warm.
Nice video, I always like to see livestream trains running in the snow. Gives a nice steam cloud out of the chimney. Servo conversation also nicely done! Greetings from the not so snowie Netherlands. Kind regards, Math
Some of the shots look like scenes from the 'Murder on the Orient Express' film. Nice simple conversation, my Goliath was a bit more challenging but got it to work in the end. Running RC trains is great. I always try to get scale speed, always challenging fun, just like you're having.
@@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks U don't need any IC ckts to have the driver (Engineer) to 'make it looks like' the dummy is operating the lever. Just glue his hand to it. His shoulder n his elbow must b hinged to move freely. U may need to move the lubricator out of the cab. U can disguise it as a big donkey pump w input n output pipes, or horizontal air tank? U can also use rubber arm(s) n rubber body too if u need to bend it. I've seen this in 1/48th 0-scale model. It'll b a lot EZr on 1/19th scale. Not my idea. Just 4 fun, experiment if u like the scene. Oh, coal bunker at the rear can give more space. And thx for posting the video, enjoyed several of urs very much, i subscribed.
Hello terry I’m getting a Mamod mk3 Brunel in a couple of days and was wondering if you could do a detailed operating video because I can’t find anything on UA-cam. And we’ll don’t with fitting those RC servo’s. Thank you Hani🙂
Thanks Hani! I could do a detailed operating video but in the meantime check out my friend Dave’s Brunel video. He goes through things in some good detail. ua-cam.com/video/QxRJl7W_sJQ/v-deo.html
@@Idk9954 I will get around to it. It may not be in time for you but if you look at my Brunel playlist there are hints and tips throughout. I raised the boiler a little using washers. This caused better burn. Don’t turn the gas on too much. It only needs a little. Also in my first Brunel vid see what I did with the cylinder glands. It was simple and effective and caused much better performance.
I don’t actually know the answer. But my two Mamods came with a build stamp suggesting they were made the week I ordered them. So perhaps? I hope this helps.
Got a question. I have a Wilesco D10 steam engine. I haven't ruined it for about 5 months or so. My question is you know you use distilled water in your boilers. Do you need to do boiler wash and what would your need to do it?
I always use distilled water. Washing out a boiler depends on what gunk may be in there. Do you have lime or mineral build up? Either way you can’t go wrong with a good soak in vinegar and hot water. I will also use dish soap if steam oil has gotten back into a boiler.
I see. Thank you so much for your input. I will definitely use that. Could you do a video on how to do that? Would you recommend me to use scaling tablets in my boiler?
@@LukeLovesTrains-Mr.RailYard I imagine something like that may exist. When I got my old Wilesco someone ad been running it lots in an area where they must have had hard water and they clearly used it from the tap. What a job getting the line scale out. It affects the efficiency of the boiler. I took the front glass off and worked it with a soft brush. And soap and vinegar.
😃 Your Sabrina is running perfectly! The snow fits nicly to your layout. Thank you for sharing this video.

Thanks so much Math. We don’t usually have snow here on Vancouver Island either.

I have trouble sometimes starting off while also holding my phone to take video. Sometimes I start to fast as a result.
Great job and nice sharing in the snow! Have a good week end! Fabrizio
Thanks Fabrizio. It was fun.
@@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks Yes, very fun! Ciao Fabrizio
Sabrina looks amazing in the snow Terry. Still have her?
I absolutely do. A great engine.
Now w ur R/C control, perhaps u can install a driver w pivoting shoulder n elbow attached to datttoo
reverser lever?
Hahaha. Indeed. I’m sure one day as the tech gets smaller such a thing will be available.

@@Idk9954 right now we are at -4 c and I would want to make the vid outdoors and run it outdoors.
@@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks Wow -4🥶 don't worry hopefully the frost subsides.

I recently bought a mamod Mklll and I've been on hold since 2-23-23 do they build them per order or is it something else?
