Did you ever read Robert E Howard`s stories about the Crusades?
He doesn`t idealize the Saracens, except a little bit of Saladin worship. He`s usually on the side of the Crusaders.

Also, I know that you specialize Crusade history which involves the Catholic faith but my question is what are your views on Judaism and Islam during this time in our history.

to study the crusades , especially the albigensian crusade it is important ot understand the wool trade of the cistercian monks ...the porvence had traditionally connections with teh north african ports and traded with new technology like the hindu maths as oppposed to roman abacus ..
ALBIgensian crusade was a ROMAN sponsored (venetian) corporate takeover of the wool trade that was hurrting the venetian one set up from teh shores of england , flemish traders , veneitan future contract financing ...the cistercians could not support teh growing debt createed by teh future advances of the venetians..

the comment string starting at 13:06 has an analogue in this obamamerica... we all want to believe in our righteousness but luckily God reminds us that our righteousness is nothing but dirty rags before him.
