Atingkok Sidaba means the void, not exactly space or emptiness. But it is nothing but something that covers the entire cosmos. He caused Creation out of his will. But this task was carried out by Ashiba the aspect of him that gave birth to physical dimensions. Whereas Atingkok is completely non-dimensional non existence, nothingness, no energy, no causality. So Ashiba created the five elements and made the cosmos and our earth and living and non living entities.
Thang ta is the way or the Art Ashiba used to create or destroy the Creation. It's learnt to master the non physical dimension and also to bring well being and eventually Aran Khubam Fangba or closely liberation.

Thanks for sharing the correct details. Could you also kindly translate the short clip about the swords from Manipur. What is he saying about the British swords. Thanks ua-cam.com/video/btA2H7WJAFc/v-deo.html

@@kalaristudies “The first sword was his master’s Thang(Sword). This is a Meitei Thang that was used before the British era. He is talking about the parts of the swords and the clips used to hold the blade and the handle. The tip is extra sharpened for about a hand span from the tip. Before the use of metal sheath or scabbard, the ancient people used to make the sheath from Tairen (a sacred Tree of the Meiteis) or Kurao another important tree in Meitei culture. Notice how the cross guard was made before British era.
The second sword was made post-British Invasion during the regime of Chadrakirti Maharaj. The distinctive difference in the design of the cross guard of this sword was intentionally made to be wider on purpose after the British Invasion. Different symbols were embossed to distinguish the type/regiment to which the wielder used to belong or the type of warfare technique/discipline he used to train in.
The third one is the design used by Lai Nongshaba (God of Destruction/Ferocity).”

Thank you so much.. I'm intrigued why the thang ta swords looks very similar to European sword designs. Swords used today hardly matches with the rest of the weapons in Thang ta or even other weapons of NE or neighbouring Burmese m arts. Have you heard any stories related to this. In Kalari, the weapons used now are modern makes modelled after British swords or North Indian Talwars, because the traditional sword were confiscated by British and more than 95% exist in foreign museums. Our traditional swords are totally different from the ones used now. Did something like that happened in Manipur.

@@kalaristudies I am happy to answer what I know. Yes, I do notice that the advent of British rule in Manipur did about the same thing. I appreciate the sentiment. When the Brits learnt that our indigenous martial arts were dangerous for them, they knew they had to put a ban that no household can own a pointed weapon be a sword or a spear other than the small ones used in the kitchen or they will be executed before the public. Alongside this, the practice of Thang Ta was also forbidden. The Meitei warriors didn't succumb to that and war broke out between them. But our ancestors would stay far away on the countryside hills and train the youth. So the tradition was preserved like this during the foreign rule. And now the old ways of sword design have been revived.
These two are the (only) ancient, and authentic martial arts of India - one coming from Lord Shiva himself, and one coming from Atingkok Maru. I am proud of this. Big supporter of Kalaripayyat as well.

Thank you so much brother. When I was young, I saw a doordharshan program done at Imphal uni about the comparison between Thang ta and Kalarippayat. I was really amazed with Thang ta. Always on the lookout for it to appear online. There is a clip which was taken during the filming on YT. ua-cam.com/video/YPHVR9uV9bM/v-deo.html
