The ominous sound of that alarm is terrifying. In the distance you can hear the C-Ram shooting down incoming rockets. It sounds like a movie about the end of the world and the final battle for man’s existence. The weapons and defense system in the background are like gigantic robots fighting a robot alien enemy.
The RPGs were being fired at very low altitude and way to quick at such a short distance to as a missle at such a high altitude it gives them enough time to intercept the missile
For those of you who don't know. A c ram is a big ah machine gun that looks like a whole mini planetarium that can track and shoot airborne objects. That loud ffffffrrrrr sound is a missile getting shot down by the c ram probably 3 seconds before hitting the soldiers. The wind blowing into a mic sound is the c ram shooting
The sound of the C-RAM is always so comforting because you know it’s sheer capability to divert, destroy, and neutralize anything in its sight in a matter of milliseconds
Now listen to that sound at about 15 seconds several hundred times in a unreasonably short timespan and you might begin to understand shellshock and the like.

For those unaware, C-RAM is Counter Rocket Artillery and Mortar. It’s essentially and AA system that is made to shoot down rockets automatically. Edit: You don’t hear an explosion because these C-RAMs can usually shoot down said incoming artillery within a 2 mile stretch. Shooting them also doesn’t necessarily make them explode as it damages the ignition portion which is why it’s possible to find live explosives in the field that are undetonated.

To be fair, they're not the first generation to do so. when video cameras first got cheaper, a lot of home videos came out, but also a lot of combat footage from places like Vietnam. The only limiter was that video footage was not as accessible to people other than the recorder, being as there was no interwebs and the footage needed to exist physically and be developed physically, which made it somewhat harder to get this footage back home intact.

That "DRRRRRrrooooooooooooo" sound when the missle came in is absolutely terrifying. If that one missle Imagine what an actual war sounds like. I hope everyone gets out safe!
The sound of C Ram firing is actualy a pritty cool.
It definitely feels scary, but then again it would „sooth“ me a little to know, that that’s actually the one thing protecting my life.
I think that is actual war also.
The "drrooo" sound as you call him ist not from the incoming rockets, its the defense systen trying to hit them mid air to drestroy them before impackt
@@sdabuat6213 I knew there'd be some dingus who says that. It's clear OP meant all-out firefights and not-so-indirect engagements. Aka shit really hitting the fan all around you.

Whew I remember going through this for 27 months in Baghdad. It happened so often and the camp Liberty/VBC was so spread out we never really left our beds any more when this sound woke us up in the middle of the night. We were in these aluminum paper thin trailers surrounded by Texas T’s and we were resigned to our fate of a rocket or mortar happened to land directly on us. The Phalanx weapon system ripping like a buzz saw in the middle of the night is the stuff of nightmares. You just want to craw up in a hole when this happens. Glad I made it out of that alive.
Glad you're safe
Too bad Juba didn’t get you too..
Glad you made it home safely and thank you
Thanks for going through hell for me. It's appreciated beyond words.
Thank you for your service.
That "brrrrrrrrrt" is fascinating, but that "thuk" is terrifying.

The sound of the siren, and the missile whizzing past them just gives me chills man. I feel like those metal shipping containers is the only place I’d want to be during all that.
Metal containers wouldn’t hold up .
The metal containers could turn into shrapnel depending on what's inside and the power of the missiles.
@@colenichols
Damn dude, I figured I’d be somewhat safe if it struck inside the compound. Better than a rag tent right? 😂
The crazy thing is that you’d think those metal enforced containers could protect and save you but they won’t.
Shrapnel rips straight through them
Government: this is fine
Also government: IS THAT A WEED?!
Too true.
Government: Let’s spend over a trillion dollars on our military.
Also government: Sorry there’s no money for social security or infrastructure.
I'm confused. You think our military is fighting our own military or something? 😅
@Keepers of Light no, that the govt is fine w placing its citizens in a missiles path, but not w them smoking a blunt. That their morals are fucked.
