Hi! I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your video :D . It really captures the passion and effort that went into creating the game. Even though I wasn’t working for Portal Games at the time this project was being developed, I’ve seen firsthand how much dedication went into making it a reality. It’s no secret that the delays brought frustration, and while some of the criticism toward the company was understandable, it’s disheartening to see how much negativity it sparked. Some people went as far as to accuse us of a scam-it’s such a shame to see that level of mistrust in a situation where the company really tried it best (while being ambitious, probably overly ambitious for a newcomer to crowdfunding). While your video doesn’t delve into behind-the-scenes details, your effort to piece together the story and explain the challenges was fantastic and much appreciated. Thank you for shining a positive and understanding light on this process. It’s great to see this kind of appreciation for the hard work that often goes unseen.
@@janbabinski573 huge compliment! Thank you. And from someone who knew the process closely. You mentioned behind the scenes. I’d love to expand to behind the scenes if I’m ever invited to. Thank you again.
I believe if you look in the app, there is a GF area that you input the email used on GF when pledging the game and the locked parts of the app will unlock.
The camp model is nice, but a bit gimickey. You rarely build up enough to really build the camp, and it's also not the easiest way of visualising it, so you will still need to use the number track in addition imo. But I enjoyed painting it alongside the mini's. I have the physical decks for the app cards, but haven't used them (or the app) yet at all, same with some of the other gameplay add-ons. I very much agree with the tutorial needing to be available in the base box, or as a print&play or whatever, as it's precisely new players that benefit most from it, and not the people who already own the game and get the deluxe upgrade. I also agree the triple-layer player boards shouldn't be crowdfunding exclusive. I also think they didn't need to be triple layer, double layer would have been fine, just flip top-bottom on the reverse side so that the holes are fully backed on both sides by the layer of the other side. If they wanted a bit more premium for the crowdfunding edition, even a single layer with punched holes for retail would just already be a massive gameplay improvement. Also, it's a shame they didn't just make a small one for Friday, as he also has a health track where the cube can be knocked off. The Book of Adventures is definitely the best part of this whole campaign, it just gives so much new options for the game and helps keep it fresh. It's a shame the collector's box doesn't have a spot to store it (nor for the fully assembled dice tower, nor for the gamer&sailor)
@@nienke7713 now if I could only insert your comment into the video. Good point about two layers instead of three. It’s fine. And Friday! Why no holes for Friday! Overall I am glad to have it, but I see this as a learning experience for Portal. And man that book of adventures. Possibly one of the greatest love letters to fans I’ve seen in any game.

thumbnail is ridiculous I love it
Thanks! I've got a thumbnail designer now that works with me. I really liked his idea for this one.
