Well, what makes me an outlier I guess! I am 57 year-old English immigrant, with zero interest in tech or stocks, and yet I am 110% committed to Bitcoin. I would describe myself as an extreme conservative/libertarian. I have been involved in UK politics for some time, and the main thing that drove me to study Bitcoin and ultimately recognise its value to Humanity was the threat posed by an over-weening government, first in the UK and lately in the US also. I regard the CBDC as the final brick in the wall of the totalitarian prison the world's governments are building for us. And Bitcoin is the ultimate defence against a tyrannical government.r.....I've been engaged in active trading and managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 24Bitcoin....I'm especially grateful to Sandy Barclays, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

Gold is often seen as a safe-haven asset that can protect against inflation and economic uncertainty. But like any investment, it carries risks. To determine if gold is the right investment option for you, an investment advisor can help you weigh the potential benefits and risks of investing in gold. They can also help you create a well-diversified portfolio that includes gold as part of a broader investment strategy. An investment advisor can help you decide how much of your portfolio should be allocated to gold and select other investments that can complement your gold holdings.

Things Mr Snider has been wrong about over the past few years but isn't man enough to admit:
Oil: He has zero understanding of the Oil Market, WTI, Brent, RBOB, Crack Spread, Contango/Backwardation etc. He tries to sound smart talking about Contango, while falsely stating "The IEA's entire job is to sell oil to the world..." IEA does NOT sell oil.
US Treasuries/Interest Rates (The Bond Market): Often referring to USTs as "safe and pristine collateral", Jeff and his partner Steve rode the TLT Bond ETF down from the 170's before finally capitulating below 100/share.
Inflation/Deflation: "It's not that inflation is a small possibility, it's near impossible because we're in deflationary depressionary conditions...people think there's going to be inflation, but there never is..."
The CPI was 0.1 YoY when he said that on 5/11/20 and he still, to this day, maintains "It was never inflation".
Gold: On 4/18/23 he stated "You can't use Gold..."
Recession: Multiple times Jeff has stated "summertime is the time for recession"; despite the fact that only two of the last ten recessions occurred/started during summer.

Some economists have projected that both the U.S. and parts of Europe could slip into a recession for a portion of 2024. A global recession, defined as a contraction in annual global per capita income, is more rare because China and emerging markets often grow faster than more developed economies. Essentially the world economy is considered to be in recession if economic growth falls behind population growth.

