Bend eye up, will make plug dig deeper. You can bend the lip Each plug has a sweet spot for action. You dont have to bend a lip as much as you think Bringing the eye to center and then tuning from there if you want to get down, how ever if you have other metal lips for running deep swap out if possible, unless they want the color of you current plug.. You can bend eye above center a tad also. Remember you don't want to kill the action, to much roll. Deaden action. Take a plug during day and tune it to learn what you need and further reference
Good advice, go to a beach during the day and go through all your metal lips as Dave described so that when it’s dark at night you can go by feel.

In order to work the water column with metal lips do you bend the lips on the beach, or switch to progressively deeper plugs?
