First time I filmed for best of the west had the same thing happen to me, except when he was literally like 3 ft from me and let out a mountain shaking dominate bull elk bugle that I could feel vibrating in my chest! Never forget that day!!
Well Mr. 4 timer that was epic my friend !! It pays to just go and get some boots on the ground and explore, find that water and stay with the sign. My heart was pounding and I swear I could feel those bugles in my soul just like you were. When you've been there and had them just scream in your face like that, it just changes ya. Great little recon, I'm pumped for the next episode. Hopefully I'll see ya around the mats here shortly in 2 weeks. You guys are a great team and doing awesome this year! Llew
Holy moly. That is so insanely close and to be able to catch it on video! The whole time I was like “there’s no way he doesn’t see him. There’s no way.” And he just kept coming.
I am not kidding you. That was pretty damn cool. "I could have reached out and touched him." I felt it well before you said it. I was laughing and whispering myself! I like that.
That was so awesome. Great job Matt. Wish you would have had a bow in your hand. I have a feeling that a bull is going to hit the ground. Can’t wait for the next video. Gotta wait a few more days. Thanks for taking us along. Take care, see ya :)
Heck yeah guys that was a great hunt with some awesome footage, can’t imagine being that close to a bull. Way to keep it together to capture it all on video. Awesome job y’all!
Great video! I love y'all's channel.... I dream of hunting elk... literally!!!...can't wait for the day I get to experience it!...lord willing, it'll be soon! Much love from NC!
I’m not that guy, but since I recently learned this myself I thought I share it. Leaves change color due to amount of sunlight. Weather and temperature has very little if nothing to do with them starting to change. I always thought it was both, but my new neighbor is a botanist and I was promptly corrected lol.
What did it feel like having a bull walk straight at you without a bow in your hand Matt? Not able to grab a OTC tag or no luck drawing a tag for that unit? I don't know much about elk hunting and I love all your footage. Is the elk rut kind of like the whitetail rut here in midwest where a warm trend can push back the rut a week or two?
I restarted at 37:00 multiple times, awesome video Hush Team!
My heart was pumping... Matt, you must have been so pumped.
Matt, that was AWESOME man! Had my heart pumping for you. Can't wait to see the follow up.
Absolutely INSANE!!! My heart was pumping the whole time that Bull was coming up wooooo!!!!! Got my adrenaline pumping still!
Matt has been an awesome addition to the team you can tell his love for this stuff by how excited he gets.
First time I filmed for best of the west had the same thing happen to me, except when he was literally like 3 ft from me and let out a mountain shaking dominate bull elk bugle that I could feel vibrating in my chest! Never forget that day!!
I found myself holding my breath as that bull was coming in. excellent footage! well done!
Great hunt so far. And for someone to pack you guys in for a drop camp. What a blessing. Hopefully you can find them again.
Awesome footage guys. So many times you think the rut is not happening but keep following the sign and bam they show up out of nowhere it seems.

Nerves of steel, Matt! That's a big dangerous animal at 3 feet!
Thoroughly enjoyed that up close and personal encounter with the bull. Fingers crossed!
Awesome job, Matt!

I am not kidding you. That was pretty damn cool. "I could have reached out and touched him." I felt it well before you said it. I was laughing and whispering myself! I like that.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was hilarious! That bull didn't even spook that bad. The sun was at your back, so he probably doesn't have a clue what he saw.
Matt hit the jackpot! Looking forward to seeing your next video..
Awesome Matt beautiful bull and call in you should have had a tag in your pocket and a bow. .

38:07 "it was at this moment he knew he f'd up" meme insert
Cant wait to see the rest of the hunt! One of the coolest interactions with a wild elk I've seen.
Yeah Buddy! Keep Killin' It the content has been awesome! That last elk hunt from a tree stand/saddle was super cool would love to see more like that!
That was so awesome. Great job Matt. Wish you would have had a bow in your hand. I have a feeling that a bull is going to hit the ground. Can’t wait for the next video. Gotta wait a few more days. Thanks for taking us along. Take care, see ya :)

That’s some un real footage right there awesome job Matt!! Now you just have to do that again when Eric‘s there with a bow!😆 Awesome video!
That was cool! My heart was pumping. Can’t imagine being that close.
Definitely a feeling that’s tough to duplicate!

Looks like a fun day!
Awesome season so far
Awesome encounter.
Awesome. Thanks!
I have to say that watching these videos gets me so ready for my PA deer hunting this weekend. The country is not as pretty as where they are hunting.
So cool!
That was awesome
Definitely in the game!!! 🤞🏽

Matt needs a tag in his back pocket
Damn!!! He was like wtf is this weird tree here now?
Hey Matt. Sweet hunt.
Can you do a review on that camper tent.
Dude that was sweet!
so awesome great video

Holy shit that was awesome!
What an exciting time. Keep up the great content! 100th comment btw
I must have missed something, why didn't Matt shoot when that Bull was so close.?
Nice luck tomorrow
My wife hates it when I call bulls in that close i love it
Anyone know what tripod/monopod they were using?
Ifootage monopod
Do you wanna know what a better tent would be A Roman home, these tents are way better than your casual hunting tent and easy to set up
I’m curious what is the brand of pack that u have?
Biggest fan sense day 1
OTC or draw tag hunt?
That is so dig
I thought I was playing with a hunter this year and called in a good bull.
That wasn't tense how come you don't have your bow
About how much to drop a spike camp $$$
Close encounters of the 1st kind.
Horse fly. They bite.
Talk about up close and personal!! Could’ve stabbed him with an arrow..lol. Unreal encounter Matt!!
Matt was right. Should have worked your way up the canyon.
Who is Matt and what happened to Martin?
Are you the only one that is posting on HUSH
Adiós hermano
Too close?.....Didn't have a rope or any salt for his tail...
As rough as it was hunting in Colorado with the moon and the heat. I'd smoked that bull!
All these years and Erick still doesn’t know how to wear a pack lol
jungle? that isn't a jungle, you should try western Washington and Oregon.
Typical, the guy without the tag could’ve spit on the bull and the hunter is wishing he would’ve stayed at camp
Another 2 1/2 month old video? 🤔 Hmmm ……..
