Thank you Christine. Lovely tutorial, I think I will be making some of these. I use this type of hat when I do my baking, makes sure no hairs go into the mixture. 😊 xx
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I completely understand! I do that when I seem to, mistakenly, think I can hand stitch black on black (making a raven) in the winter, at night with electric light!!
I was given a couple of caps similar to this when I had chemo. I still wear them, they are great for bad hair days. Now that I have seen how they are go together, I'm going to make a few more.
Thank you! I was scared at first as just watching I couldn’t figure out what you did with stitching around the knot, but it made more sense once I actually started making it. I also found, after making two using materials that stretch as yours does, that I can make it using t-shirt material. I made sure the stretch it along the fold and it works fine. So for those watching who doesn’t have the same stretch material, a regular jersey/knit could work :)
I love your videos and I have a friend I would love to make a few of these for. It was very difficult to see how you sewed the part with the twist because of the black fabric. I think I understand what to do but I’m not quite sure. I will try to sew one and go from there. 😊
Great video! Like you said, using black made it difficult at times to see what you were pinning or sewing but I think this cap is still very doable. Thank you for sharing your time and expertise.
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs looking forward to it being filmed using a lighter fabric. Sadly my eyes aren’t what they used to be. Holding my tongue to the left or right just doesn’t help with vision, only concentration. 😁
Nice pattern, however not able to see the sewing around the knot at all( black material). Trying to follow just verbal description only produced frustration and wasted material. Usually have no problem with your patterns and verbal instructions. Could you do a video with lighter colored fabric?
This is a great video….my sister have stage 4 brain cancer and I would like to make a few for her…..although your instructions are clear it’s just really hard for me at least to see with the dark fabric you are using 😔 can you maybe use lighter fabric to where it’s easier to see. ( just saying 😉)
Hi thank you for the tutorial I did enjoy your video I just couldn’t get the end part because I couldn’t see with the black fabric. Can you do it in a lighter color?
Is there a way to to make one thats a *one size fits most* I wanna make these for when I do my shows (to donate) but I dont have time to make a size per everybody's head if that makes sense?!?
I think I will make some to use for winter caps because I like the twist much better than regular toboggan caps! Much more fashionable, in my opinion. Thank you for the how to video!
This looks really great and I’d love to try them but I can’t see what to do where all the knots are. So is it sewn perpendicular to the other seams? Hmmmmm. I don’t suppose you’d do another video on a lighter colored fabric? I’d like to make these for donations to the chemo center right down the road from my home.
Do you have a venmo to donate to the cause :D I made a red one for my aunt and I thiiiink I got the gist of the last bit but would be curious to see a better angle to confirm! I plan to make her some more in different colors as the seasons change!
Christine I can't tell you how many times I have recommended this tutorial to people on an aussie sewing page I am a member of. Is it possible you could do another using lighter fabric. The black is very hard to see. I have made 2 using a bamboo lycra and rayon lycra print.
yay I made one! Super! The most problem was how I'm getting it on my head. I found that my dogsitter's neighbour is going through chemo and I'm giving her a cap :)
Looks very simple. I would say that after you cut the circle you should not put right sides out if you want to see the right side once you turn the hat inside out.
This would also be great for doing the gardening, stops those pesky critters getting in your hair when your weeding or pruning. Thank you and stay safe. 🤗
Love no annoying music, easy to follow your great clear information
Thanks so much. I'll be redoing this one soon as the black fabric made it difficult for people to see😀
Thank you Christine. Lovely tutorial, I think I will be making some of these. I use this type of hat when I do my baking, makes sure no hairs go into the mixture. 😊 xx
That's a great idea Sharon. It would be very useful for me too🤪
Thank you for sharing your hat pattern and straightforward tutorial on how to make it.Enjoyed all your videos, can’t wait for the next one.
Thank you Eve 😊
I like this pattern, thank you, but it’s really difficult to see what you’re doing with the seams by the knot (inside) as the fabric is so dark.
Sorry about that Armande. It wasn't until I was almost finished, that I realised black was a poor fabric choice for this project 😀

I might have to start wearing them during winter 🤔 😁
It is a nice pattern. Unfortunately couldn't see properly with the black material.
Thanks Alina. Yes, it was a poor fabric choice 😀
Thanks for sharing. It's a shame that the fiddliest bits were impossible to see due to the dark fabric :(
I agree. I'll redo this video in better fabric to show the twisted area 😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs that'd be great! Thanks :-)

Let me know how you go Margo. I'm going to redo this video in more suitable fabric 😀
Yes, holding your tongue the right way is so important. 🤗
Thank you for the tutorial.
It sure is Karen. Crossing your eyes helps too🤪😄
Never thought I would need a chemo cap video.
Now I do...thank you Christine.❤
Oh I'm so sorry Barbara. wish you all the best😊

