I’m a father, husband preschool teacher, UA-camr, collector. just listening to how you explain your collection. It’s not easy balancing all those things in life and trying to put some cash aside to get a figure every once in a while. I’ve been collecting since birth. 🤣. I always say there’s worse things to spend our hard earned money on. 😎.
@@TheFigureZone I tell the wife the same thing when she sees the bill. 😂 I work hard I figure a man deserves an action figure once and a while. These figures are not what I had as a kid. These are pieces of art. I’m 40 plus…I’ve been collecting forever but this 1/6 scale stuff is a major investment.
@@meltingmovies1945 🤣. I’ve been collecting since birth and I’m the same way. Sure I love my Kenner 3 3/4 Star Wars figures and Hasbro GI Joes but the 1/6 figures are the best. They are shrunken down versions of our childhood heroes and characters we love from movies, music and TV shows and they are definitely works of art. They are the closest representation of the characters we love and they bring back so many memories when we see them on the shelves. 😀
Your collection warms my heart! I LOVE the C3PO! Figures like that really make a collection a PERSON's collection, and not a competitive array of super expensive figures that most of us cannot afford! lol! Not that I wouldn't love to get the "good" ones, but I love making the el-cheapos into something cool! Great stuff! And a FUN collection! You really represent what I had hoped your were with all your updates. You are a man of many sources! Thanks and keep the info videos flowing!

Thanks ! That’s kinda how I look at it. A cool display shelf is the cost of two 3rd party figures. Maybe I’ll get some detolfs one day but then more figures would have to go back into their boxes and that’s no fun.

I've taken over the Family house, being the last surviving. My Mom collected vintage dolls, and my Sister collected... frack'n Everythng!
Leaving me to slowly go through all of their stuff - and selling what I can. Then my Wife wants to redecorate the Whole place!!!

Now that I've got a room full of figures that I can't show off - then came the Super Kool Batpod. Dang! But I want to show it!!!
And I can't get 1/6 Delorians, Batwings, or Batmobiles out of my mind. No budget to get them... or space to put them... but they'd look so Kool sitting...!
Once you get started... it gets in your blood... and you Need that next figure...! 🤤
Oh yeah we definitely can’t quit collecting cold turkey. 🤣. I can still afford a figure every couple months so I put one on the Sideshow payment plan. Sure I won’t get it for 5 months but at least I’ll get a figure. You gotta do like I did and throw a figure on top of random 💩 and call it a day. 🤣. Swap the figure out once in a while just for fun. I had figures all over the house at one point. 😀

I'd love to do like how Sideshow does when showing at conventions.
To have an island - one big enough to hold 8-10 figures. People can walk all the way around, or see it from 3 sides.
Then to have some racks - 3 to 4 shelves high to put other figures on.
Then you just rotate figures as wanted.
Maybe even add some of the video Photo Frames. Letting them run through pictures of the rest of your collection.
It would allow me to display - and keep the Wife from throwing them all out / killing me! 🤕
And I loved seeing your Jack Barton. I was lucky enough to catch someone, just trying to make theirs go away. I need to dig him out for a bit. 😙

I went for years missing out on all the 3rd party figures and after I found them years ago I wanted to give the collector community the chance to get them also so we all have awesome collections with figures we may not have known existed. Who’d a thunk we’d have a Tony Soprano, Saul Goodman or some random X Men figures available today.
I definitely love the 3rd party companies.

You've got some awesome pieces and some rare ones too. It's good to see a "normal" working man's collection and one I can relate to. I honestly don't know how some folks on UA-cam have the time and money to setup those amazing museum style rooms. Sometimes seeing those vids make my collection feel like I'm on the Average Joes vs. Globo Gym. LOL Thanks for making the videos. I watch all the 1/6 ones religiously. The 1/12 figures look amazing too, but I just can't do both scales. Definitely have some 1/12 stuff in the collection, but trying to focus on 1/6.

I see all these UA-camrs with the fancy setups and here I am with some figure thrown in a bookshelf that’s actually holding books on the lower shelves. 🤣. I though I might get ridiculed to no end for having 💩 display furniture, but instead so many collectors are in the same boat as I am.

They are some pretty cool figures. Sideshow made an Escape from New York Snake Plisskin figure also but I was too broke at the time to get him. Sideshow does make some cool figures from time to time.

