- Christmas decorations are all up and finished and now I can enjoy. John and I have worked over a week, off and on, getting everything decorated for our favorite holiday. I added a couple of trees this year and if you've watched my other home tours, you will notice that some room colors have changed quite drastically. The dining room had been "Raspberry Truffle" Benjamin Moore for 15 years and it is now a very soothing cream color. I'm really loving the new color - very nice for a change.
I hope you enjoy this home tour. We have collected all of our Christmas decorations throughout the 18 years we have been married. We are always looking for sales - especially after Christmas sales for the following year.

Oh my goodness. Your house is like a Hallmark Christmas movie, except even more magical and beautiful. I seriously want to drive the 3.5 hours your way just to sit and have a cup of coffee and stare at all of that! It is Heavenly! PS- the new Bronx NY piece y'all got recently looks right at home! Everything is just perfect!

The angel in the bedroom with the light is over 20 years old. I package her up very carefully every year and put her back in her box. Her little wings moving truly give her an angelic spirit. You're from Greece? How wonderful! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to visit there one day. You must send me a postcard from your hometown and let me see a little part of your world. I would love that. And my husband loves to get out early the day after Christmas and finds some amazing pieces. That is MawMaw Luv and Daddy. That's my favorite picture of them and I never put it up. I put up most pictures during the holiday because I decorate so much. I think I favor my Daddy a lot - I see it. He's been gone 33 years now.......a long, long time. And speaking of John, I could NOT do any of this if he didn't do the hard work of lifting and putting up the trees. But we love it and he loves it as much as I do!

Only two very committed and Holy Spirit filled people could possible accomplish what you both have done in such a short week. It's simply outstanding and you are blessed to have such a great man helping you out with the details. Mine usually just plugs things in .... Ha! Everything else falls on me to decorate and I'm glad I started early this year too. Still have a few more areas to do and then I'm calling it a day! Your selections of items fits in beautifully with the rest of the house and I love the country feel with all the Christmas elements of old and new. I love the new wall colour too! Certainly made a huge difference. You can both now sit back and enjoy all your hard work and if we didn't live so far away I'd be coming up to visit and bring you some of our lovely traditional snow in a bucket! Haha! Kiddin' cuz we got none right now. Won' be too long before we do though. Your big Christmas was quite interesting and I'm sure that alone as a very interesting story to tell? All in all, you've won 1st Prize on my watch and I think many of the other ladies here would agree to this. Beautiful and wonderful just like you. May you and your family have a blessed Christmas this year with 'congratulations' on your next "born pastor' in the family! Love that your brother pointed that out at Thanksgiving! His words came right out of his mouth when I was thinking the very same thing! Isn't God wonderful! I love His time and when he brings people into our lives just at the right moment and for His greater purpose and plan for our lives. One day soon, we will all come to see what all this fuss is about and we will rejoice in His Presence! What a wonderful day that will be! STUNNING !!!! Suzanne this was such a treat to watch I honestly got totally wrapped up and was taken away for almost half an hour and it was wonderful I am sure between now and Christmas I will be watching this many times maybe over a coffee or a cup of hot chocolate it is truly breath taking .. it's kind of funny I filmed my little section of decorations today and for some reason after I did my phone up and died it won't even turn on now .. and now I know why LOL no just kidding I do love mine too and hope I can load it up shortly ... I do hope you leave all this up for a fair bit because I know how hard it was for me to do such a small section and I know you suffer from pain too and i just can't imagine how badly you must have hurt doing this so enjoy it as long as you can I know I will be ... thank you for sharing part of you and your beautiful home i can picture you and John sitting there in those comfy looking chairs reading ... Girl you share your Christmas too! I could NOT do any of this if John didn't bring all the containers from the basement and put up my trees. I do all the decorating and you are so right......it just about kills me physically but I love it "after" it's done! LOL! I take it down the week after Christmas because by then I'm tired of it! Welcome aboard Deb! So glad to have you! Thank you so much! As you can tell we love decorating together. My husband does the heavy work and I do the decorating. Getting ready to take it all down and I told him we would blink our eyes and it would be time to get it out again! I do have a large basement and John has very large metal shelves that he organizes beautifully. I COULD NOT do any of this if it wasn't for him. He brings all the containers upstairs and I unload and decorate. He then takes it all back down until time to pack it back up. It is definitely a team effort.

Just stunning! I am not decorating this year and this 30 minutes of joy has made my season! Love from sunny and warm Jamaica! I will be on the beach come Christmas Day followed by dinner in the mountains with family.

Thank you so much! I've always loved Santas and I try to buy one new one every year but I'm beginning to wonder where I'll put them. Many times Zulilly has some good ones right after Christmas. I will get the boxes in and I won't even open them until the following Christmas and it is such a surprise because I don't even remember what I ordered! LOL! Many of mine are Possible Dream Santas. Thank you so much Arlynn. My young ladies that help me with bible study the other night was like "wow!" "How do you know how to do this" "Why did you put this here" I just laugh and I told them I take pictures everywhere we go and copy it and make it cheaper. My husband had two female clients come from San Diego the other day and they came over to see the house. They were in awe. I guess we don't think that much about it because we're use to it. My husband loves Christmas decorations as much as I do and I surely could not do it without him doing all the heavy work.

