Great work with Raven! He does appear to have some PRE blood. Very wise to remove the spurs 😉 The bald face mare may be slow to mature? Have a Chex baby who I thought would end up being a pony. Until end of 4th year and into 5th when she had a growth spurt and is now 15.1.😃

Wow he is a fantastic mover, you can see the Spanish ancestry. Love seeing what a great job you're doing with him. The amount of trust Raven has now even with a stranger shows that you treat your horses with kindness even when the camera isn't on. ❤

What a difference in Raven! It is so nice to see the calm, relaxed eye, and him seeking scratches and attention, not shying away. Even his ears are showing relaxation and listening. I like how the gentleman said to use his grain allotment as a treat. I know you are tired of hearing me say this but it's a great use of a reward and positive reinforcement for him too when you are training (which is always). Looks like you are doing an amazing job with him.

I have a mustang only been ridden a handful of times. She and are going slow as we should. My husband must have thought he was you cause he jumped on, except my mare jumped him right off 🤣 love the videos, you're doing an awesome job as you have always done

Just as I predicted, you both handled that like champs! The ground work and the relationship building are where its at. He came off that trailer as "untouched" and now you can see the difference in his eye. My son and I love watching these videos.
Cool project for a talented top shelf trainer!

    Hi again MATT
    I AM SOOO HAPPY!!
Even after the explosive trailer event Raven gave you a chance. And thankfully you're giving him one.
Watching his eyes and body language he was fixed on you and trying to give and meet you to learning from you.
He can trust you and you're finding you're beginning to trust him! Especially with all the weight bearing you gave him and finally letting you get on him all the times with no bad reaction. He wants to learn and I truly believe you two will become a great team together and I'm pretty sure he will become something quite special to you in a one of a kind way. After all he's a MUSTANG...
Thx for getting this vid out quickly as so many have been waiting with great anticipation. Your great teaching/training skills will surely give you a differently special
    success this time.
Onward you go and I can hardly wait for the updates.
    Enjoy...

Awesome job, Raven and Matt!! Love it! (Raven really seems to like Ryan, too!) The yearlings are adorable and so shiny in the sun. Could you talk a bit about the pasture/turn-out situation at the ranch? Do Raven and friends get turned out at all during the day, or do you have to be really careful with daytime pasture time with the hot weather there? (East-coaster here, so truly wondering.) Can't wait for the next Raven video!

I think it’s nice when riding is your job to have one horse that you can play with and not worry about “messing them up”. He can be your trail ride, going bareback around the farm, doing silly stuff, horse.

Raven looks nice now that he gets better food and he starts to relax a bit. You can see he's ready to work, he WANTS to work for you. I can't wait to see how he looks once you get some good grain and nutrients in him and he starts to develop some muscle. Reining probably isn't for him but have you thought about maybe trying some Ranch Riding with him? It has some Reining elements to it but it's not as strenuous on the horse. I think he could be great there, he sure can move!

I didn't follow your videos regularly, so I don't know whether it has been said or not, but I believe this mustang has Andalusian blood in him. The head, the crest line and the neck tied high on his shoulders say Andalusian. If he turns white or gray by the time is seven, here you are.

    • @guestuser1671
      @guestuser1671 2 роки тому +1

Raven was said to be around 8 so I'd guess he'll stay black. But you're right, looking at his head and neck and his hind end and the way he moves, he definitely looks like old Spanish blood. Not purebred of course, but a good amount of it. He will look amazing once he puts some weight and muscle on!