Thanks ! There’s a lot of stands down there. 🤣. I have to look into how to insure all of my stuff. I also have about 100 sealed Kenner vintage Star Wars figures and about 15 sealed Kenner vehicles also. I definitely gotta insure my stuff. 🤑
@@TheFigureZone Definitely man, you gotta. I come from a place of caring and experience... A few years ago I had a home break-in and my renter's insurance saved my ass. I was able to replace everything (about $20k of losses) with no questions asked.

With X-Men, I am investing in Mondo. I didn't preorder the Gambit, but have to ebay it. I love all the heads and power options so they have my money. I need to do an X-Men shelf, but space is a problem.
I debate shoving things on shelf because space vs having a nice set up. Right now the former is winning.
I’m almost embarrassed to show my 💩 display furniture. It looks like I grabbed bookshelves off the street from peoples garbage. 🤣🤣. We have what we have and it’s cool.
Yeah, I feel ya... I save wayyyyy back in the day just for 1 glass display , that was 10 yrs ago . Glass displays w lights. It's awesome but a pain in the butt to maintain... you should check out do it yourself display case videos. I'm trying that out and that might be up your alley. 100 dollar storage rack some led lights and some black panels might do wonders plus you decide how small or large 🤔 you want your display...might be something to check out.
I’ve seen some super cool displays but it’s also a thing of where to put them. My musics shelf could probably get swapped out but my movie DVD Blue Ray shelf has like 600 movies on it and I have another 500 in boxes in the basement. I should sell most of them off to afford the better shelves. 🤔😀
I missed out on the Obi Wan Han Cheewie. IT was slightly before I started 1/6. It hurts the heart. Rather than overpay, I am waiting for an eventual re-release....10 years from now😪
I got lucky and was collecting when only Sideshow was doing 1/6 Star Wars figures and years later Hot Toys announced they will be making them and I went crazy and bought every figure and then ran out of money when Moff Tarkin came out and I missed like 40 figures. ☹️. Those were the dark days. 🤣
Now it's to see if I can live long enough for those re-issues to appear! 😉

You have an awesome collection! Don't even fret about your displays, you make it work, you're happy with what you got and that's what matters. Though later down the line I would suggest looking into garage shelving! I got myself a shelf, painted the shelf boards black, set up my lighting and boom! Got a big enough display to fit even my hot toys dark knight batmobile and for a fraction of the price of like a moducase!

Thanks ! I’ve seen someone post photos in some groups who did that and it looked fantastic. I’ve been tempted to do that for my back of the wall X Men book shelf display and sell the movies exempt for the GI Joe footlocker and stuff like that to pay for the garage shelves and add the plastic and lights.
@@TheFigureZone Sweet! You can do what I did and just not use plastic and keep the shelves open to further save on the budget. Dust isn't a problem for me because I'm a creature of habit, i like going in to dust my collection regularly out of habit, plus i get to interact with them and remember why i collect them to begin with instead of just staring at them through glass or plastic!

