Hi,its good to see my oun Island,I m home sick now,but dont worry,i can handle it,...:)...I used to drive, take that short cut road...:)...Thanks for Shareing....Happy Holiday.
Hi velvetstar,it's wonderful to travel in Pohnpei and enjoy the life.I have just found that there were only a small watermelon and several green peppers in the kitchen. So I guess that it is a little difficult and incovenient for foreigners to buy fruits and vegetables. I will go to Micronesia with my friend next month.Dear velvetstar,Could you give me some information and discussion about local fruits and vegetables? Thanks for your kindness.Looking forward to your reply.
There are some markets around. But, the selection was not the best. Every 3 weeks or so a shipping container would arrive with cabbage, onions, potatoes to stock the grocery stores. At the grocery stores, you could buy longan, breadfruit, coconuts, pineapples, bananas, calamansi etc. But, I definitely missed things like tomatoes and lettuce.
Haha!!! You're welcome. Yes, my ex-husband and I made these videos originally for our families. I shipped that garlic from the states. I never had a chanc to visit Kosrae. I heard the people are nice there but there is less to do socially. Well, Hawaii is a bit of a step nicer than the FSM. I didn't have cable, nor internet at home. The power would go out. There would be water shortages. Electric would run me over $20 per day just to run one a.c. unit!!! Thanks for your comment.

It was a great experience being there but it is definitely wonderful to be back on the mainland.

Marsha, Thx for sharing your video. Did you have a good time overall? What were the pluses and minuses?

Why did you move over to Micronesia?
I took a job with Congress as an Attorney.
So did you learn how to speak Pohnpeian language,or at least learned to say some simple words while you were there?
Of course, it is the only respectful thing to do although the culture was a little closed off to foreigners.
