At one time my late father owned two 250GTs, one a LWB and one a SWB. I remember vividly when he took a teen aged family friend for a ride in one of them. They drove to a place 5 miles away before turning around and coming home. The entire time the car was never out of ear shot and every single gear change could be heard. Just the sound was thrilling. Both cars were definitely magnificent beasts.

Over the years my father owned other Ferraris--a 275GTS, a 265 GTB4, and a Daytona that was in our family for 41 years until it sold in California 3 years ago with 13k original miles.
