BRICS is not a militaristic alliance, these countries are only economically aligned, but even though it is not a military alliance, it is in each of their interests to keep each other alive.

Cynical asfuck I know India has had close ties with Russia and has for a while but I too doubt India would go against the US because India and the US have been gaining a better relationship. And they really would have very little interest to get involved because they would have little to gain and a lot to lose.

India has remonitized under Modi which is insane. China dumped 4 Trillion into stock market, it collapsed anyway. The way Trump is going, you won't have a NATO to call upon after a couple of years. Although, I do believe the NATO will have an upper hand over BRICS purely based on its superior technology and past experiences as a team. Plus, BRICS is just an economic arrangement, two of the three most powerful BRICS countries don't see eye to eye and are themselves nearing a stand off in the Doklam region. I can't imagine a strategic cooperation between China and India in the near future so long as China continues to arm and finance Pakistan.

Given that the USA is the only nation in the world with the ability to transport troops in vast quantities- I question how these people would even Get to America, let alone fight battles against vastly superior technology. Sure, we fumble about without much of an end game when we are fighting abroad- but we'd lay waste to every nation attacking us on our own soil- we've got weapons that we barely talk about. So...ICBMs....Maybe if all of the other nations on Earth hit us simultaneously with thousands of warheads, a few might get through our multi-layered defenses. Our retaliatory strike, on the other hand...well, the USA would have a few spots of radiation. BRICS...except for Russia, which Also has a pretty good ABM system, would be totally depopulated- and be glowing in the dark for thousands of years.
But...why would BRICS even attack the USA? Russia and China hate one another with a deep seated passion. For that matter, South Africa and Brazil are not even world powers, militarily speaking. You're not taking into account the fact that wages in the US are 4 times that of India, 2 times that of Russia. So is it's steel production. India produces stuff at nearly 1/4th that of the US, with a cost of living 1/4 that of the US. Meaning India's $55 bn is actually $220 bn if spent on US soil. Russia and China are the same..

Plus lots of Brazilians have actual family and friends living in the US. If the USA tanked as a regional power it would hurt Brazils and the regions economy(but same is true if China went down as well). Only Russia and China could possibly see the fall of the US being a beneficial thing. Brazil and India would most likely stay Neutral, and I am inclined to believe India could view siding the the USA as a well to consolidate regional power from China.
