You can win a conventional war, but anybody who thinks you can win a trade war doesn't understand economics. In a trade war, everybody loses, always. The USA is losing two wars; Russia is losing one and winning one.

The belt and road initiative and BRICS is all about internal financial circulation that is embargo proof vis a v western naval supremacy (US submarines) We should be under no illusion as to who would win a trade war. This being a qualified statement means that at any future time, Russia could decide to take Kharkiv.

Seems to me that the Kharkiv offensive is just a feint to gain time while consolidating forward positions and logistics on Adviidka-Ocheretine sector, looks like Ukranians were planning quite a big counteroffenisve there but with this new "front" they had to divert half the force to the North... Russians did this already with Artyomovsk, once Bakhmut, to great effect: they not only gained the needed time to consolidate the Surovikin line, they took the city and decimated the ukranian main attack force also.
Might we see something at Kherson? Threatening Odessa would be pretty decisive?

In my opinion not yet, I think it will happen because Russia needs to secure Tranistria somehow, but it can only happen after ukranian army's back is completely broken and Russia is able to steamroll most ukranian territory at will.
Why? Marine op seems suicidal with all the naval drones. Air drop impossible to pull out without heavy equipment. Land op would have to cross the Dnieper and Bug meridional rivers, take Mykolaiv, Kherson and Odessa. Against stiff oposition you need about 600.000 men plus the stretched logistics... To me doesn't add to the Russian MO. But on the other hand being so unexpected might make it plausible for some people.
The point of exerting pressure on multiple fronts is that anything is in the card its up to the defender to decide where to focus and anything they choose you attack the weakest point. It may be Kharkov it may not it all depends on the Ukes
For not having any combat experience these guys are giving Ukraine hell.

Too expensive to produce, equip and manage for the effectiveness of a Fab 1500 can do preety much the same. You would drop a Fab 3000 only on capital targets ans you would need a few to drop so you would use a different bomber like Tu/22,160. There arent many targets like that in Ukraine and those that are present are well protected with air defense so they opt for missiles.

Yes, I believe so. Putin would probably stop for the 4 provinces and of course Crimea. And a permanent lock out of NATO. Russia has lot a lot in this war, and despite the assertions of the western imperialist shills to the contrary, Putin is a politician first and foremost. If he can accomplish the goals of the SMO without losing thousands more men and a long costly occupation, he would make that choice. I think he would even greenlight EU membership and allowing them to keep their outlets on the Black Sea coast.
