this is the exact way to use the bottom of a t-shirt, cut off just at the armpit of the sleeves. Take the circle of fabric and loop around your head in the same manner. We teach this in the cancer classes in Look Good Feel Better (through the american cancer society....free to every patient). Thank you for posting this. And isn't it great that simply tying the corners work well - for those who don't have machines or know how to even begin sewing.
This is great! We need videos like this. Losing your hair presents a whole new batch of concerns, about material, comfort and security. After spending a couple years under a scarf, here's a couple items you might like. Undercaps are essential to keep your scarf in place, but they can be hot, if they're jersey, and most of them are. Lace undercaps are very breathable, come in colors, easy to tie, and so good looking you'll want some of it peeking out! Combine that with a gauzy viscose, or chiffon. You will make it through summer heat without sweating your brains out! To keep the scarf on without hair, I use elastic with silicone grip, place that over my undercap, and tuck under about 2in fabric around my head in front. Lasts all day!
You are truly a beautiful person your positive attitude makes losing eyelashes eyebrows and hair not so scary and you’re so beautiful inside and out I am so grateful to have found you on UA-cam
All I can say is Thank you, so much! One of the things that bother me most about my condition was losing my hair. Your positive attitude about the whole subject is so refreshing and wonderful. You're the first one to tell me that it's OK if it happens. You're wonderful! Thank you!
Thank you SO much for this lovely comment! Looking for practical advice on hair loss on the internet can sometimes feel like opening a door to a world of negativity, so I want to be the opposite of that -- and I promise you it's not an act or a "brave face", it's just the truth :) It's a privilege to make these videos for you all!
Thx so much 💓 Have been in an absolute panic but you have made new cancer journey so much less stressful. Hope you're feeling the big hug I just sent you
I have alopecia universalis, started balding at 18. Im now 54. Your videos came up on my recommended. I will give the brow tutorial a try. I dislike the looks i get from people because i have no lashes and brows. You are so gorgeous. God made only so many perfect heads... and the rest have hair. ❤
Definitely the best wrapping tutorial I've seen yet. The headbands are pure genius and the volume is perfect. Thanks so much for sharing. By the way, who needs hair with a face and smile that beautiful!
You are a life saver. I tried to do headcover as the Jewish women do, I’m not smart enough to get that all done but you with no knots no fuss no work just put it on so easy. Thank you. I love it.
Perfect, I am making face masks for my very large family and don't have time to make time consuming complicated projects. I am a wife/mother/ grandmother and I am in my seventies. I am losing my hair big time! I am glad I discovered your channel. I will be watching more of your videos. You are very pleasant and beautiful! Blessings and thank you!
Sorry, so much time since you’ve posted this. I know you probably won’t see this but you are amazing. You have such a natural beauty and your eyes show kindness. I just wanted to let you know I’ve subscribed after watching your videos. I have had tric my whole life, and been through breast cancer from Sep-21. My hair is slowly growing back, but not my eyelashes or eyebrows. Beautiful people like yourself, put yourself out there to teach and help others. Thank you. I hope all is happy and well in your life 🌸🌸🌸
I am a cancer patient and will be losing my hair soon. Thank you for making these videos. Very informative and I like the different colors you use. Hope you're doing well. God bless :)
Thank you so much for this! I am a cancer patient and once I lost my hair, I felt that my face lost a lot of its femininity. Your videos open my mind to a lot of creative ideas! I am so excited to get started and see what I can create! I appreciate you sharing these. This has made my day🥰
I underwent my first chemo infusion yesterday. I was told hair loss would begin around the third session, two weeks away. Your tutorial is wonderful! Sometime this week, I want to go to the fabric store, buy yardage, and do just what you've done in this video. Thank you so much for sharing! ❤❤❤ Diane, St. Louis, Missouri, USA
Amazing, what a lovely simple thing, and what a fabulous personality - you really sparkle, gorgeous smile. I'm a photographer so this is a genuine comment, not intended to flatter or decieve!
Wow you have just changed my life in a single video thank you from a brand new hair loss ( diagnosed alopecia) lady. I have all these scarves and no clue
Wow! that's amazing. So quick and easy. I am a Christian and I do head cover 90% of the time. Mostly I just use a kerchief and have been looking around for a more fancy way of head covering. Thank you for this. xx
You are so beautiful, charming and engaging! Thank you for sharing your scarf techniques. I’ve lost my hair due to the chemotherapy I’m receiving for breast cancer and am finding your tutorials immensely helpful. 💕💕💕
Many years ago when we lived in Kansas City, KS, my husband and I had a friend with alopecia. She also has a vibrant and fun personality. Now I have just completed my second chemo treatment and am needing help. Then I found your helpful tutorial! I had seen an Australian company that uses infinity scarves called WrapdInLove that uses what you show! But, it's like cheating since it is pre-done! I do need to find a skull cap. That does seem quite handy - not showing a bit of skin when you don't want to! ;) I've seen some in bamboo and in cotton. Many have multiple seams. That looks counterproductive. And I find that I am rambling. Sorry. I adore your ideas, and will try to find some of the colorful looser headbands. That is an amazing idea that seems so simple, but easily forgotten. Thank you!
