Rare that a pasta resonates with me on a personal level, also rare that a pasta has a genuinely satisfying ending. Beutifully written, conveys its themes in a very natural and emotionally potent way. Wish more writers embraced subtlety.
@@TayTayMakesBeats 100% agree. Horror is the perfect space to explore things like trauma, loss, pain and more. So when someone goes for it and it turns out beautifully it is such a treat. Esp. when there is amazing narration. :3

This felt like a complete book or movie playing in my head. Very good writing and plot, I was so invested in the story! Also wonderful narration as known from you. 50 minutes of your voice, what a treat! If you ever did an audio book I'd probably listen to the whole thing at once.
Small town creepypastas are always so freaking good. I could really feel the unwelcome bitterness of the residents here. And finally, a smart and logical thinking protagonist!!
This was refreshing honeslty, reminds me of the older horror books I use to read. So much more depth, I miss painting out such a clear picture in my mind while listening/reading.
Good story. In case, your younger viewers have never used a pay phone and it's been decades since I did, you have to put coins (usually quarters) into the slot and then you get a dial tone! The protagonist must never had used one before too.
Also for the younger viewers, if no one answered your call, you could hang up and get your change back. If someone's voicemail or answering machine picked up, you had to hang up really quickly to avoid losing your change. Most of the time, people would hold the receiver to their ear with one hand, and have their other hand on the receivers cradle, to end the call as quickly as they could.
Living in the south and hearing you pronounce jedediah the way you did cracked me UP. I'm almost half way through and am enjoying everything Lighthouse I just had to say that 😂
So I need some help with this ending. He just left the town?.... right. The whole "I've always been prone to flights of fancy" has left me laying her questioning my intelligence.
Wow! Another story made amazing by your narration! You have a way of drawing me into the story as no other narrator can and I find it fascinating! Thanks for another great one, LH. 🙂✌👍

I’ve listened to this story so many times, with LHH narrating each time (: and it is up there with my top favorite stories. I always envision this story taking place in the late 70’s to the early 80’s with how everything from the cars to the motel and hole in the wall burger place looked. It’s a truly scary story that is so beautiful at the same time! Keep up the AMAZING work LHH, you are extraordinary in every way! 😁 Love from Texas ♥️🤠😁
One of the best stories, although I enjoy most of your posts. I like the somber suspense of this story, as opposed to the horrific creatures in some others. Great job!
Wonderful story which for me was melancholic in that sad rainy day way… and of grieving and loss - one of the few survivors who listened to the advice. Renard would’ve been relieved he did… but then again, (the author) has always been prone to flights of fancy.
Subtle horror is always refreshing compared to the big scary monster in the dark or the unfathomable Eldritch being lurking in some dark corner of the middle of nowhere
Beautiful story, well written and a different sort of creepy than "long arms and an unnaturally wide grin". Very well narrated as usual 👍🏼 I'd love to hear more from this author.

Wow, most creepypastas I've read/listened to are written by young, inexperienced authors, and it usually comes through pretty clearly. I don't mean that as an insult; I'm not a writer myself, gifted or otherwise and creepypastas are a great way to get some good early experience and feedback. However, the author of this story is an excellent writer, possibly the best I've come across in the countless ones I've read and listened to.