Started to watch your collection tour about three weeks ago or so, then something happened and never got to finish it. Finally had a chance to look at it fully. Wow, what a collection you have. You weren't kidding when you said in the past, that your basement was full of figures haha! No need to apologize for your figure set ups! Unless you lived in a mansion, you would never have enough room to display all the figures you have 😆 We do what we have to, and any collector gets it. I've seen videos of moducases that are crammed with some collections and it does not look good. If they were going to spend that much money on those cases,they should at least elevate how they display them in those cases, but to each their own, I guess?
Two things I was going to suggest. 1) I heard you mention the besta cases from Ikea. I have some in our basement ( not for figure displays ) and they have the deep ones and the shallower ones ( I think they are around 8" deep ). The shallower ones are obviously cheaper, but not cheap enough 😁and provided you weren't going to be doing any diorama posing with multiple figures in action poses, they might be a possibility? If and/or when you make that trek to Ikea, and you value your sanity, make sure it's not on a weekend🤣2) The other thing I strongly suggest, if you haven't already done it, is make sure you have your house insurance increased to reflect the added cost of all those figures. You must have a small fortune in figures and some insurance companies won't honour your claim if you haven't already told them about them. I would hope you , or any of us collectors, never have to go down that path, but don't put it off. I know someone who did, not for hot toys, but other collectibles, and they didn't get the value back, that they were worth, because the insurance didn't know they had them and they had a flood in their basement. 😩Don't want to be a downer, but just want you to make sure your figures are protected! Great tour and look forward to version 2 😁
I’d love to hit IKEA again one day but the closest one is like almost 2 hours away in Jersey. Definitely stay away fro their on the weekends. 🤣.
I’m stuck with my display furniture for a while. I’m out of cash for that kinda stuff and figures for a while unfortunately.
I’m working on my 2.0 displays but it’s so much work. I have to finish 3 custom figures then switch out about 50 figures. I keep putting it off. 😝
@@TheFigureZone I hear you about putting things off. It is a lot of work getting displays done or changed up, especially with the amount of figures you have. You've always talked about having a lot of figures, but I don't think people realize how many you owned, until we saw the tour😳 I'm still trying to work on some diorama's for my Marvel figures, but then life gets in the way ( plus procrastination 🤣)
@@markmcg.5641 I forget how many figures I have until I have to move them onto a different shelf. The funny part is the customers will only take about 20 minutes each but swapping display shelves involves risers, different stands and reposing everyone so they don’t have a blaster on the back of another figures head. 🤣.
Nice collection tour! Im down sizing my collection to mainly star wars , dark knight trilogy but holding onto a few randoms lile pop toys scorpion, omniman n invincible from soosootoys etc. I hope hot toys makes a grevious man!!!! Sell all non 1/6 scale n finish the basement !!! Lol thats my goal!
That’s an awesome plan. I have exposed insulation in my basement and I’m thinking of doing a complete refinish and making a massive display down there along with my Training Hall and eBay selling station.
I like that you label your boxes. I need to do the same. Been selling tons of figures on ebay. Made about 200 to 500 a month depending on what I sell. GIve or take a few hundred. I can't afford everything I like...
I need to focus more on what I love, rather than being a completionists. I am lucky in that I reject modertn TV and shows, so my collection is usually 80's to 2000 or so. So not modern Star Wars, or Walking Dead. But give me Knight Rider and A Team(I made customs) and I am happy.
I do end up with regrets as I missed out on Dooku for example at a reasonable price. I was like I can get DOooku later on as his figure wasn't increasing in price, and sometimes you wait too long.
I also cannot pay 1000k for customs. They look great, like on REddit there was a custom MAgnum PI, but I cannot afford thousand dollar figs.
I’m with you on all that. I’m only collecting what I really love and I’m even being picky about that because I’m out of funds for figures.
Labeling the boxes is always a great idea so you don’t have to open flip around the box to see who’s inside. Once I redo my displays I’m going to make a square grid map with all the labeled boxes so I know where each figure is. Most box rows are 5 high and 3 deep and I have no idea what’s half of my figures are. 🤣
This is a very eclectic collection. Respect, it's a nice balance of different things. I'm trying to just stick to Marvel and Batman mostly, and even in those IPs you have A LOT to choose from lol. But I still have a couple Star Wars pieces poking about.
Thanks ! That’s an awesome thing sticking to just a couple IP’s you can pretty much get every figure released because you are not like me and buying everything. 🤑. I’m really picking and choosing now though. It’s costs way too much money to try keeping up with buying everything that’s cool.

@@Xman_supreme I hear you on that. Jazz Inc and InArt are making some awesome yet expensive figures & Vehicles. I’m still bummed I had to cancel the InArt Joker I had on preorder. I lost like $50 on that one with the NRD. That was one of the figures on my top list I always wanted.
Nice collection, thanks for sharing it with us. You shouldn't apologize so much for the shelves. Everyone complaining about those should just shut the fuck up. People getting rock hard for cheap IKEA furniture should just collect that stuff, imo. It's about the figures and not about the stupid shelves. However, I saw that poor Rorschach (aka Herman if you asked Soosootoys) is parked in your basement. I hope we see him on a shelve in the 2.0 video. I love that figure. Bought him three times so I can pose him with all the accessories and head sculpts that I like at the same time. Apart from that I only have Zombie Iron Man, Zombie Deadpool, Punisher War Machine, Robocop, and ED209 on display. I need all of my space for the statues from Prime 1 Studio and from Blitzway. They don't require as much care imo, and they always come in a certain awesome pose, but require a lot more space of course due to the huge bases and so on.
Thanks ! I always used the money that I could have spent on display furniture on figures instead. I only have all the figures I have because I sold off other figures I had and didn’t want to sell my GI Joe 25th line for some IKEA furniture that’s pretty much a ticking time bomb. 🤣.
I opened up my Herman figure and looked at all the wrong size neck peg holes in the head sculpts and said not today and put him back in the box. 🤣 Maybe one day if I want to mess with it for an hour or 2. 😎.
I love those Prime 1 statues. That take up a lot of space but they are posed so cool. If you pose a 1/6 figure like that the figure won’t last long. When I opened one of my Hot Toys Spider-Man figures I took the plastic pieces off the limbs, turned his head at a slight angle then put him on the shelf as is. 🤣🤣🤣
Wow😮. I thought I had it bad with bills and space. Glad I'm not the only one. ... insane!!! What are those 500 storage bins? Crazy 🤪 ...yeah I have a storage place and want get rid of it . Way too much I have maybe 4 or 5 bins and 4 or 5 boxes... mainly smaller stuff like neca and 6 inch...my 1/6 is on display. Always hard to know what to keep or display and what get rid of.
The crazy part is I sold off around 300 plastic bins filled with Star Wars, GI Joe and Transformers figures to pay for the 1/6 I have now. My basement was crazy packed. I had to like dig myself in to get to the boxes in the back rows which were 5 high and 7 deep. 🤣

