WOW. Inspiring discussion. We are a small, highly profitable and rapidly growing public company. In the past, the only function of our board (4 members, 2 independent) was to approve the financials. We need our board to become a real board and review strategy and management depth, and more. This video shows just how much work lies ahead of us to get a truly functional board. BTW, I graduated with an MBA in 1968 from Western (now Ivey). One of the highlights of my time was working as a research assistant under Professor Jack MacDougall. The topic? "Making Boards Effective". Jack was a wonderful understanding individual. Sadly I did not have the experience nor depth to understand the complexity of board/management relationships.
