I live in a multi dwelling building & in our mail room there is a table...so now when I come in and I've gotten samples or minis that I know I won't use, I leave them on the table for neighbors to help themselves. others have started doing it too. it helps me lessen the crap that makes its way to my apartment.
There’s a non-profit in the US named Project Beauty Share who “collects personal hygiene, cosmetics and beauty products and distributes them through non profit organizations who serve women and families overcoming abuse, addiction, homelessness and poverty.” I don’t know your plans for the stuff you no longer want and I know you’re very conscious about waste, so hopefully you’ll consider sending to them! They accept from all over the world, and I’m sure there’s a local foundation that is similar, if not.
On a side note, I am such a fan of your philosophy on anti-consumerism and desire to cut your collection down to only what you love. Thank you for being an “influencer” who doesn’t tell your viewers you NEED EVERY PALETTE. So refreshing in a world of “more.” xx

I use shampoo or shower gels that I don't really like as hand soap. I just put them in the soap dispenser. In this way it's not thrown away und it is used up quite quickly.
scetterling: I do this too lol when I was decluttering last year, I was so overwhelmed by the excess of toiletries that I decided to make the shower gels I don't like into hand soap. Awesome idea and I managed to finished all the crap and not waste as many as possible.

Keep in mind sunscreen goes bad very quickly. Every winter I try to just throw all mine away and Ill buy a new one right before spring when Ill start being outside again.
Soo motivating! Now I have to go and declutter something. 😀 Love the feeling afterwards!
Can you not donate unused items to a women's shelter or something similar? I bet they'd really appreciate toiletries as donations.

You totally inspired me! I have two of those plastic bins with the drawers and they were literally so full I could barely open them! I went in after watching just half of this video and cleared them out. I took four bags out to the trash and I have three bags to give to a friend. It feels so good to get rid of all this stuff! I've been putting off doing this for so long and now I think you've inspired me to tackle my Alex drawer and the huge bag of samples I have. I quit taking samples about a year ago and I still have so many of them. Good luck with your move!

I just did a declutter of my own with skincare and perfume. I had so many pouches of masks and treatments, that I never used so I just threw it all out. I also got rid of some perfumes that started to lose their scent and get that weird alcohol smell. So satisfying to get rid of stuff and just not be overloaded with products.

Sarah Maloney I have a face one and a body one! I can never use them up before the expiration date so I don't hoard sunscreens.

Good job with the decluttering. I used up a sample handcream while watching and tossed two sample ones with too much perfumey smell. Thanks for the inspiration! I used to keep the perfumey ones and use down on my feet, then I would have to wait for it to dry and then go and wash my hands. I always hated doing it so when I saw you tossed the feet mask I was like...good for you and I'm not going to deal with stuff like that either.

I absolutely love not getting a period. Best thing ever! I keep tampons around because sometimes I spot and sometimes I may have a guest who will need one.

devsox1: I have psoriasis on my scalp and what helps is the ginger shampoo from The Body Shop, give it a try. Ginger soothes itchiness and inflammation.

I have been having problems with my scalp now 1,5 months as it is really dry and itchy. I have been trying shampoo without sulphates that has usually worked but now it doesn't. Would love to know what shampoo you use if you have same kind of issue? Also if someone else has any ideas, please comment. Any help is welcome! :)
Great video, very inspirational. What pill are you on? Do you know if it is available in other countries? I had to come off microgynon contraceptive pill cause of some long term side effects I wont go into here, but now my periods are worse than ever, really heavy and really bad pain, if I could stop that all together it would be amazing!
It's called the Mini Pill, it is a progestin-only pill, ask your gynocologist about it to see if it's right for you :) You could also consider getting an IUD, I have heard that they also sometimes stop periods

Would you consider replacing panty liners (once you've used them all up) with cloth ones to reduce waste ?
No, and it's not necessary because in the country where I live we do not have garbage fills, we incinerate all our garbage in a totally emission-free way so there is no left over waste from such things.

Ich bin auch dabei, alle meine Duschgelminis aufzubrauchen, damit dann endlich auf Seife umsteigen kann. Ich benutze auch viele Shampoos als Duschgels, da meine Kopfhaut auch recht empfindlich ist, aber die Sachen auch wirklich aufbrauchen möchte. Ich bin so gespannt, auf euer neues Haus. Wirst du eine Art Haustour oder so machen? Ich würde mich freuen, liebe Grüße:)

The body shop masks are always super cheap on Amazon for 9 packets 3 of each.
Those Pure Smile masks from Japan are not the best. I bought some on my last trip to Japan as well. Korean sheet masks are much better, I recommend the Dear Klairs Moist Rich, they're super moisturizing and soothing to irritated skin.

Without even realizing it, you can hoard so much of these samples of personal care products... I recently went through my stuff and gave stuff away that I wasn't using and took inventory of what I have so that next time I use something up, I know that I have something to replace it and if not, that's when I will be buying something to replace it
Does the Bautiste dark color shampoo work well for you? I hate the white cast of normal dry shampoos on my dark hair but I am afraid of turning my scalp and hairline brown
I use the Batiste dark brown dry shampoo and it works great. However it does definitely add color to your hair so you need to be careful not to get any on your clothes.. I find it great to use when you need to run out the door bc it does not leave the white color to your hair. I don't find it turns your scalp or hairline brown, just the hair that you spray it on.
I have the darkest shade and I love it but I agree it does get on your scalp. I never spray it close to the front of my head because once someone told me I had dirt on my forehead because I got to close 😅
