  • This is my very rough tutorial on how to quickly change and customize Scott & OVERWERK's awesome iPhone dock, which I've adjusted. Hopefully, with these changes, it will be easier for everyone to customize their docks.
I'm not going to lie… I'm proud. Like, the first time I changed a tire- proud. I took Scott's awesome model and kept messing with it until I could figure out how to make a user-friendly, easy-to-use parametric model. And,… I think I did it! This is my walkthrough of how to adjust the new model.

    THANK YOU Scott & OVERWERK
Thank you for this amazing model and design. We appreciate your giving us the F3d file to use and learn from. You inspired me to learn a little bit about Fusion 360 and to dive into Bambu Lab's community. I love your videos, your designs, and your humbleness. I am honored to get to work on this file and to witness your genius in action.
    GRATITUDE RAMBLING
I really hope this is the last video I make of this model and remix. It's been fun but at this point, even I'm tired of looking at iPhones and hearing my voice 😂.
Thank you to everyone who has given me feedback, messaged me about their gratitude, and boosted my model on Bambu's Maker World.
This has been a really fun (and extremely puzzling) challenge!

I tried to measure my case corner radius and change it in parameter, but it doesn't seem make a difference in the actual model. Hopefully you can help me? great video btw

Just finished a 25h print for my iphone 16 worked perfectly on my ender 3 v3 ke no problem with the magsafe going out or anything thanks so much

YAY! That makes me really happy because the Magsafe slot has been the weirdest range of results from everyone😅.
Thanks for letting me know and I'm glad it wasn't a waste of a 25h print!

So do you add .8 for the case thickness?

No, I'm sorry, I know I made this more confusing for everyone... On my table of measurements: I give you the measurements of the phone by itself (according to Apple) and those are in the green columns at the beginning. Then, I personally added .4 to each side for printer clearance/tolerance (I still don't know the right word to use here). On the phone's sides, since the buttons are usually .45 in height on each side, I'm adding .9 on top of the .4. All of those numbers are in the gold colored columns.
If your printer is like mine (a rough Ender 3 V2), then you need that extra clearance. Some people know their printers clearance/tolerance from running print tests. So if you have that, use those numbers that your printer can do. For a case, it depends on your phone case.
So what I would do (if you don't know your printers tolerance number), I would measure the phone case and add the .8 on top of it for length and height.
Fake example: You measure your phone case to be 80mm x 120mm, then the parameters you are inputting is 80.8mm x 120.8mm. For the radius, honestly holding it up to the screen and adjusting it visually will probably be your best bet. Then, you should export, and print the test slice (the floating frame next to the main dock body) to check your fitting before you export and print the entire dock.
      I hope that makes sense?

Love that! I thought I now had to take a full, time consuming, course on Fusion 360 to make your 3D model usable for me. On top of learning Blender and FreeCAD, if that wasn't enough. But with that clear and useful tutorial I can do it without much hassle. Great work 🙂. Big thanks!

Is-it possible to have original Fusion 360 file ? On website I can download only 3MF file. Thank you for your job !

So when I first uploaded it, I uploaded the 3MF and the top comment is still the first person complaining that I didn't upload the right one in the right place. I still don't know why it uploads that way... But anyway, on MakerWorld, if you click the 'Download STL/CAD Files' button the top folder has 3 different sizes of the f3d file (which is the one you want). And then every phone folder also has the f3d files too :) makerworld.com/en/models/617129#profileId-556745

thanks for the video, it was helpful, I'm not a fan of Fusion I'm more of a Solidworks guy.

Thank you! I am finding that pros and industrial engineers seem to favor Solidworks. I'm going to try it soon but I have a feeling everything will be backwards and I'm dreading it lol.
