- How to approach and overtake safely a horse and rider on country roads. It is so important for you as a driver to be able to overtake the horse and rider safely for two reasons. Firstly the safe and well being of the horse and horse rider and secondly for the legal reason.
Approaching the horse and horse rider at a slow speed(10mph or less) looking far ahead on the road to safely overtake(2 metres).
If you don't overtake safely and correctly, then you could end up in court if the horse or rider is injured.

Could you do a video on being behind tractors? I live in the country and always find this frustrating.
Also motorcycles, as they cam be really easy to be in a blind spot and be unpredictable

The rule should be to go 5-10 mph faster _than_ the horse, because if you slow down for trotting horse riders, you can run into problems where you find yourself not overtaking at all. Then, if you hit the gas on an automatic transmission, you might kick down into first gear, with devastating consequences. Instead, if you are going slightly faster, you can ensure that you overtake promptly, and remain in second gear.
