dude, this was the best autumn of my life, so many new things happened, and I constantly listened to your albums during this time. Now every time I listen to your tracks my soul feels so good
hiiii i found this while scouring youtube for lemon meringue die unreleased songs and this is absolutely killer !!! im so sad i got here too late to get a tape
I can't get enough of lemon meringue die dude! And thank you so much :) Id like to try to make you a tape or a cd. My tape machines broken so it may have to be cd :-/ DM me on Instagram @afuckingbasement and I'll try n send something your way :p
I took the picture right after I was done recording the last song for it (haunted) where I just pointed my phone at my window from where I was sitting. I think it fits them too because that's just where I was at the time. (Literally lol). Thank you for the nice comments dude 🩷
I recorded most of the tracks for a song onto audacity in mono, ran it through my tape recorder and back, then added any left and right stereo tracks I wanted then resampled those tracks to blend in with the tape quality. Basically tape recorder does all the work after you record the initial song. Multi track tape recorders don't get this effect either so don't spend money on one lol And thank you :-)
a basement yeah of course ! I’ve always adored this form of music and it resonates with me a lot and I’m just trying to understand how I can make that music. I’ve considered getting a tape machine but right now I’m considering just buying VSTS to simulate the tape sound I want.
@@idothings6923 there's ups and downs to both I guess, there's authenticity in a tape recorder but you don't get as much say over specific balancing (at least not without a lot of back and forth/ trial & error) but I think the washed out tape sound comes out perfect every time. You only need a recorder, one tape, and aux chord which is like $10 all together at a thrift store. I'm very biased though. I'd say give tape stuff a try, it's much easier than you'd think, and probably cheaper. if it's too hard or not what you're looking for, you won't be out too many dabloons. I look forward to hearing what you make either way though! And if you do end up fucking with tapes I'd be glad to help with any problems you run into. I sound like a tape salesman
a basement hell yeah I really appreciate this ! And yeah I think I’ll give a standard tape recorder a try I’ll probably record through my DAW and then do some final mastering on the cassette.
@@idothings6923 ya man, just play around with it, and don't get a walk-man it's gotta be like the medium brick recorder things. If you wanna message me at any point (outside of a youtube comment section lol) my instagram is @afuckingbasement or my email is jojom3001@gmail.com ☮️
