@@ileryon4019 i know what your going for here, but i dont mean three separate dinks, i mean: "hey frost hes coming cat" ~turns around then guy swings and 3 bullets are now through my forehead~ triple dink....
Yeah I don't know if sometimes people are cheating but some people will insta kill you with a deagle while full running no matter the distance every dam time. You set up a good ambush and they turn around a corner and insta kill you before you get a shot off.
I still like the Quake armour system. It absorbs 2/3 of all damage, and 1 HP absorbed means 1 AP lost. Very simple. And yet controlling the armour is one of the most central aspects of strong Quake gameplay. Granted the fun part is not actually how armour works (it's pretty simple, at least in Quake 3), but how it influences the strategy and map control. I mean earlier Quake games had more complicated armour systems and it made only a small difference to how you play.
SG 553: 100% AWP: 97.50% Ah yes, a 5.56 rifle round beating a .300 Magnum sniper rifle round in armor penetration, becus it's cs go. Also, in light of a guy in the replies: Glock: 47% CZ-75: 77.65% Tec-9: 90.6% And all use 9mm rounds. But meh, Valve threw their logic out the window the moment they got rid of their Tec-9’s fully automatic properties.
i mean csgo is a game right? they don’t have to be realistic.. like in real life we cannot do strafe jumps but that mechanic suits in csgo, making the game more skill-based valve must have some purpose by using those specific numbers in armor penetration :)
Back in CS:Source times, there was a rumour, that the helmet only protects you from a single bullet. So if I got shot in the head but survived the round I always rebought.
Maybe it's just because I come from CS, but I hate games where armor completely blocks shots. It feels like such a weird mechanic for somebody to just have a divine shield in an FPS and it can be so frustrating.
@@gyrozeppeli00 Apex Legends is also extremely frustating with players sometimes having 300 health on top of the fact that the rifles in that game fire paintballs instead of bullets
The Kevlar and the Helmet is still logic: we buy them but where are they? They only showed up in Dangerzone, Both of them must also showed up In Wingman, Casual, Deathmatch, Arms race and evem the Matchmaking

but those should be the percentages right? For m4 calculating: 100 / 0.7 x (1-0.7) / 2 = 0.214 = 21.4% and ak : 100 / 0.775 x (1-0.775) / 2 = 0.145 = 14.5% Or did miss something
I do not comment very often, but I have to say: this is one off these videos, why I fucking love your content! Your vibe and the way you put focus on those oddly specific questions really puts a smile on my face. Thanks for making my day a little more interesting:)
I started watching your Videos actively when I stopped playing actively. Every Video is Like a "aaaaah thats why" Moment for all the Times I was raging and blamed the Game to be buggy
To put it simple: -Don't buy a helmet -Buy a vest when you have 40% or less of armor remaining in mid game or end game rounds (All the time if you have enough money to buy a house) -Counter Strike will either way make you lose it no matter what. -If you have a good aim, and a loosened bolt in your head, then it is not entirely necessary to buy a vest
8:06 Guess what? Real life vests also aren't completely bulletproof. Energy of a bullet has to go somewhere and if it hits you, you may have broken ribs. So they made CS:GO armor right.
Not "right". "Realistic" is a better word. Imo the armour system becomes "right" when it is interesting and intuitive, not when somebody can hit you once such so you will die from internal bleeding. CS:GO is a competitive shooter, not a simulation. Edit: corrected factual error.
The vest itself would be "right" if it didn't cover your arms, and if the helmet's health pool wasn't shared with the chest armor's. It also makes 0 sense that the SG552 has higher penetration than the AWP. Same goes for the Deagle and Revolver. Is it somewhat accurate? Yeah, sure. But nowhere near to realism. Armor also doesn't reduce your movement which I bet you is something to take into consideration if you really want to make it "right". But no... Not even a slight slow-down. The armor is not right, nor realistic, it's just done in a way that won't automatically make the team with more money have an unfair advantage. But if you wanna compare it to other games, such as the old CoDs and such, then yeah... It is more realistic. Just remember to avoid mentions about games such as Insurgency
So do you prefer the shields mechamic from valorant then? Simpler system. Blocks 60% but usually runs out in a single gunfight. Acts much more like 50 extra health points. I dont like it personally bc its a 1000$ sink every round so long as you take damage where as cs:go armor is can carry over between rounds and still give you the same benefits
I would only argue the "armor = percentage of health against damage" idea would be okay to use if it is within context, like how swords bounce off a knight's heavy armor but blunt weapons like maces and clubs do just fine in crushing the person inside. Maybe some armor in modern-era games could do something similar based on the weapons they're up against, like small arms fire vs rifle fire and so on. One game that takes the medieval approach really well is Exanima, which is a weird physics-based combat game that's really fun and takes stuff like armor and weapon type into a lot of consideration
This is one thing I like about valorant more Armor is super simple, instead of helmets/vests and having to deal with percentages and all that, you either buy a small shield which blocks 25 damage, or a large shield which blocks 50 damage. Makes a lot more sense and makes me feel more comfortable in my "do I rebuy armor this round or not" debate
It's confusing, but thats how armor works in real life as well if you think about it. A kevlar vest stops the bullet from going through you, but due to the bullets velocity, it still hurts like he'll and after a lot of shots, the vest gets worn off
One game that makes armour extremely interesting is the physics-based dungeon crawler Exanima. It has probably the best armour mechanics I've seen in any melee combat game.
I find Arma3 s armor system quite good. The armor only protects when it's actually hit, and depending on the gun the damage varies from incredibly minor (plates vs pistol) to the same as without armor (7.62 and up versus a light police vest). Armor damage is not included in stock arma as it does not REALLY apply inside a combat situation.
The damage reduction armor provides is much less important than aimpunch reduction, at least in higher levels where being quick in getting shots of is key. Don't buy armor because you can survive one or two more shots, buy it because it will help you win fights
The funny thing about armor is that in real life, ceramic plates are designed to block several bullets (Usually anywhere between 6-10) from most assault rifles. And a much larger number of bullets from smaller arms! You might get a bruise but the bullet would have been completely stopped if it hit the plate. Even after it breaks it still offers protection, as the bullet might still hit the parts of it that didnt break as much. So armor in real life IS like what you described at the end of the video. it blocks several hits COMPLETELY before breaking. (Though even after it 'breaks' it still has a chance at providing protection)
It actually makes sense to aim low at the point where the stomach meets the legs in many scenarios. Rationale: The hitboxes here are both bigger and give more damage. The stomach is a 1.25 x multiplier and the legs are unprotected by armor which on average is as effective as the 1.25x multiplier.
Woah I never knew that some aim punch remained when I got shot in chest with kevlar. Would explain some CS:GO'd moments where I swear I was on the top of the head
I never rebuy armour but recently i was in a faceit match and i was at 3 armour left, repurchased kevlar and saved 350$, because having max money from not dying was vital to have those 350$
