    Hey man great content, thank you for sharing all the info, I just watched 4 of your videos. Just started flying drones last year and really focusing on FPV; however, I also like what you can get with a regular drone. Looking forward to learn more from you and be able to be succesful in my business as a drone pilot.

    Just a general thumbs up for what you're doing on this Channel, mate. I'm a 50year old noob from Australia, with Mini 2, and I consume as much as I can. Your stuff engages me more than any other channel. Keep up the great work 👍

    Hi Dylan, I just found your channel and blown away with the great content. I’m taking a beginner drone operator class in two weeks and studying to get my part 107. I’m really excited about this and hopefully I can get enough experience and knowledge to turn it in to a business in the next few years. After watching This video I was thinking this would be my first drone but the price like everything has increased several hundred dollars since the video was aired. What’s a good alternative you’d recommend for under a $1000?
    Thanks and keep the great videos coming!

      I would still recommend this drone, you can find a used one or refurbished one for under $1,000 like this one here ($859 DJI Air 2s: amzn.to/3Sw44r6)

    Hello Dylan, could you do a video talking about the infrared sensors and videos that you can take and analyze with dronedeploy, please? I am very interested and love all the content! Keep it up!

    Pura Vida Dylan! I used to live in CR, North West though. Awesome footage! I'm getting into drone mapping with Dronedeploy and looking for a beginner drone. I have the Phantom 4 pro but with the HD display. I don't think I can use it with my iPad unless I buy another remote control. I don't see the Air 2 s ondrone deploy's supported list, do you know anything about that? I have a big project coming in about a month and want to make the right purchase if you have any insight. I was looking at the Mavic air 2 but this one looks so much better! Thanks so much for all the content!

    Would you recommend the air 2s or the mavic 2 pro for mostly automated mapping and photogrammetry missions? I was also looking at the phantom 4 pro, but the compactness factor of the air 2s and m2 pro. I would like to start my own side business with the drone as soon as I get my extended certification (I am in EU).:Oh and I will be buying used.

    • @DylanGorman
      @DylanGorman  2 роки тому +1

      Mavic 2 pro (make sure you get plenty of batteries). And if you can get a Phantom 4 Pro I would push you to go towards that one!

    • @jt16omes
      @jt16omes 2 роки тому

      @@DylanGorman hey, thanks for the answer. Phantom is nice, but it will probably be easier to get permits with the mavic since it is smaller and lighter. Do you have any experience with topodrone ppk kits? It seems great that you can add PPK to a preexisting drone, although I will not be buying that right away.

      The reason why you suggest the Mavic 2 Pro and the Phantom 4 Pro, over the Mavic 3 and the new Mini 3 Pro, is because they are able to use third party software for pre-planned flights. Is the Phantom 4 Pro V2 a better option in your opinion? (but then we are leaving the under 1000$ range)
      Thank you and I’m enjoying your content.

    I think my first drone is going to be the original Mavic Air, local seller has a real nice like new barely flown package with 4 batteries and hard case with all the wiring adapters and plugs for different phones etc for 450. I'll use it to get experience and go through getting my 107 then buy a real nice one for actually trying to sell photos and services.

    I have just bought a Air 2S. When I turn it on the fans come on immediately, and are quite loud. Is that what yours does when turning on?

    Excellent video. Excellent channel. I want to transition away from being a commercial construction project manager to having my own drone business, but I've never flown one. I need to practice and learn on both a drone and software. I've watched a mapping video you did using Drone Deploy. If I purchase the Air 2s, can I use Drone Deploy with it?
    Also, can I attach things to the Air 2s such as lidar and RTK? My plan is to spend the next five months learning and practicing and come January, see if I can begin as a business. If things look promising I could pull the trigger on an expensive drone like the Matrice 30. I just moved to the opposite side of the country, in Arizona, and I don't really know anyone yet that I can use a mentor.

    • @DylanGorman
      @DylanGorman  2 роки тому

      Air 2s just received support! As for LiDAR and RTK that's not possible with a smaller drone like the Air 2s unfortunately. In terms of you wanting to practice and learn I am releasing a photogrammetry course next month and I am also offering 1 on 1 consulting now if you are interested in that.

    Hi, as first drone to practice with (later target is to get started with photogrammetry) do you think the upcoming mini 3 is good enough? (that it also rotate the camera to 90° to the top that can be good for working purposes)

    • @DylanGorman
      @DylanGorman  2 роки тому +1

      I would check out the most recent video I posted "How To Charge For Drone Services - In 2022", I have a section where I talk about what drone you should look into purchasing for drone mapping. I would say knowing DJI that the Mini 3 will take about 1 year before its supported by the main drone mapping software's!

    • @INFINITYSWEEP
      @INFINITYSWEEP 2 роки тому

      @@DylanGorman yeah but before buying a mapping drone I wanted to get a good drone anyway to practice with. I don't want to buy immediately a 4,500€ phantom 4 pro rtk for example.
      I would like to buy something cheaper to practice with.
      Do you think the mini 3 could be better than the air 2s because of it's 90° to the top camera?

    • @DylanGorman
      @DylanGorman  2 роки тому +1

      That’s a great question, and to be 100% honest with you I really don’t know! I’ve seen all the rumors for the mini 3 but again they are rumors not factual. When the mini 3 comes out I’ll be sure to pick one up and do a full review of it for my industry!

    • @INFINITYSWEEP

      @@DylanGorman ok thx a lot for the answer.
      Because my situation is that my target is working in photogrammetry industry, for the moment I want to get practice with, before buying a mapping drone (because they are really expensive), but I want a good drone anyway to begin with.
      The air2S has the ability to shoot better video and photos, but also the mini 3 has the ability to scroll the camera to 90° to the sky and I think that it is a really good feature for industry/commercial purposes like inspections or something like, if I am right.
      So it's an hard choice. Currently thinking of buying the mini 3 but also the air 2s is good too.
      The mini 3 is coming out on may 10 btw.

    • @DylanGorman

      Air 2s will be the better drone because of the sensor. Bigger sensor = better image quality. We have a custom drone that we just built that has a Sony camera on it and shoots 61mp and is full frame (yes this drone is $17k but for what we are doing is needed). Just my thoughts!

    The Air 2s DOES NOT have a Hasselblad camera. It's still a 1" sensor which is great but not Hasselblad. I think only the Mavric 2 pro and 3 have that.

      This drone has a better sensor and a few other special software tweaks but both drones are great!
