- A compilation of various Dog Stories by James Herriot.
!!! There is a 4 second quiet part at the very beginning since UA-cam removed the music section !!!!
James Herriot's Dog Stories celebrates the unconditional, loving friendships between people and dogs.
In this very special, heart-warming collection of favorite stories about dogs great and small, James Herriot tells us about his own dogs and all the wonderful people and animals we have come to love so much.
Fifty memorable tales move us to both laughter and tears, and Herriot's personal introduction and notes make this tribute by a master storyteller to man's best friend a book to read, reread, and be treasured for years to come.
This enchanting program collects some of the Yorkshire vet's favorite stories about one of his favorite animals, each tale as memorable and heartwarming as the last. Christopher Timothy, the star of television's All Creatures Great and Small, and acknowledged "voice" of Dr. Herriot, lovingly narrates this new collection of the good doctor's canine encounters.
Here are tales of golden retrievers and sheepdogs, beagles and dachshunds, purebreds and crossbreeds, and just plain mutts - and, of course, Tricki Woo, Mrs. Pumphrey's memorable Pekinese. Each tale is suffused with the humor, wisdom and humanity of one of the greatest storytellers of our time: James Herriot. - Розваги
Thank you.
This reading of Herriot is superb.
The reader has a wonderfully versatile style, and the emotions inherent in the text are beautifully delivered.
A large dose of nostalgia has hit me, longing for a place and time so well portrayed.
Simply loved this! Thank you.
Alf Wight was the most wonderful story teller 😊

I think they are all from previous books. But great to hear them all in one place, thank you
Yes Helen, you are right, this is a "dog" compilation. :)
Sound problem at the beginning but still worth a listen
Wonderful, this is one of the few James Herriot books I haven't read so many thanks as always. BTW - there is an audio cut from 0:41-1:27 It's not essential but thought I'd give you the heads up.
Yes there are audio cuts, but SO wonderful to be able to listen yet again.
Sorry, it was taken out by UA-cam for copyright claim
@@lucheel No worries, a small sacrifice to the copyright gods is better than its entire removal! Loved Part one! Many thanks as always.
Coyright claim? So there was music. Stop trying to interfere in the story process. It's clumsy verging on dopey.
@@user-ox5cc1hj1yhe didn't put the music there... it's from a bbc recording
I thought he did a version of cat stories ... but i cannot find it anywhere . Can anyone help please
Thank you You Tube. Music OUT.
Good Reader but waaay to fast. Mr. Herriot with his gentle character would have never spoken like that.
Thank you for making it possible to listen to these fascinating stories.
Adjust the speed just under each video.
@@user-ox5cc1hj1y I know. I did. Thanks.
You think the narration was FAST?
yes, and he should have a Scottish accent , never understood why they didn't cast a Scot in the TV series, when I first read the books a Scots accent is what I heard.
God is near 22:54