You're very welcome. I'll redo this video with more suitable fabric 😁

I do plan to do this one again Teresa. I just have to source some suitable fabric on my next trip to a larger town😀

Thank you. I will do this video again, just as soon as I can get to a fabric store. It's about an hour away. 😀
I've watched several videos, but you make it so easy to understand. Thank you for your time and effort!
You're very welcome Marsha. Thank you😀
Hi thank you for the tutorial I did enjoy your video I just couldn’t get the end part because I couldn’t see with the black fabric. Can you do it in a lighter color?
Thanks Jayne. This has been on my list to redo for some time. I just need to find more suitable fabric😁
Can you please do a video on how to do a fleecy hat, with calculations and measurements for shaping the head. Thank you so much.
Great suggestion Nirmala😊
Great idea. But it would be easier to see if you used a lighter coloured fabric.
Yes, you are right Gwyn. I have to do this one again in better fabric 😀
I really want to make this for my girlfriend but I cannot figure out the stitching. Cannot see on the dark fabric
Sorry about that Laurie. Next time I get suitable fabric, I'll do this one again so it's easier to see😁
Is there a way to to make one thats a *one size fits most* I wanna make these for when I do my shows (to donate) but I dont have time to make a size per everybody's head if that makes sense?!?
That's a lovely gesture Wynette. I wonder if you could have an adjustable velcro strap on the back similar to caps😁
I think I will make some to use for winter caps because I like the twist much better than regular toboggan caps! Much more fashionable, in my opinion. Thank you for the how to video!
That's a great idea Laura 🙂
My baba would make and wear these when she was battling cancer. Thank you for sharing this.💗
You're most welcome 😊
I love this but as it’s black it’s hard to see sone of the elements
I'll be doing this again in better fabric Gemma 😄

Thanks Karen. I'm going to find another fabric and redo the video. Will try to get on to it today 😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs Aren’t you wonderful! Thanks! BTW. Love all your vids.
Did you ever make an updated video with lighter fabric for this?
I haven't had yet. I need to get to a fabric store for some stretchy fabric. It's not near me😁
Do you have a venmo to donate to the cause :D I made a red one for my aunt and I thiiiink I got the gist of the last bit but would be curious to see a better angle to confirm! I plan to make her some more in different colors as the seasons change!
@@pegachick I still haven't done this yet. I need to get some fabric, but the store is almost an hour away. 🤪

Thanks Sue, I've been meaning to do this one again for a while. I'll try to find some time soon😀
How big is the circle
Rita, the circle is the same size as the head you want to make it for. Measure all around, and that is what you will use😀
yay I made one! Super! The most problem was how I'm getting it on my head. I found that my dogsitter's neighbour is going through chemo and I'm giving her a cap :)
That's fabulous. I hope your neighbor fares well 😃
Good description. It's a shame it wasn't in another colour so we could actually see how to sew it correctly. Will give it a go.
Angela, I'll be doing this video again in better fabric. Hoping to record it this week, so it won't be far away😀
Looks very simple. I would say that after you cut the circle you should not put right sides out if you want to see the right side once you turn the hat inside out.
Thanks Bev😀
A great turban for bad hair days. Wonderfull instructions as allways, I might have to twist my own arm to hunt some fabric at the op shops!
Haha, just don't tell anyone Jenny 🤣
This would also be great for doing the gardening, stops those pesky critters getting in your hair when your weeding or pruning. Thank you and stay safe. 🤗
That's a great idea PUG. I'm going to do another similar one for longer hair to put ponytail through. That would be great for the garden too 😀
Thank you for this pattern. I will need to make some of these within the next 3 weeks for starting chemo.
All the best for your treatment Lesley🙂
It's hard to see where you're stitching because the fabric is black
Yes, I realised too late. I should have used a better fabric 🤪
kinda wished it was shown in a lighter color, hard to see where you sewed. but like the result
I agree Doris. I'm hoping to do this in better colours again soon 😀
Very clever construction technique !
Thank you so much
You are welcome Sophie 🙂
Had to watch this two times to understand. Thank you
Thanks Cynthia. I'm going to redo this with better fabric 😁
Thanks for sharing. Love the idea for a shower cap
I might try it out myself 😁
Great, so easy! Thank you!!
Thanks Vesna😀
Cute could add some jewels to it
Ooh, that's a fun idea Khristy 🙂
what size seam allowance did you use
Kay, I usually use the edge of my foot for a guide. Usually about 1/4 - 1/2" seam allowances 😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs Thank You
So, so cool, thank you x
You are so welcome Carolina😀
