fluroscent arm bands that have a video game glint to them when you are looking at the arm band direct rather than a blueberry over peoples head. will make you think twice before combat while also having a way to verify friendly that is immersive. Also, i want the compass moved to a watch placed in reverse on the wrist that you have to press a key to activate
Not sure if I'm a fan of the improved infantry mechanics for this game. No doubt things like suppression needed to be added to make LMG's viable and extend gunfights to a degree, and the picture in picture optics looks absolutely stunning, but the absolutely insane amount of weapon sway when you're suppressed on top of the sway you get when you're even remotely low on stamina makes shooting nearly impossible. I had a game where I was laying prone with a squad running in the open across a road in front of me about 50-75m away and I only wounded 2 of the 6 people shooting semi auto and got immediately gunned down because my gun was legitimately being held by a cerebral palsy victim. IMO Squad just needs to add the PiP optics and a suppression system to the current game, without all of this unnecessary weapon sway that makes rifle combat essentially impossible.
yep... honestly it's a little bit too much, i'm untrained dumdum, i have shot weapon after running on false stresse situation i did not sway my gun at least for the first shot... basics for soldiers is 200 meters fight, you cant shoot easely at 50 meters now

I really want to see an arcadey "Battlebit" mod for this game that keeps all of the realism and this gunplay, but adds the juicy hit markers and points and stuff, and the green/red lights on the uniforms. That just seems like a fun time haha :p
Btw, when throwing granades, your thumb is where the granade will go up to 25m, the indicator might be 50m, never tried that one, it's a nice tip to have so you don't nade yourself

One thing the devs should consider is having slightly more stability when aiming down sights while moving. Even a slight adjustment to positioning restarts the sight-stabilizing completely over again. In the military/police community they use a 'heel-to-toe' foot movement which allows you to have a (more) stable sight picture and also minimizes noise while moving. You won't move as fast, but you won't be jerking all around. As it is now it's just suicide to move at all if you know there's someone, say, in a room that you need to clear, but you can't keep your gun somewhat stable when moving in. I finally got around to participating in a playtest and I do absolutely LOVE how it has slowed the game down considerably, giving squad leaders more time to coordinate/react.

I wonder how OWI would handle the Elcan Spectre when Aussie faction drops since those can switch between 1x and 4x irl, It does have a glaring eye relief issue compared to other magnified optics though so theres that to work with

Yeah the C7 is by far one of the better guns in the game. All the guns are fun to play with, but so often the matches will end up with a lot of CQB and the C7 just rules in that environment. The rate of fire is just insane. On top of the rate of fire so many of the kits get a foregrip. The M4s also get a lot of foregrips as well which makes the America factions pretty good as well, but they lack a full auto firing mode on most of their rifle patterns. The foregrip doesnt change a great deal for under 25m but in the 25m-75m range it lets you just dump a great deal of lead accurately. Good showcase of it @ 7:54 where Slorgs just magdumps the guy in the window. Basically the whole team is walking around with 30rnd m240s.
Looks cool. Great video. I just feel like they nerfed the suppression just a wee bit too much. Honestly, they could leave it as is, and I would be perfectly happy.... I'm just nitpicking. I liked the early suppression playtests, as it rewards strategy more. If you have the jump on someone, and out-maneuver the enemy, they shouldn't just be able to arcade spin around and kill you, particularly when you've already got a bullet in them. Suppression and flanking maneuvers can also become rather neutered if suppression isn't effective. I understand the other side of the argument, as you want to keep it fun and at least somewhat fast-paced for fun (here's looking at you Battlebit). Too much realism slows it down to where it can become a bit boring (it's a balancing act). Hopefully they tune it up just a little more, even with small arms fire. It's still a great improvement, moving in what I think is the right direction and I'm super excited for the release. I may be way off base and, with more playtime, may even retract my current views of the update. Just my two cents, which is more than my opinion is probably worth :)
It’s perfect, just like insurgency sandstorm. I hope they keep going in that direction so the game is more realistic rather than feeling janky and super slow.

@@sarcasticommentator idk how that make sense because squad and IS are completely two different games, like the core mechanics are so different it’s just not even possible to make an insurgency out of squad. Combat overhaul is specifically designed to slow down the gameplay as a result player movements are extremely slower, there is no jiggle peaking etc.

Character not re-centre their weapon after a turn or looking up etc is my issue with the playtests, it would make sense if we had a vr headset but it's a mouse and keyboard game.
Adding armbands doesn't really sound that unreal looking at the war in Ukraine. If it was kept to European maps and friendly player tags were less visible/turned off it would be quite a nice addition
This is a gripe ive had for a while. I'll see the enemy and aim down sights then wait for stabilization then hold breath and fire. That whole proccess takes way to long imo, this clip shows what i mean perfectly 8:58 by the time you can get a steady shot youve lost sight picture of enemy.
Us an MG or AR though...these playtests have been fish in a barrel simulator lol. No need to fear running across an open field the MGs are for suppression now. However epileptics will not be able to cross the field due to the fantasy suppression effects lol. Oh no their riflemen are there too? Dont worry they're low skill Squad players who cling to meta. Just keep running and theyll keep missing.

everyone knows its not realistic, they are adding this to encourage teamwork and make a more realistic experience vs more realistic mechanics

It will run pr sure but it won't run squad even on ultra low, I struggle to keep 40 fps with a gtx 1650 and a r5 2400g

I got 35fps with a 8350/1050ti on 1440 low settings. Now with a 7600/1070 I get 60 on 1440 cinematic.