I love your opening statement. I'm rich with copying and taking pictures of what I love and finding it cheaper everywhere I go! I am the interior designer here and I have no help. John and I do everything ourselves. I couldn't it without him. He brings all containers from the basement and I decorate. I make pictures everywhere I go of what I love and copy copy copy! LOL I have a little tree I shrink wrap with ornaments on it. Then I just take the shrink wrap off and a few minor adjustments and Wella! the tree! LOL. I do have a gorgeous Manger scene though. If I may ask, the place settings on your kitchen table, the truck with the tree particularly, where did you find those? For some reason this year I'm entranced with that design and would love to see if I could find plates similar to yours. Thank you again!
The truck with the tree in the back is actually a cookie jar and it came from Wal-Mart this year. The plates also came from Wal-Mart and they are Better Homes and Gardens. I still need three more plates and haven't been able to find them. I tried ordering them online and couldn't get them there as well. Good luck on finding some of this! Hope you find them.
And my husband says I'm obsessed with this design as well as campers this year! But I just love it!
Oh and I found a big green truck with a tree in the back last night at Sam's Wholesale. The tree lights up.
Absolutely fabulous Suzanne. Some years I'm more motivated than others. I live in s two story and all my stuff is in the 3rd story attic. I've got to get busy!!! Two questions..... in your foyer and dining room, was that cut greenery from outside? If so how long does it stay green? It reminded me of the house I grew up across the street from. He decorated with magnolia stems all over the house. Gorgeous!! 😍
Let me just tell you I COULD NOT do this if my husband did not bring the containers up from downstairs. There is no one I would get anything done without him. The greenery is cedar that my husband got out of the woods. It will get dry by me putting it out early but I can replace if needed. But it will stay green for a long time. I love the scent of it. And I LOVE magnolia leaves too......I had two huge trees at my old house. We keep saying we're going to plant one and haven't done it yet. Thank you for watching and maybe this will motivate you :)

Thank you Eileen! The table came from a store called Encore in Alabaster, AL. We also found them in a downtown Birmingham store but it was $800 more. The green buffet came from a store called Trees and Trends. We have one in Boaz, AL but we actually found this one in Franklin, TN --- we love to shop at that store. I went back and forth on the green cabinet because it was so different......but now I love it! Thanks for watching!

Hey Jenne. That picture was a gift from my BFF two years ago. She found two of them at Hobby Lobby and bought me one. Try Hobby Lobby because they are already putting Christmas stuff out. Do you have a Hobby Lobby where you live?
First I have to began off with saying how Amazing every room looks!!!! Then I have a couple questions for you :) When do you stare putting up all your decorations? How long do you leave them up? I would have a hard time taking them all down. Everything is so breath taking. I could only imagine sitting at night with all the Christmas lights on, drinking some hot cocoa.

It is a lot of work and it just about kills me physically because I deal with fibro and chronic fatigue......but I LOVE it when it's all done. I usually start the week "before" Thanksgiving but I didn't get to this year because we were having some painting done. Great timing, don't you think? LOL! But we actually have to take the painter in between big jobs. Because I put it up so early.....it usually comes down the week after Christmas. And it is pretty awesome at night with all the lights on :) Thank you so much for watching!
What a warm and welcoming home, its perfect for Christmas gatherings. How do you store your décor so it stays undamaged from year to year?
Very carefully! LOL! Actually we have purchased the large storage tubs throughout the years (in red and green) and I keep everything in the world you can imagine to wrap the items in. I try to keep my sections together but this year we had repainted so I've had several new vignettes. I try to clear out what I know I'm not going to use again.....that works on some things and it seems that some things never get cleared out. I also make pictures of everything before I take it down, in case I want to do the same arrangement the next year......it speeds up the process to look at the pictures. But everything is wrapped and placed in storage containers and my husband had several large racks in the basement where he stores all of the containers. Thank you so much for watching :)

The pineapple is the sign of Southern Hospitality. It has been used throughout houses and designs in the South for many, many years. We like to use to for the sign of hospitality and just for fun. My husband is actually the one that thought of it years ago. And it does take a lot of work......sometimes I wonder how long I'll keep it up......but still going right now! Have a wonderful Christmas :)

Unfortunately we've had those churches for many, many years......probably 7-9 years and I think they came from Trees and Trends back then. I love them so much because they are so big and different!

Thank you Sylvia. I'm not sure who the buffet is by. I bought it in an estate sale over 25 years ago and it's one of my favorite pieces of furniture. I will have to do some investigating on that. It was in a little old house where both of the elderly couple had passed away. The drawers were lined with newspapers from 1956 and I knew I had to have it. Thank you so much for watching!

Haaaaa....yes i know you won't get snow in Alabama! I live in Ohio on the shores of Lake Erie and I'm hoping for a white Christmas.
We did get a little "one" year and there have been several years we get some in January. But it shuts us down because we don't have equipment and we live in a more rural area. You folks are the professionals......we'll leave it up to you. It is so beautiful though but I have to admit this Southern gal would probably go crazy with it around for days. I bet it is beautiful where you live - I hope to visit the Great Lakes when John and I travel in a few years :)

Great video and glad there's no talking. But all I can think of is:WOW! These people must be loaded. A big garland alone is something I can't afford. Actually, none of it. Could you pan out and show the whole room more?
I took your advice and showed the whole rooms in my new Fall Home Tour 2018. And girl we're not loaded. Education in Alabama does not make you wealthy. This is 20 years of accumulating a few new pieces every year and looking for bargains. But thank you so much!
