I’m a Nurse Practitioner who guides clients through healthcare conversations so decisions about healthcare are made before there is an emergency. Thank you for stating your appreciation for all that nurses do. Much appreciated.
When I first heard about the bike accident, my first thought was, "at least we (all us viewers) don't have to worry whether you two have an emergency fund!" You have some brain injury, similar when I got hit in the head with a metal garage door. It will take some time for you to get as well as you will get. After 14 years, I still have holes in my memory. My speech got much better because of my singing instructor, which the neuropsychologist who tested me didn't think singing would help me to relearn to talk. Your increased sleeping is your brain's response to healing. Sleep whenever you feel sleepy. Your brain is healing. You may have some small problems later, but remember, you may not be exactly the same as you were, but you will reach your NEW normal. I am very happy that you two are getting through this so well. Thank you for letting others know what to expect in a medical emergency.
I am crying about this. I am a retired nurse and hospital nurses have a hard job. I worked 25 years in a hospital. I am so thankful Larry had that helmet on. I continue to pray for both of you. Barbara Williams Crockett.
@@jinglejazz7537 As a retired nurse myself yes I agree medical staff work hard and we are trained well but as a Christian I believe strongly in the power of prayer. I think Larry and Hope would agree🥰🙏. I also believe we live in a country where everyone has different opinions 😊

Larry, it is good to see you☺️ Hope, I can 100% understand everything you said about being an advocate! My husband was very I’ll in 2013 and I did not leave his side for one second. I slept in his room, I wouldn’t leave and they couldn’t force me. 11 days the first time, 8 days the second time. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018, a reoccurrence in 2022, and I am the door every doctor must pass through lol. I am the keeper of all records, the knower of all medications, tracker of all side effects. It’s just what we do ❤
Prayer warriors saved my life while I was fighting cancer when my husband had his serious bicycle accident (hospital 10 days) lucky to be alive. My sister had the contact to prayer warriors and I could actually physically feel them at times.🥰🙏🙏🙏Praise God and will continue praying for Larry
And thank you for reminding people to be kind. We see people in their worst days, but being kind to the staff makes such a difference to them. It also keeps your healthcare team together and working with you to address your needs instead of feeling defensive and like you are not part of the solution for your loved one.
I live in the UK, and we are very fortunate to have the NHS in times like this, no worrying about insurance costs or paying for ambulances. Yes, people moan about getting Drs appointments when needed (we are very lucky where we live, as we don't have that problem) and waiting lists etc., but when you really need it, it's there. So glad Larry is on the road to recovery and is up and about 🙂
As a former Certified Nursing Assistant who worked in a skilled nursing facility and then a local hospital, I would like to thank you for your wonderful comments regarding the hospital staff. It is by no means an easy job and can get quite stressful at times. Your compliments mean a great deal.
As a retired nurse I'm glad you had a good experience at St Francis Medical Center. I bet Larry was a good patient. Personally I think those E bikes are dangerous because they can go so fast. Just glad Larry is doing so well.
I’m a retired nurse. I told my patients to keep a binder way back then…2000’s. I also told them to keep copies of blood work and X-rays…not to leave the Dr Office without copies. Then, every office visit take your binder. Many people have 2-3 Dr’s and say “I don’t know what he did, I don’t know what the X-ray said”…..people must take charge of their health!
My helmet saved my life. I was at a stand still and my stepson’s bike hit my from behind and our wheels locked together as he caught my wheel’s quick release. The shattered my shoulder, one pin and 8 screws later over a few months I healed. It was 4 years ago. I have been on bike tours and etc. since then. I still can’t go fast down any hill, but I can enjoy being on a bike. A few things I learned along the way; stay in physical therapy, get support with PTSD if you even think you might need it, and be ok with just getting through a day. Hope care for the caregiver is also needed. Please look up what you need to do for yourself as a caregiver. Also know the an accident in the road can cause insurance confusion. My insurance company tried to put it against my car. You my have to talk to medical records to see how they coded the accident. Thank you both for the video. Larry it is ok to just rest. Take the pain medicine, recover, be kind to yourself.
