The Chainsaw Man figures that went up for pre-order recently got me in a bit of a tizzy. No real surprise from Estream. Their Denji is as amazing looking as it is sickeningly expensive. However, I laughed out loud seeing what FuRyu came out with. 35k yen for a 1/7 scale! They are 1000% taking advantage of the fact that this is the first scale of Power on the market. And it's nowhere near worth that price. Maybe half that to be honest. As much as I like Pochita, that full size figure is absurd. On all fronts.

I was willing to pick both nendo’s up even though it’s Toytec because it’s one of the few pieces of Fruits Basket merch we’ll ever get, but when I saw the price…nah ah. Toytec must be on something if they think they can charge that much. I’ll probably only get Kyo, but I’m so mad and endlessly disappointed. Also, what I AM very excited about is the Rei! It might be that they don't think they'll sell a lot of Rimuru bunnies and are increasing the price per unit accordingly. I mean when you sell stuff, you either make your money with a lot of sales at a lower margin, or a smaller number at a much higher margin.

Honestly I’m at the point where the prices are putting me off, especially when very few figures have given me the WOW factor lately that make me super excited. I preordered the Astrum Design one on taobao as she’s about 17-18k yen equivalent in there as I love her design and she’d likely work well with some other figures I have, but I’ve definitely not been ordering many compared to how much I used to months ago. I have a few on my wishlist I really hope I’ll be able to get, but with my space almost filled up now that’s it. I think the one recently that was most upsetting for me was Belial from GrabBlue fantasy - mostly because I am actually almost willing to pay the price but trying to get him as he’s an event exclusive is awful 😭

Persona 5 is hands down my favorite game I've ever played. The story. The style. The characters. It's perfect. It's playable anime is the best way I can describe it. (There is an anime but it doesn't do the story justice if it's the first thing you are consuming P5 it is a great way to relive the story without having to go back and put 100 hours into a the game) I can't wait to hear what you think of it! There is a scandal happening about the quality of the Ichihara Yuko figure by emontoys that they displayed at this wonderfestival. Because I preordered her, I have a headache and stomach pain now because of the disappointment and nervousness. I even contacted emontoys (waiting for their answer... if they choose to give me one). The others on myfigurecollection that wanted her seem to feel the same.
I pre-ordered Loid Forger because I was just so thrilled about actually having 1. a male figure 2. a scale SxF figure haha-- in hindsight, I should've waited since I bought him off TOM and can't cancel, but I'm holding out hope he'll look better in person. The only thing I'm glad about absolutely hating this Loid, is that now I'm not forcing myself to pay FuRyu pricing. (I'm also hoping that since a lot of people hate this one, he'll tank in price after release. Look I hate how it turned out, but if it's cheap, I'll cop him, cuz at the end of the day, he's still Loid lmao). As a person whose never watched fruits baskets fully but have seen clips , I see the appeal for both characters. I do like that kyo expresses but I'm not into the tsudere boy type . Yuki I like his aura but wished he was more expressive.
If you ever get the time try to watch the Slime anime series. The 1st season is surprisingly good, even uplifting: world-building where everyone involved, especially the down-trodden, get treated equitably, learn from it, become givers to the community rather than victims, takers, abusers. I especially like the Orcs. Where it slips somewhat later on imho is too many episodes dedicated to Slime being an educator to a select group of children, yawn. Mio Blue: still on the fence about her mainly account Native's questionable reliance on JapanPost EMS shipping items out during the never ending global pandemic shell game saga. Got till August to commit...or not. K-ON set of 5 still commanding the big bucks: Wow, makes me regret selling mine off a few years ago. (I did OK but it's become a fine line determining what a fair asking resell price should be). I actually haven't played royale, i played persona 5 and then literally royale came out and the difference is kasumi (and some plot ) lol so that was annoying, i never really played it. I'm considering getting it for the switch when it comes out though since it's been a while now.

