Warning: In this video, I pronounce Viola Davis's name completely wrong SEVERAL times. Also, just to be clear...I know putting yourself "out there" means you are fair game for reactions, commentary and analyzation. However, the amount of content created responding and reacting to me is overwhelming. And the amount of people online who seem to be fans of it because they feel the same way is disheartening. And, as I am not a celebrity, I have not committed a crime, and my youtube channel is very new, the amount of anit-me content seems excessive. So yeah, I know it's technically...fair, but that doesn't make it easier to accept.

I think you hit the nail on the head……….You can not be somewhere “in the middle” regarding anything anymore be it politics……..religious views……….or content regarding dating and/or male female relationships. As a you tuber or on any other social media platform if you are not creating content that is either on the side of “the manosphere” or “all men are trash” then you kind of get lost in the void of interesting but not noteworthy content.
The more extreme and voracious the commentary the more likes and/or views said content will receive.
That said you are not being honest with yourself if you really think you are somewhere in the middle of the whole modern day “battle of the sexes” that is going on all over social media. Your content is definitely geared closer to the “men are trash” content than anything else.
I personally don’t agree with most of the opinions expressed in your videos. Starting with this whole notion that somehow your life would be magically better if only you had “pretty privilege” has rubbed me up the wrong way to see the least.
That said I think you are interesting and engaging which is probably the main reason why I subscribed and will continue to watch your videos. Not to bash you but to see how your mindset and content changes over time and will your perceptions about relationships change or will they get worse and become more jaded.

And yes, a Content Creator is asking for feedback or they wouldn't make their comments public (they would turn comments off). If a comment is problematic then it gets reported and removed. This was the place we could come to without feeling pressured to be anything but ourselves. This is the place you could come to to breathe a sigh of relief and forget about your worries in the world for a while because everyone here understood each other. I don't understand why we are so disrespected, but seeing how women respond to you on your own platform, and how quickly you gained a solid following, you do have an audience and people need spaces like this. Often I'd helped these people during their worst times, when they'd been dumped or made unemployed or admitted they were alcoholic. I listened, cared about them supported and advised them. Once their lives improved they looked back on me with disdain. A lot of people seem to hate people who are struggling but like you said, they love to hear the struggle story once the person makes it.

Same. The social media personality/influencer life seems tempting (self employment, potential to make alot of money) but I don't think i can do it. It seems exhausting. Dealing with negative feedback, the need to present in the most aesthetically pleasing way. Giving people what they want whatever that is. Tiresome.

A lot of people wish they could be as vulnerable as you. And that’s the honest truth. Are you a water sign? I ask because SZA is a water sign and her CTRL album was extremely vulnerable. She talked about things that I (and plenty of other women) went through but were too ashamed to admit it. I say all that to say that your channel reminds me of the CTRL album. You’re taking control over your life, while being vulnerable … all the while accepting things for what it is and knowing that things will get better. SZA got LOTS of judgement for the lyrics on the album. But it was the truth! It was her truth! She was being herself and being vulnerable. If no one is vibe’n with you, they don’t have to watch. I know it’s easier said than done- but ignore them. Forget them. They don’t matter. 💕

I’m admittingly ignorant to a lot of the social inequalities that black women sadly face. When I heard you talk about the second point of why you’ll never be the next big hit Storytime teller on UA-cam, it really opened my eyes and broke my heart.
I’m here for the content; all of it. I’m here to laugh and cry at the entertaining stories you tell (because you’re a damn good storyteller) but I inadvertently learn a lot about the black woman experience through your videos. I just wanted to say thank you. It’s a tremendously unfair and unjust system for Black women and I feel like your videos are really good at exposing that. As a Mexican woman, I grew up thinking that all minorities were equally socially disadvantaged but now I know that is not true.

Think of ways to created content that is geared toward the folks who support you. Because we want to see and hear you! ❤️ You can do this. Steph, I appreciate your voice. Your vulnerability, transparency, growing pains, wisdom, disappointments, heartbreaks, candidness, storytelling, humor, self-discovery. I appreciate that you've obviously lived a very successful interesting life, and yet you choose to lead with vulnerable, sometimes less than flattering experiences that you've been through for the purpose of connecting and starting those conversations that are "embarrassing" or "we don't talk about that" with a wider platform. As many subscribers and viewers have already said, I find it refreshing. Everyone is always walking around with their carefully curated egos of what they do, what they have, who they're with, and it's increasingly more difficult and frustrating and lonely to feel like everyone is plugged into this video game that you don't want to play anymore. Life isn't about neat on paper, linear milestones where one size fits all and if you can't conform or perform adequately, you're a failure unworthy of love. I love that through UA-cam, I can see that there are people who are grappling with and enduring through their own hardships, some shared, others completely their own, AND IT'S OKAY! Pretending like we have it all together or that anyone actually knows what they're doing is bs. Your voice counts for three hundred of those voices that want to blend in and appear like everyone else. Thank you for being who you are and being *where you are* and having the courage to post that online💖💕

Keep doing what you doing... you’re rising through the ranks. I love how hard you love and it makes a person like me (someone who’s very emotionally... stiff) want to go towards being more vulnerable. I think for some your initial stories were so heavy and jarring that it was easier to be upset than compassionate. As I’ve consumed more of your content I got the quirk in you, and though the stories have me clenching my jaw at times I’m not sad for you; just hopeful you’ll get the love that’ll overfill you🤞🏾👍🏾

Oh girl i done learned the hard way not to search my name on YT or anywhere else. I also have learned the hard way not to watch negative content/reaction videos of content creators I’m subscribed too. I enjoy being vulnerable and loving content creators and don’t want that ruined by anyone.
