- Today we noticed one of the worst ever G4S Vans we have ever seen.
Lots of Rust, Insulation visable, trims hanging off and worst of all the keys where in the ignition.
A few locals didnt like the camera but the driver seemed to realise his mistake so we didnt report it.
We show how the DVLA shows no MOT details held for this vehicle which is a concern.

This van failed its MOT 22 Jan 2020 for steering then on the same day the new MOT put the steering as advisory so that would have been a DODGY MOT the current MOT 30 APRIL 2020 pass expiry date 30 APRIL 2022 the driver is not exempt from the law section 244 you shouldn't park on the pavement also section 72 of the Highways act of 1835 it is an offence to drive on the pavement

Advise is shouldn't park on the pavement but it's not law outside London. He wasn't impeding pedestrians from traveling on the pavement as its quite wide. He was however parked on a single yellow line but we were not shown any sign about the restrictions of that yellow line but I suspect its probably no parking from 8am to 6pm.
Why does it have a 2 year MOT?

G4S making millions and millions of pounds profit, much of that from the public purse, yet letting their drivers drive around in scrap heap vans that could cause serious harm to the public. Unacceptable.
And clowns like the van man and Pink Karen thinking this is acceptable for a company which screws the taxpayer for billions. I do despair.

@@RyanPhallen Actually if someone get injured and gets rust in their blood can be quite severe. I personally have a high risk of that due to a health condition per example.

I'd expect nothing less from G4S! They were known as Group 4 Security back in the day but changed their name as they had the nasty habit of "losing" prisoners! Their staff were known not to be the brightest, either. Good to see that nothing has changed.

Looking at the rot on this van, it could never have passed an MOT in the last 12 months. This van needs to be taken off the road immediately.
None of that rot affects the structural integrity of the vehicle, so is not even testable on an MOT.
@@surferdave364 They are only at the tester's discretion; they are not automatic fails, for example like a non-working mandatory light out.

I reiterate; there is nothing in the tester's manual that would make that vehicle an automatic fail.
to be fair it says "no details held" but it is still in poor condition and a builders van in that state would be taken off the road by the cops

Fuck my eyes, no wonder G4S has its reputation for being such a professional, responsible and accountable business. Thank you for filming this and to Michael Burke for looking up the MOT info. Is this vehicle street legal now? Has the driver passed his/her driving test since this was filmed? Shame really as, as a gardener, I could use an old banger of a van like this to ferry my lawnmower around in, rather than it being used to transport thousands of pounds worth of people's cash. Incidentally, wtf is a 'spill specialist'?

I personally think you are a nightmare, what business is it of yours to record a man doing his work, regardless of leaving the keys in the ignition or not, it’s an armoured vehicle with slam locks and dead locks meaning no one can force their way into it without standing there with the correct equipment to get into it, windows can’t be smashed, doors can’t be pried and so on. The van is a 5 ton van which is mot exempt, subject to a mandatory 6 week recorded check, meaning anything picked up on is sorted there and then, as for the rust, it’s a 15 year old van which is out working every day, regardless whether you think it’s dangerous or not, it’s not, it’s not structural so even on an mot it couldn’t be failed, there’s nothing in the manual to tell a tester that that needs failing due to corrosion

Absolutely awesome audit, and it's not about 'touching' other people's property, but highlighting the discrepancies of failed MOT corruption in this country.
I had a miniscule chip on my front windscreen, not obstructing driver's view, yet was compelled to have it fixed before they allowed it to pass MOT.

You know nothing of the security systems these vans are equipped with, if you did you would know having the keys in the ignition is completely irrelevant. It’s not the drivers fault G4S gave him a shitty van for the day. These vans cost almost 100k a piece, so ain’t surprised big companies want there money worth out of it.
Actually, the vehicle keys are allowed to be in the vehicles with the engine running as you can’t gain access into them anyway

Keys in the ignition isn’t too bad in that van tbh. The van is securely locked so you cannot access the drivers area.

If this vehicle has no Mot it is not insured as far as I know as having insurance keeping up maintenance and certificate is one of the main things that is required. The driver should get 6 points if that is the case as the driver of the vehicle is responsible for at point of driving.

Having no MOT has no effect on the validity of third party insurance liability.
An insurer may decline a claim for damage to the insured vehicle if it's unroadworthy.
@@conkers66 That is untrue. An insurer may decline to pay for the repairs to the insured vehicle if it can be shown that a defect was wholly or partially responsible, but CANNOT decline the third party part of the claim.
In the same way, if you have an accident whilst over the legal drink/drive limit, an insurer will not cover your costs, but is obligated in law to pay out any third party claim.
Leaving the keys in is fine and is standard procedure report away lol, in summer they are left running to keep the ac running as they get like an oven and obvs windows don’t open
Due to the security threats posed during cash collections and deliveries, vehicles are fitted with a range of security technology, some of which require a power supply. In the past, this meant the engine had to remain on when the vehicle was stationary in a public location, however many vehicles have now been fitted with solar panels which provide continuous power when idling and reduce the need to keep the engine running. Some vehicles are yet to be fitted.
How do you expect someone to steal it if they can’t gain access to the van? They are exempt from parking restrictions, they park as close to where they are carrying out business for there own safety I think that’s fair enough

* To be real, we are not perfect in NZ, it might get stolen, but if left in the door say, your just as likely to get someone knocking on your door to let you know, or just pulling them out popping them on the floor in the car out of sight and closing the door.

