It may also be the shock of seeing him all grown up. All this time he’s been looking for his little boy. Now he is confronted with a grown man. One who is angry.
I also think it's partly because he's in shock to finally have found him after all this time
Kinda wish, in their arguing, Rumple had made a comment about how he's spent centuries looking for his son. I don't think, at this point, Emma knows how old he is.
Amazing how he one moment yelling at Emma for breaking there deal but then when his son comes in he cowards in corner in fear

I think in the end Emma worked with Hook, but I still miss Neal/Bae - it's a shame he couldn't have at least appeared in Rumple's finale (due to actor unavailability apparently).

Hook kind of allowed himself to get beaten because he wanted to show Belle how much of a coward Rumple was and that he needed to hit someone who wouldn't fight back and he did beat Belle's father when he was tied up and he did beat the Sheriff of Nottingham but he was drunk and he couldn't fight back if he wanted to

@@hennessygarciahg ya that’s true but she yelled at Henry so Henry doesn’t see Emma and rumple fighting like yelling and then Neal came in because so his father doesn’t hurt Emma and then when Neal asked Henry how old is he Henry said I’m 11 and Neal said is this my son and Henry said mom and then Emma said to them both yes
haha you are right. And i think the reason of why everyone is scared about him is because: In season 1 he was a powerful man, because the monie and the contacts. And because everything turned out the way he wanted, always. And in season 2, he has his powers again. and he is the dark one! he has a strong reputation

well, in "the outsider" Rumple says "no, no magic" and start to hit Hook with his cane. If he can be fast with the first punch, i think he can do a lot. And he was a pirate! ok, a pirate with a lot of bad luck i have to admit..
Please please upload the full scene from this episode where rumple is at the front and meets the seer for the first time, and then when he realizes she was right about the war and hurts his foot

In storybrooke rumples a powerful wizard but out in the real world in the streets of NYC he just very very very very old crippled man trying to look and sound tough
if emma didin't mean much to neal and he had completly let go of her he would have gotten rid of the dreamcatcher but he kept cause he still loves ssure he moved on with his life but this episode proved he still loves her he even came back for her to protect her from his dad if rumole kills henry or emma baelfire will hate him for life and that would be the last straw. I've never been a fan of henry it's true i wished they had changed him to a different he's annoying and now he's pissing me off
