I'm actually from Egypt, and I appreciate making such a great video about my country. Diving here is very amazing and affordable for all types of diving. ❤
@DIVEindotcom I would say all of Egypt's locations are amazing in its way. However, I like Dahab and Marsa Alam the most. You guys are more than welcome anytime, and I suggest you announce a meet-up here soon.
Just got back from an amazing dive trip in Egypt, exploring the reefs via day trip boats-such an incredible experience! Next time, I’m thinking of trying a liveaboard to dive more remote sites and take the adventure to the next level. Can’t wait to experience something new!
I was certified CMAS advance open water in Ras Mohammed in 1984 Sinai Peninsular! Then 7 years diving in the western province of Saudi Arabia from Yanbu to Jeddah!
I had the fortunate opportunity to visit Egypt in the early 2000s. An opportunity to go back and see a different side of the country would be a dream come true. We have been looking at Egypt based dives for quite a while now.
Good information about diving in Egypt... Although I have never been on the Egyptian side but on the Saudi side I have dove in the north of Red Sea and my prefer time of the year is March to April when the coral is really thriving and the fishes are in the shallow where the water comparatively warmer (22-25 Celsius). Until mid of January you can still dive in Mid to Southern part of Rea Sea if you prefer warmer waters.
Thank you for the detailed feature on Egypt diving. I am planning a trip to Marsa Alam on July 2025 to visit a friend and explore Egypt for 6 months. This video really gave me great insights on how to approach my planning strategy. Thanks again.
So glad i saw this video. I have been looking for a new place to dive. Definitely adding Egypt to my bucket list. The live abroad seems like the best option for me.
I’d love to go diving on a live-aboard and see as much as possible of what Egypt has to offer. It seems incredible and very welcoming and an added bonus that one of my best friends is from there and I can break out some of my Arabic, albeit quite rusty now.
I am studying abroad here in Egypt and would love to enjoy the wide variety of dive sites Egypt has to offer has well has different varieties of fish and coral!
I loved diving at Marsa Alam. 7 mm semidry was perfect, but the 5 mm provided by the shop for some of my fellow divers led to us cutting third dive of the day short.
I would love to dive in the Red Sea just to see all of the aquatic life that I would never get to experience around North America. Plus, I’ve always wanted to see the pyramids in person. I did a liveaboard in the Bahamas and that was absolutely beautiful, so I would imagine the Red Sea is equal or better!
I love Egypt, I’ve been diving for 20’years but only been able to go to Egypt a handful of times, each time it’s been on a Liveaboard. My preferred destination is Northern Wrecks & Reefs, that’s the first ever one I did and still my fave. The Thistlegorm is awesome. I’d love to be able to go again soon. I like doing short videos and popping them on my UA-cam channel, not really for others but just for my own memories. Thanks for providing your content. I recently became a DM to help give back and encourage others to dive. All the best. David
What a great story! Where did you do your DM? Had a peak at your channel and I can see you've been to Lundy which is on my wishlist. 🦭Yes my first trip was Northern Wrecks as well, and the Thistlegorm was everything I imagined. The best wreck I've ever done, if maybe even best dive! - Sylvia
I have just passed my OW so want to look at diving somewhere with interest and the diving looks great. Hopefully in the next few weeks to go off season. Already on email subscription.
This video came just in time. Only recently got my PADI OW (in Thailand) but now want to see more and was already looking at Egypt to do so! So since I'm (not yet?) a hardcore diver, I think I would start with a stay in one of the resorts so I can take it easy in the beginning. Love to see more and excited to see if I won something!
Oh congrats! Welcome to scuba world! Where did you do your OW? Some of the liveaboards do have a minimum dive requirement. I agree that a dive resort is a good idea. You're diving in the same area so a good opportunity to get comfortable in a similar environment. Good luck with the giveaway
My only experience in Egypt is from Safaga at a resort. Very professional dive club associated with the resort and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and the courses I took with them. Haven't been back since 2010, I think I'm due... one day.
I always thought it was the Suez Canal and the Red Sea were undesirable waters to dive. Thank you for the last two videos to open my eyes! Something to check out to put on my bucketlist!
@@DIVEindotcom I see that now! I knew the canal was an important part of WW2, but always thought it was "dirty" water. I started looking at pricing for flights and liveaboards!
I plan a trip next year end of february into march. We want to go for up to 20 nights with 10-15 days diving. Your video help us to concider where we go and if we take a livaboard. Thanks :)
Where are you flying into? If you don't want to dive all your days then either a diving camp for 10days (so you can pick when you dive) or just from a local shop is a good option. Also a liveaboard for 7-10 days is a good way to get a lot of variety in.
@ We Booker yesterday our Trip for spring Next year as i mentioned. Will go to Hurgada for 18 Days to a Steigenberger Hotel directly at the red Sea coast and there ist a German Dive Center. Maybe later Next your we will do a Liveabroad at the south of Egypt :)
There are loads of shipwrecks, and many of them are between 15-30m so easily doable for a wide range of divers. On a good day, you can even see the Thistlegorm from the surface! - Sylvia
I would absolutely LOVE to go to Egypt for the diving there. You make it look so awesome. How long of a trip would it take to be able to get most of those locations covered? It's definitely on my "list" now. Thank you for sharing 😁😁
Thanks for kind feedback! This year was my first time diving in Egypt and I met so many people who have been going for years, and I can definitely understand why! As a rule of thumb I would say 7-10 days per region. A lot of liveaboards or dive resorts have week long trips.
Hi Mike, On a week long liveaboard you'll cover most of the sites and will have seen a lot of world-class diving. Check out this video, going more into detail about the trip options: ua-cam.com/video/oi3w4Y3Z5bc/v-deo.html
After Mexico, Egypt is definately my next destination. Stunning reefs, I will probabely try to just during resort trip to do my advanced water and nitrox certificates. Aftor those qualifications than I would love to try livaaboard.
This year was my first time liveaboard diving and it was such a great experience. Having everything all laid out for you, and just be in 100% scuba mode is amazing! Have you gone a liveabaord or Red Sea before?
Hello, where did the first version of the video go? :) In 5 days I'll be there again for 2 weeks - I think the 25th or 26th time ;) - mostly diving from land (beach access accessible by bus) or day boats. Rarely liveaboards - but mainly in the very south (Fury Shoals, St. Johns etc.). Last time in September I had a 3mm neoprene in 30 degree water - now the same with 1mm Thermoguard. In January (Breakers near Hurghada) then probably 5mm.
This video looks to be the same as the one posted already. But all three locations in the Red Sea looked amazing. I think the North Red Sea would be my top choice because of the wrecks.
Thank you for the video--very helpful! I'm heading to Hurghada this weekend (November 23-25, 2024). I'm staying at the Marriott in town, so I'm not looking for a liveaboard, but I am looking for a good dive shop in the area. Any recommendations or referrals would be greatly appreciated.
The Mariott is actually is right by where some of the liveaboards depart from so I've walked past it a few times, and I have seen they have their own dive shop. There are also a few dive shops scattered in and around the new harbour. - Sylvia