I really want to let you know that I’m sure you have changed women’s life’s,in what you do my love, your eye brow video was so amazing, love you…xoxoxo
I also have alopecia! Universalis specifically. I LOVE you for sharing this. I’m obsessed. I’m going to my local fabric store TODAY because I’m just fed up with buying scarves that slip off my head. This looks like I could go dancing and it WOULDNT MOVE! That’s a goal. I’m a huge dancer and I’m a freakin fancy queen like you. I LOVE glamorous and feminine looks and this one completely hits the mark with the headwrap and the headbands.
About 50%-75% of my hair fell out this year due to stress and I need *easy* coverings for warmth and sunburn prevention as I am a disaster with a sewing machine. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VID!! I cannot wait to get my hands on some knit fabric and make a million of these!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have just lost all my hair due to chemo after breast cancer. I am not into wigs but the chemo head coverings are rather boring and I wanted to be able to make something colour and fun to wear. I stumbled on your video and it has given me lots of ideas. I have some suitable material in my stash as I recently got back into sewing and I shall be getting creative soon. Many thanks once again.
I love this! Struggling with hairliss, almost bald, and decided to try scarves, because wigs are just out of the question. You give me such hope. Im off to experiment!
You are an amazing woman plus so beautiful. As an 80 year old whose alopecia just decided to take all my hair, there will be no experimental drugs & wigs have such a negative connotation with everyone and obvious to most people........this is now my answer. Thanks again. Ann in CA
You are beautiful and a good instructor. I’m going thru chemo and needed a variety of head scarfs and hats. This looks like something I can do too! I sew and am going to love this project! Thank you so much! 💝🇺🇸
Update: After I watched your video I cut my fabric and was able to make myself the head scarf! I love it!!! It feels more secure than most of the scarfs I bought recently. I’m so glad I came across your tutorial ❤️🙂
Thank you ,thank you. I aquired Covid in November 2020, I was ventilated and in hospital until January 2021, as a result most of my hair fell out. It's just beginning to grow back but as you know it's April. I am still tethered to oxygen, however with my husband's help I'm venturing out again and wigs are okay but often take too long for everyday errands, your practical headcovers are brilliant, beautiful, and oh so simple, you're a life saver.Thank you.❤😊
Okay. First of all, you are beautiful! And an absolutely adorable teacher with an attitude about hair loss that puts me to shame. Cancer has reared its ugly head for me this past year, and while I have a couple of wigs, the turbans you wear are stunning. Thanks for taking the time to show us what you’ve learned on your journey.
You are so beautiful, and have such a sweetness about you. I have been losing my hair for awhile now. I have been thinking abt wearing scarves or head wraps, but am intimidated by it. Plus I don't like things on my head. I need to get over that though. Thank you so much for your positive attitude, and sharing an easy way to wrap your scarf. 🤗
Ive just been diagnosed with FFA - Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia and so this video is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Your presentation skills are AMAZING, you’re beautiful too, I just love your relaxed, easy attitude and your suggested technic of tying seems straightforward. Can’t wait to give it a go. Thank you so very much. 💖
Girl, I made SURE to subscribe to your UA-cam Channel!!! You are a Delight to watch!!! I've said it before, and I now say it again: I feel better just seeing you do what you do!!! Yah/God Bless you!!! 🙏 You TRULY bring HOPE to us women who have to deal with this condition!!! And you do it SO BEAUTIFULLY!!!! Thank you so VERY much again!!! ❤💕💞🌹️👍👍👍👏👏👏👏 🙂👋👋👋
You are so beautiful a glad I was sent your video I ‘ e started chemo and painfully waiting for my hair to fall out… this will help a lot will check your other videos
Oh my … I had a pretty lousy start to my day, and I took a break to look up some content on making a Bandana. I am so glad I did. Your video is a fabulous tutorial, but even better is your presentation style: warm, approachable and entertaining. Also: so beautiful. I’m just some vision-impaired, slightly deaf bloke taking a tea break while looking for advice on head coverings (to go under my welding mask: yip, I’m the blind engineer everyone is talking about!). What a great find! I'm so happy I found your video. I didn't realize I could make myself a chemo head wrap because, yes, the ones offered are ugly. You, my friend, Carly are a Godsend and have saved me from having to buy an ugly one . And I'm glad they are ugly and it's taken me this long to try finding one because now I can use your ideas. Thank you, girlfriend!
This needs to be shown to all Cancer clinics! The best look I have ever seen and 1000% better than the gathered turbans given to patients. I will share your method to as many people as I can. (As a sidenote: you are so very beautiful and your eye makeup is fantastic.) Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! Experiencing alarming hair loss right now. This is beautiful and simple. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that you have gorgeous features and lovely, charismatic personality.
