Nice little gem trail and history I wouldn’t have ever known about. Appreciate the share and history as always. Good prep for the upcoming trip and adventures!
I was eight when Agnes came thru Lancaster Co. The Colemanville Bridge was moved west from its original spot and raised higher to help prevent future damage from flooding. There use to be a hotel where you parked. As a teen we use to park at the hotel and go tubing down the creek. Some even tried to brave going thru Suzis hole. The trail you walked along is part of the old trolley trail. Thr trolley ran from Millersville down to the river.
Thank you, Tim! Great info... So if Colemanville bridge used to be farther east, even though lower, that's maybe even more impressive. Agnes was insane!
Hiker Dude Dad, I like this trail however there are now two large yellow No Trespassing poles . One is at the area of Suzy's Hole. Do you think it is ok to still hike this trail.? Such an awesome place. I hate though to get busted for trespassing.
I'd probably have to see it for myself before making a call on that.... AllTrails doesn't mention it being closed so I'd think you're good. There are private residences and a campground along the way, but pretty sure that as long as you stay on the trail you're good.
If anyone knows of any Agnes high water marks, let me know!
This was a great hike! What a beautiful area! I just graduated from high school when Agnes hit. Water damage everywhere...
I liked this video and had to watch it again. Wonderful!!
This one really, unexpectedly came together well. I didn't plan on it, but I was able to almost tell a story. Bonus!

Yeah, I didn't plan on even thinking about history, but the wise woman at the bridge set me on a knowledge quest!

@@HikerDudeDad It looks like PP&L installed these no trespassing poles. I took pics and I could email them to you.