Did my open water a couple months ago in Dahab. Amazing experience. Highly recommend it. Also DiveIn didn’t disappoint with this one. Well rounded
My "discovery dive" was at Egypt. After 18 years as a 2 star CMAS diver I will go there next week.

Happy to hear that! Any particular liveaboard spark your interest?
@DIVEindotcom not yet. 2025 is booked, and i have tentative plans for 2026. So Egypt won't happen until 2027 at the earliest.

Great video on Egypt diving. Definitely added to my bucket dive list. Thanks for the info
Glad you enjoyed it!
My Dad is getting me into diving that shipwreck is really motivating!

I dove the red sea for over a yearlwhen I lived in Saudi Arabia. Fantastic diving
Oh that's great! Where abouts in the Red Sea did you go?

Quite the opposite! A lot of wreck diving is at the southern end of the Suez Canal, as it opens into the Red Sea.

Nice, where in Egypt?
The Red Sea is definitely beautiful! Visit Saudi Arabia too! Would love to dive with you guys in Jeddah! 😊

Would love to do Egypt live aboard trip!
Would love to do a liveaboard in Egypt. Never done a real liveaboard yet and most of my diving has been limited to North America.
Would love to dive Daedalus, South Red Sea: love the lighthouse and I love sharks and mantas! Subscribed and liked!
That's great diving as well. Thanks, and welcome!

How many passengers on the boat?
My bucket list is just getting bigger, and I don't even have a Nitrox certification yet.
Is it safe to go to the Red Sea now?
There is a lot going on in that region.
Can anyone please let me know?
