local travel teams can't expect to consistently beat national teams they are literally like college teams. They field players from all over the country and carry 25+ players on their roster. many reclasses. Not gonna beat a team like that carrying only 12-14 local players on your roster.. This was a national tournament btw and they were #1 in the nation.
Yes many are reclassified kids. During your senior year most kids turn 18 at some point during that school season, most of these kids will turn 19. So they are a half up to a whole year older than even average seniors during their last year of high school. What’s really frustrating is that the best of the best are doing it more common these days to further separate themselves from the other kids, but in reality they aren’t as ahead as they truly think when you compare them by ages instead of graduation class year.
