  • In her urban planning and engineering architecture studies Elisabeth learnt very little about youth development and terms like inequity. From working experiences in different countries and cultures, she fully realized how the city environment impacts the wellbeing of its citizens. Youth and their wellbeing too often fall through the cracks of city planning and management. Today we live in an urbanising world, unprecedented in scale and speed, with the largest number of youth in history. Youth will shape our collective future, starting right now. So, we urgently need to intentionally improve how we design our cities, neighbourhoods and public spaces to nurture the wellbeing and healthy development of all of today’s youth, also empowering them for the pressing changes to our planet and societies. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