My husband has dealt with medical issues for a number of years. He recently went into cardiac arrest in the ER (Praise Be To God it was there and not at home). He came home this Wednesday, exactly one month from when he went in, after ER, ICU, regular room, and PT/OT in a rehab center. No brain or heart damage. God is So Good! Very thankful that we both still have our husbands with us. God Bless and Prayers continue, Debbie
My sister is a retired RN after 47 years. Nursing is very hard work. Her body is just shot and her emotions, too, after caring about her patients and families over the years. Sounds like Larry had an angel nurse and we are so thankful that he is doing so well! It could have gone the other way so easily. Take good care of yourselves dear friends.❤
Good news. You look like you're recovering very well from your accident Larry. Glad you're feeling well enough to join Hope again. Best wishes for a complete speedy recovery of 100%😁

I started ugly crying when I saw Larry was back. Praise God and continued prayers for his continued recovery. He has a grateful attitude and that will speed his recovery.
Praise GOD that everything worked out right. So many do not wear helmets, a great example of wearing one. I was my husband's advocate every time, every patient NEEDS someone checking on everything.
Hope I was a nurse for 30 years, now retired, but so grateful you gave us nurses a shout out! Larry, you look absolutely wonderful after hearing what you’ve been through. Thank God you’re going to make a full recovery. You will surely be in my prayers every single day
You can send text messages and emails to multiple people at once. This saves alot of time. I am a Canadian nurse and I am very glad Larry was wearing a good helmet. Us nurses here watching this video know what could have happened to Larry if he had not worn a helmet. Thank you for the compliments for my colleagues and I.
So happy to see Larry back. Before my husband died of Alzheimers Dementia next week will be a year I bet a spent almost a years worth of staying with him in the hospitals over the years. One time was for 29 days straight in Cleveland, he was so dependent on me for everything I could barely leave to go eat. I don't think anyone should be in the hospital without someone being with them all the time, espically if they are elderly
Larry, you still look pretty shook up. Thank you Jesus for protecting Larry. I have a cousin that had a bike accident but he wasn't wearing a helmet. Sure changed my thoughts about helmets. My cousin made a good recovery, but it took a long while. God bless you all.
I’m so glad Larry’s back and is doing as well as expected. Be sending a card soon with a little note attached. Thank goodness the good Lord spared him! 🥰🙏

Congratulations on your son's marriage. My thoughts and prayers are with you Larry. A medical binder is so important. I am a caregiver for my daughter who has an incurable lung/heart disease and we created a one page medical history with all her doctor's; emergency contacts; prescriptions she's on; her medical conditions; surgery dates... she is on IV medication and so the dosage and such of that is on the sheet; insurance information as well; also don't forget any OTC medications you may be taking. If/when my daughter is in the hospital I will stay with her for the duration and she is an adult. I carry this sheet in a binder with all her latest (from the year) after visit summaries; any tests; the power of attorney I have for her etc.
We've had 4 911s, 4 ambulances, 4 hospitalizations, and rehabs since this last Easter for my husband, I know how important it is to advocate for your husband. I know life has changed for us forever. There were times when the medical team did not have correct information, or my husband didn't. I did, however, have to leave his side regularly. It sounds like you did a great job. My husband had a botched surgery 2 years ago. It was a horrific time in our life. 6 weeks into his ordeal, I fell and dislocated my shoulder. Pain like I’ve never had. Thankful for daughter snd granddaughter for caring for us. I had to get well as he was so sick. It took 2 years to recover for him. Thank God he did as there were moments we didn’t think it would happen. Nursing staff was AWESOME. I totally get what you are saying. So thankful Larry is recovering so well. It just takes time. God bless. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
I was in the hospital in 2017, for about 14 days, and the nursing staff were ANGELS!! I felt so well taken care of and when I got out of the hospital, I sent both sets of staff (was at two different hospitals) thank you cards and heard that it was so appreciated! Thank goodness Larry is on the mend!!
“The truth of God’s love is not that He allows bad things to happen, it’s His promise that He’ll be there with us when then do!” ❤ Praise God that He was there when the accident happened, by sending people to help Larry! 🎉
Yes, yes, yes on the advocating. It is especially critical if there are allergies with significant consequences and if keeping medication regimes are important.
Welcome back Larry! We missed you!! Hope had some great company on her last video but there nothing like seeing you getting back to the swing of things.
I was thankful for home health care when my mom had a hip replacement and after coming home from having heart surgery. It was a relief for me. And the company we used we knew several people working there. They were a godsend. I have a couple of prayer warriors. It's nice to have
Larry, I didn't know you had this accident so please accept my belated "I am so sorry you went through this". I am glad you are recovering and doing as well as you are, and I hope you continue to a speedy total recovery. I would also add my thanks to the company that donated that helmet. It is easy to see that it more than likely saved your life. Thanks for all the tips you have passed on tonight. One of the most important is having that advocate for you. Also hopefully that person can stay at the hospital with you because they come in at all hours of the night to give meds etc. Y'all take care and have a Blessed weekend.