    @jamesthompson7282 4 дні тому

Kudos to this channel for focusing on a macro factor everyone's ignoring: manufacturing is in decline.
Everywhere industrial production capacity is based on - anchored by - Auto Manufacturing
Auto manufacturing is in decline. We're making & selling fewer internal combustion engine (ICE) cars, as the market shifts to EVs. That shift IS happening: recent slumps in EV purchasing indicate that consumers WANT EVs, they just don't want the crap EVs that legacy manufacturers have produced. Tesla is doing just fine, continues to scale production & sales.
Auto manufacturing is supported by a pyramid of systems, parts & material suppliers. Without auto manufacturing, an industry of tool & die makers dies. Sheet metal suppliers die. Parts manufacturers die.
So it's no surprise that - with auto sales down & legacy manufacturers unprofitable, hemorrhaging cash, manufacturing across the board is in decline. This won't be a short-term phenomenon.
    1) Most - maybe all? - legacy auto makers will go bankrupt
This is foreseeable, predictable. It's the norm every time a major industry is disrupted by new technology that recreates the product. The horse buggy manufacturers of America & Europe went bankrupt. I've identified only 2 or 3 that survived & made the transition to auto manufacturing (one survived as a brand name only; only two actually re-tooled to make cars). Within a decade ALL the legacy manufacturers were gone, surviving only as brand names on cars made by new companies.
Typewriter manufacturers all died. Those with divisions making other products survived for a while on that, or retreated into other industries with variable fortune. The same thing happened 60 years later to computer manufacturers. It happened to telegraph companies; phone companies; cell phone companies; camera makers. It's reliably predictable.
    2) China fully intends to drive this process faster
China has a history, a demonstrated strategy, of choosing industries to disrupt, state-subsidizing over-production, dumping worldwide to drive all other manufacturers out of business, and creating Chinese-dominated monopolies or oligopolies that give China strategic control over rival countries.
China has done this with pig iron, low-quality steel, ship building, basic chemicals supply, pharmaceuticals, wind turbines, solar panels & solar cells, rare earths metals, batteries, battery materials.
China has used massive subsidization by the State, and State-sponsored & funded espionage programs to steal intellectual property (IP) & make Chinese manufacturers competitive fast. It's cheaper & faster to steal IP than to fund R&D for decades.
    This is WAR
It's war by other means. If you destroy key manufacturing capabilities in competing countries, they lose the capacity to make the stuff you need to fight a war.
Consider: in a hot war with China, say over Taiwan or in support of the Philippines, the much-vaunted US military will expend over half it's bombs & ammunition within a week. It will lose half it's navy & air force assets within two. What's it going to do then? Order more stuff from China?
If you cannot make the stuff needed to fight a war, you can't fight a war.
You're done before it starts. China's playing the long game, very very well. The west has been dumb.
    We'll all look like Australia
Nice country. Zero manufacturing capacity of note. The entire economy is based on mining, finance, agriculture & tourism: that's about it. It's furiously buying military assets from the US: ships, subs, jets. Bully for them: they'll all be gone in a week in a fight with China. Australia has zero capacity to make more. To make even the ammunition they would fire. No tool & die industry, no sheet metal production, no widgets, screws, thingamabobs: stuff. Nada. Fight's over before it starts, isn't it?
    Might happen regardless
The history of industry disruption is pretty bleak: most auto companies WILL go bust, and WILL do so by 2030. Those that survive will do so only with massive state subsidies. I'm sure countries will bail out one, maybe two major auto firms in each nation. VW is bigger & better connected politically, but Mercedes is far more viable: it's a toss-up which would get state support. BMW will be absorbed first. Italy MUST support Stellantis. In America GM is a basket case, far more incompetently managed than Ford, but way better connected politically: Ford will be merged in & GM will suck up public tax dollars, again. In Japan there's no way the country will support 5 different companies: Mazda & Mitsubishi will be merged into Honda or Toyota; Subaru is already 25% owned by Toyota. I suspect Toyota will win support, despite spectacularly poor management for over a decade. I doubt any country will support more than one company.
    China's driving it faster, deliberately
    It's a national military strategy. It's working.
The only defense is to close borders to imports
Either we ban Chinese EVs, which will rapidly escalate into a complete breakdown in trade with China, or we levy MASSIVE tariffs on Chinese imports: 100%, 200% -- whatever it takes. We're forcing consumers to compete with the Chinese state: that doesn't bode well.
We MUST re-tool, rebuild manufacturing capacity FAST
Biden's Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is a good start. It's a misnomer: it isn't about fighting inflation; it's about providing state-funded incentives to industry to rebuild lost manufacturing capacity, re-shore manufacturing that's been outsourced to China for 4 decades.
    That'll necessarily be inflationary
The cost of everything WILL go up, long-term. Short-term we may see recession & deflation, but long-term the cost of rebuilding, the disruption, and an inevitable labor shortage (we're not having kids, haven't for decades) will drive up the cost of goods significantly.
The other thing that'll drive inflation is the demand for capital. The Baby Boom generation has aged out: they're looking for risk-free annuities, not risky stock market investments. That will starve the stock market for capital, at a time when industry will require vast amounts of capital to rebuild. Either the government must print more money (bet on it) or private equity will become much more active, supporting manufacturing expansion but also increasing inequality: the 1% will acquire even more of America's wealth.
    AI + Robotics may help
Both will drive labor cost reductions, result in unemployment. They'll enable dramatic cost reductions over labor-driven manufacturing: we're going to see a dramatic reduction in the labor content of manufactured goods & even services. But reshoring will drive an increase in the volume of manufacturing, which should provide more jobs. Hopefully, enough to off-set reductions in jobs per product made.
But they'll drive inequality too: the 1% owns the means of production, the vast majority of the S&P and NASDAQ. Private equity owns the vast majority of private companies. Wealth will be concentrated. And IT will - as it always does - drive monopolization of industries. This doesn't bode well for social & political stability.

You keep calling a possible recession "dangerous". A recession is not a good thing for most people, which we know from the many, many recessions we have lived through. A recession would hardly be dangerous, though.

I don’t think there’s really anything you can put your faith in of this world. You can’t put your faith in money you can’t put your faith in politicians. You can’t put your faith in friends. One day we’re all going to die. The question is, are you ready for what comes after this world? I think this is a way for God to get our attention to say nothing you’re doing is working, trust in me. For God, so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son that whoever believes shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For all our righteousness are like filthy rags before God. He sent his son into this world, not to condemn it, but to save it. Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life, and no one comes to the father, but through him. If we put our faith in Christ, I guarantee that he will hear our prayers and heal our lands.

The bond yield curve just crossed into positive. The banks bought a huge amount of Treasuries with covid relief cash, just before the yield conserve inverted. When the banks get to the point they can finally sell those bonds and make a profit. With rates cuts and a massive influx of money into the economy that spells hyperinflation to me!