This is awesome, thank you! I'm lazy as well, so this is perfect - easy, yet clever and it looks really cool! I'll head to a material shop tomorrow, hopefully I'll find some suitable fabric. And I have to say you are really beautiful and I enjoyed the tutorial not only for its content but also for the way you speak and smile, such a joy! Thank you
you're like the most wonderful person I've ever seen? i really want to be like you bcuz you have that kind of really nice harry potter personality. i hope you're doing well!!!!
Hi Carly! About to have another brain surgery soon for cancer. I wear glasses, so I don’t want to cover my ears. Tried this last night without covering my ears. It seemed to work, so going to try this out today 🤞
This is great. I have had NO luck with infinity scarves staying on. I use a great Wrapunzel shaper with a no slip velvet head band with all my wraps. I have to try this. Ps. This might have been clearer if your wrap was a lighter color. But since I've been wrapping for a couple years now, it made total sense to me. Lost my hair from chemo and it didn't grow back well. Several bald spots!
Thank you so much. I am loosing my hair as I undergo chemo. I just wanted a way to look like myself again, and not have people stare. With your tutorials and a bit of practice, I think I will.❤
You are amazing! I just love your tips! I appreciate you attitude. I will be having surgery on the cancer on my scalp which will be leaving me permanently bald in huge patches. I’m allergic to most synthetic materials and am trying to figure out how I can leave the house and not cause a negative reaction with the people I contact. Wiglets are out because I won’t have a smooth surface or hair with which to attach them. I’m always so warm (I care for my 94 yo Mother so the house is 80 degrees minimum) so a full wig is out. I’ve bought some simple pretied scarves but find them itchy. So the idea of buying my own material and wrapping my head like you have done a real game changer. Thank you very much for your video. I’m struggling with this idea of going out in public but being the provider I don’t have a choice. In researching what to do I came across your video. After my tears stopped I had to comment. I don’t do things like that but you inspired me so much. Bless you! If you come up with any ideas with my situation, please contact me especially if you do another video! I can’t thank you enough.
Wishing you luck and strength!! I really recommend the Bea caps made by a UK company called Suburbanturban (they ship internationally) - they are 20s/30s style and are soft and light 💜
Wow thanks, live in North Pole Alaska and my head gets cold, I wear up to 3 hats to go outside, 1 hat in the house. I will go visit the fabric and drug stores!
You are so beautiful. Thank you for helping me I have been wearing baseball caps and beanies in the cold weather. But it is so hot here in Florida that I am not sure if this style would be too hot to wear. I definately want to try though as it is so elegant 😊
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS LESSON!!! You look great in your turban & I'm going to my local material store tomorrow. Thank you a million times over for this beautiful & clever idea xoxo
You are gorgeous.. Thank you so much. I have been looking for a way to make head covers my own way. The options out there are so ugly. 🙈😜 I have just returned from the fabric store where I purchased several 1/2 yards of luxurious materials and was going to try something to make this hairless thing attractive. What luck I came across your video. Fantabulous job! Thanks for sharing..💜💜💜
Thank you so much for this video! I am going through chemotherapy and my hair is coming out by the handfuls now! I’ve been looking for tutorials or patterns for head scarves and yours is by FAR the best I’ve seen. I’ll be going to my fabric store tomorrow to get some! Again, thank you! Becky

The lace cap does sound very fun. There could be a lot of looks with that sort of layering.
You are truly a beautiful person your positive attitude makes losing eyelashes eyebrows and hair not so scary and you’re so beautiful inside and out I am so grateful to have found you on UA-cam
First of all, who needs hair when you have that gorgeous face?!?!
Second, thank you for such a simple yet thorough tutorial.

So simple and so beautiful. These look elegant and beautiful no matter what your hair condition is. Great video !
I am losing my hair from a very serious case of Covid. I didn’t know how I was going to deal with it, but now I do! Brilliant. Thank you so much.
I'm so sorry! I hope your feeling better now! God bless you!🙏💕

I do the same, and have alot of fun with it! I actually get more compliments on my wraps than I ever did on my hair! 👏👌❤
Absolutely beautiful young woman...thank you for the inspiration, dear!
Losing my hair due to chemo and your videos have helped! You are stunning btw!! Gives me hope I can be beautiful without my hair too.

Super cute! I look forward to trying this when I lose my hair. I start chemo next week 😊😊
Thank you so much! My hair is coming out due to chemo. Love this so much!
Wow thanks, live in North Pole Alaska and my head gets cold, I wear up to 3 hats to go outside, 1 hat in the house. I will go visit the fabric and drug stores!
This is so lovely, you are so authentic and positive!
Sweet love this ❤️
You are gorgeous.. Thank you so much. I have been looking for a way to make head covers my own way. The options out there are so ugly. 🙈😜
I have just returned from the fabric store where I purchased several 1/2 yards of luxurious materials and was going to try something to make this hairless thing attractive.