Larry, so glad to see you looking so well. I can see the stress in Hope's face when you are showing your damaged helmet. We had a friend when we were teens ,who lost his life due to his bike wheel catching in a rut in the street and his poor head hitting a tree. No helmet. Some people don't like them because they think they don't look 'cool' or they make your head sweat but they are definitely worth it.
Praise the Lord. I am so glad to hear youre on the mend, Larry. Continued prayer for healing and rest. My husband was in a minor car accident last november that could have ended so much worse. We blcked out or fell asleep at the wheel and veered through uncoming traffic, and then into a tree. Thabkfully he did not hit the car that was coming just a second later...she had a couple of young kids in the car with her, and im just so thankful that God spared them from any involvement beyond calling an ambulance for him, and thankful that He spared my husband from possibly living with the guilt of unintentionally hurting someone.
Medical records, i.e., charts, were much more accurate prior to the advent of EHR, IMHO. I worked in healthcare back in the days of paper charts. Now, all it takes is one wrong click and you have a wrong diagnosis and you're taking a medication you have never taken. People really need to keep track of what is in their medical record, if possible. They had me positive for HIV at one point, which was completely erroneous. Anyhow, very happy to see that Larry is making progress!
If you don't already have it, home care nursing can help with physical therapy and med help at home!! It is a calling. We love what we do. Blessings for recovery, Larry!
Glad to see Larry and that he appears so peppy. You both are so positive in the face of adversity. On the bill paying part, wait for your insurance EOB (Explanation of Benefits) before you pay anything. You may still have issues such as provider using wrong code or some other issue on the EOB, but you should never pay before the EOB. It states what the insurance company believes your share of the expense is.
What a blessing that you were planning a wedding and not a funeral! God is good. In 2015, I slipped on ice off my own front porch and landed on the pavement, dislocating and fracturing an ankle. Suffered hypothermia. Thankfully I didn't hit my head, and a neighbor heard my cries for help. I was 3 months in a rehabilitation facility after two surgeries. Embrace the recovery process. Healing takes time. So grateful for your presence with us Larry. I will be looking into that medical binder. 👍🏾

Excellent, Lyla!
My favorite YT couple! Praise God you are getting better. You are so blessed to have each other. Prayers for continued healing ❤
Awe, thank you so much!!
Yay!!! We have been praying for him!! Thank God!! Blessings on you both💕
I'm so touched!
Thanks, friends. This means so much to us!
I love this!
God Bless you all, I love both your families so much
So good to see you back Larry. God Bless you both. Sending love and prayers from England. I so love watching you two. Take care.
It's nice to have
Awesome information!!!
THANKS!!
I thank the Lord for sparing Larry, and the testimony of God’s hand in this situation! WOW!!!
Blessings, Lyn W., Idaho
I am blessed to have some prayer warriors in my life. Wonderful to see you up and about, Larry. Continued prayers for you and your family.
Great to see you back Larry, I've been thinking of you a lot. This all makes me more aware how precious our NHS in the UK is
Yes! The news I've been wanting to hear! 😊
Oh, so sorry about the death of your friend. How sad. It's no gaurantee that a hemet will save a life, But they certainly do help.
Have you heard of caring bridge? That was a really easy way to get information out to everyone. And then, we would just post the link on social media.
Laughter is such good medicine!
Well, that’s probably the most extreme product testing I’ve ever seen! Glad to see you’re up and about again.
Thank GOD LARRY IS OK! BLESSINGS AND PRAYING FOR A FULL AND SPEEDY RECOVERY 💕
Prayer warriors are the best! ❤
Attitude is so crucial. You are abounding and getting better every single day. Praise God for His goodness.
If you don't already have it, home care nursing can help with physical therapy and med help at home!! It is a calling. We love what we do. Blessings for recovery, Larry!
So glad to see your smiling face.
That helmet! That saved Larry's life (And prayer.) But ,the helmet is everything. Thank God he was wearing it. I was so happy to see you both tonight.
Respect to the medical staff ❤
❤👏🏻👍Praise God for Larry’s recovery. 🙏🏼🙏🏼Good info you passed along!