We should be interested if the vehicle has no MOT or is not roadworthy. We all pay through what we purchase in shops, using cash machines and through bank charges for Cash In Transit services, so I'm interested that it's not being done professionally.
How does one man with a camera cause alarm and distress to people in the vicinity? If anyone should have been alarmed or distressed it should have been the CIT driver and he didn't seemed bothered at all. Perhaps watch a few less cop shows.
@LargeHands you are incorrect. It is the drivers responsibility to make sure the van is in a roadworthy condition before he accepted to drive it. He said he had to keep the van idling so the electrics didn't die so faulty battery or alternator? Whatever. The company should not be putting vans like that on the road but the driver also can say no I will not drive that van. I mean how hard would it have been to steal that then 😂😂🤷♂️

In a previous occupation I attended the aftermath of stabbings, fights, assaults', road traffic collisions, bodies on railway tracks, or rather pieces of bodies on railway tracks.
Auditors do a very worthwhile service to all those people in this country who do not wish to see their rights reduced further, regarding the freedom to photograph or film unhindered in public.
As I stated before, the only person who should have been concerned regarding the possibility of an armed robbery should have been the CIT Driver, who appeared by his demeanor and actions, not to be bothered. Had he been bothered, he would have locked himself in the van and summoned the local constabulary.

Those vans are fitted with a secondary locking system which is more resilient than the OEM system so keys in the ignition makes absolutely no difference. Nobody will be able to open the van anyway. Even if they would they would not be able to drive off due to the lack of fingerprint and secondary login in the back airlock.... Report all you want. The police won't do anything.

I'm from New Zealand, you will never see vans like that from any company, with that rust you cant get a WOF (Warrant of fitness) and no WOF means you cant get a REGO (Road use license).
Using a vehicle without either will get fines issued to the company and/or driver depending on who is issuing them. Traffic management will ticket them for being on yellow lines just like that.
If someone walked by and got scraped by the rust, and goes to the doctor with it, it's an ACC (Accident compensation corporation) injury, and ACC raises the company levies (a mile).
The rusty cars are left for the public in NZ, many of whom use polluting 15 year old cars to get around.

I was just pointing out that there are probably more very old cars in NZ than most developed countries - even if commercial vehicles need certain standards. It just appears to be a way of life to use old Japanese cars.

@@DaveCarterAL my original response clearly stated that a large number of public vehicles (cars) are old. My second response then stated there are more old cars in NZ than most developed countries. May I suggest you avoid such conflict orientated language and try and accept common facts? The NZ import standards (or lack thereof in respect of fuel economy) have resulted in a huge number of old cars, many of which are poor in standard and polluting. If you disagree with that fact, i would question your motives or reasons. If you truly believe a warrant of fitness is anything over and above a typical MoT in England, then I'd be interested as to why. This van does not have a MoT, and is clearly not road worthy.

The DVLA have NO MOT Details on file but the Gov says it passed one in April.
Chances are they maintain them privately and this should be reported as it clearly isn't being maintained, they could lose their Service licence.
You will not find any details of police vehicles or security/ cash vans on the DVLA site

@@ThatGoth I know that all G4S vans are tested at my local test centre, having said that it is a government MOT test centre, another strange thing is that if failed and passed its test on the same date in 2020 with the same test reference numbers for both the fail and pass.

@@ThatGoth I reckon so, probably carrying out their own tests given the size of their fleet, sadly I have no option but to have a government test which can sometimes be a bit of overkill , failing the cars for tiny little things but there is no way that van would have passed a government test, it would have been impounded in that condition.

thats why we gone cashless all the drivers gone home due to Brexit so no money being moved around as no cheap drivers
not only does it not have a valid mot it is also sorn and shouldnt even be on the road in the first place im a trade plate driver and i have an app on my phone that allows me to check any vehicle to see if they have an mot if no mot its not getting moved simple my trade plates tell the police 2 things im covered on insurance incase the cars reg comes up on thier anpr as no insurance and the second thing they tell the police is that the road tax is covered again if it flashes up on thier anpr what trade plates do not cover and never have covered is the mot for a vehicle to be driven on trade plates that vehicle must have a valid mot the only exemption is if that vehicle is going straight to a prebooked mot centre to be examined or back from one to be repaired ready for re.examination that is the only exemption g4s cannot get away with saying it was on its way to be moted as they were using it for business so in this case thiers no tax no mot and thierfore no insurance either 6 points no insurance straight away and a 200 quid fine for the driver probably another 3 points for no mot and most likely another 3 points for no tax plus what ever they fine him or her for the no mot or tax so that van would cost the driver an automatic ban on points alone