Is the fishing line tied around the feet/legs for stability?
Have you considered Moducase? I initially balked at the price, but I got them recently and it was well worth the investment for the uniformity, lighting and dust proofing.
I made the difficult decision to purge a select few of my figure & statue boxes recently. After 10+ years of collecting, my house was getting buried and I didn’t want to pay extra for storage.
I though about those cases but don’t k ow if I have the space for them. Most of my displays are multipurpose for music or books or other random stuff.
I totally forgot to address the fishing line. Some figures don’t feel secure with just the crotch grabber stand and if their feet slip off the stand they will crash down like 4-8 to the floor. I put a thin fishing line around their feet and the stand pole prices that the metal crotch grabber is attacked to. It’s a bit more secure because I occasionally train people in my living room and there’s lots of stomping going on. It’s gives me a piece of mind. 😀

Thanks ! It is a pain for sure. I have to use a white brush that is super soft and have to pretend I’m an archeologist dusting off a super fragile fossil. 🤣.
That's nice. I am a mess. I have a lot of customs but I am planning to buy magnets/pictures of the movie/character they represent. Sometimes I forget wait, which Chuck Norris movie is this Chuck Norris is from.
I have given up on most 6 inch lines. Keeping most NECAs like ALF. Alf seems to be 1/6 scale by the way. ET is a little too short. BUt Alf works.
🤣. I still collect some Mezco and GI Joe Classified Figures but I have to save up to get a 1/6 figure and the 1/12 prices seem to go up every 3 months. ☹️

Hahaha I'm the same, brought 5 3D print armour so it's works out about £200+ sbd I've seen 3D printers for £180 so I'm in the same boat hahaha, do actually enjoy the painting thou,

You are definitely saving a lot of cash. 🤑. Once HT got the Star Wars license I tried to keep up but they went all out crazy and I ran out of money. That’s the biggest problem with being an everything collector. You spend a pile of cash on items that are cool and when an item you really want comes out, you are flat broke and then it’s not worth paying the crazy prices on eBay to try and get it.

I think when it comes to movies, fans need to create their own cannon, because everything is being sacrificed for the agenda.
For example, Terminator only had 2 movies.
Star wars only had 6 movies.
Indy had only 3 movies.
And so on.
Modern movies suck.
I hear you on that. In my mind Rey went to the Darkside and joined Kylo. Eventuality Kylo went back to the light and Rey killed the Emperor but was able to keep him out and just take his power and now she leads the 1st order. I’d pay to see that in theaters. 🤑

$30,000 worth of figures, $20 worth of furniture. Plastic crack addiction indeed Ha. Don't sweat the furniture, It looks good, it may be homemade but it's done right from the looks of it. I have way less figures but I do the same thing. I used a bunch of scrap aluminum and leftover fake wood from redoing the deck and made myself some shelves.
If you find a way to rip your CDs and DVDs, you can literally fit every single one of them on an external hard drive that takes up less room then one figure. you just need a $40 capture card and you hook your laptop or dvd player to the computer. it'll be a slow process... might be easier to get a vpn and just pirate everything you already own lol.
🤣🤑. This was one of those situations where the shelves were being used for movies and I was like I’d rather have some cool figures on them and never thought about upgrading but I just want to put some lighting in them.
I can’t part ways with my CD collection. I haven’t listened to one in years because I have Apple Music. I have tons of heavy metal, 90’s hip hop and my KISS collection in those boxes. What’s even worse is there’s about 10 boxes filled with DVD’s in my basement and still 300 or so still on the shelves in my living room. 😝. That’s a lot of movies. 🍿

Unfortunately I ran out of display space so I swap out figures once in a while.