I am a Yuki stan, but Kyo is 1000% the better match for Tohru romantically. (I stan both boys, tbh.) The way they went with Yuki and Tohru's relationship (the motherly route) makes complete sense given Yuki's lack of affection growing up and his confliction at being shown any level of real care. Machi makes sense for him, and I wish she didn't come in so late in the story. I don't know if I can forgive you for disliking him though.... (Kidding, of course. lol) And despite my love for Yuki, I won't be preordering his nendo. Maybe if he actually comes out well upon release I'll consider picking him up. The figure is Albedo Bikini Version 1/7 scale and retailed for around $620-670 USD (funnily enough in AUD that's even worse then the $800 I originally thought it was and actually closer to $1000 for us so yiiiikes) Apparently it was received pretty poorly by a lot of ppl too bc it looked so different to it's prototype, to which estream told buyers to just fix any issues themselves in a tweet. I've stopped collecting figures for a while now since there weren't any figures that really piqued my interest. But ive been keeping up to date with your channel and the fact that these absurd inflated prices are forced to become a "norm" for collectors is getting ridiculous. Im glad you speak out about this but also its just so sad to see that bunny figures or other 1/7 scales are reaching $300-500 USD that really don't have any crazy details and definitely not worth the price. But we dont have a choice if we want to have them in our collection because its pretty much guaranteed that after market price will always reach double the retail price. At this point I seriously think its going to start making anime collectors turn to Resin Statues because at least for their high prices that are literally the same as these new figures coming out, at least have tonnes of intriquite details and size that you can say is ACTUALLY worth the price. Like watching you trying so hard to justify the price of the slime bunny was tough to swallow.
Prices have gotten out of hand. I'm lucky to have entered into this hobby early on and built a large collection. Running out of display space is probably more the reason for not buying new figures.
"The ability to cancel". Maybe I've just been using amiami for too long, but I thought their very very old rules stated no cancellations, and if you do it like 3 times they will terminate your account. And I thought they might have given people a bit leeway with cancelling during covid, but that they would have gone back to their harsh "no cancellations" policies by now.
I try not to cancel anyway as I think it's unfair to the retailer. Reasons such as losing your job is something AmiAmi will take into consideration for canceling.
So I'm fairly new to figure collecting and I'm already having a problem not sure where else to turn. Bought a bunny figure from native and have been trying to use my credit card to pay for it but keeps telling me my credit cars cannot be used. I don't have nuch of a balance on my card I called them and was told that my card was working fine and to make sure the shipping address is the same name and everything as the card contacted credix and got told that my card the card has a limit or something and contacted native and was told to just try another card. I only got the one. Any help would be appreciated. Just don't know where else to get help

6:35 Rimuru was a guy when he was alive (before he got isekai-ed), then he got reborn as a genderless slime, then some day he ate a female friend who would die either way (or maybe she was already dead, I am not sure) and after that he could take human form, but just female or genderless (as in on purpose missing parts) because his body can only take the form of something he ate. This is him looking like that woman, but leaving away the boobs (closest he can come to a male human body at that point).

I was willing to pick both nendo’s up even though it’s Toytec because it’s one of the few pieces of Fruits Basket merch we’ll ever get, but when I saw the price…nah ah. Toytec must be on something if they think they can charge that much. I’ll probably only get Kyo, but I’m so mad and endlessly disappointed.
Also, what I AM very excited about is the Rei! She was an instant pre-order for me as well and I can’t wait to get her. She looks stunning!

It might be that they don't think they'll sell a lot of Rimuru bunnies and are increasing the price per unit accordingly. I mean when you sell stuff, you either make your money with a lot of sales at a lower margin, or a smaller number at a much higher margin.

Honestly I’m at the point where the prices are putting me off, especially when very few figures have given me the WOW factor lately that make me super excited. I preordered the Astrum Design one on taobao as she’s about 17-18k yen equivalent in there as I love her design and she’d likely work well with some other figures I have, but I’ve definitely not been ordering many compared to how much I used to months ago. I have a few on my wishlist I really hope I’ll be able to get, but with my space almost filled up now that’s it.
I think the one recently that was most upsetting for me was Belial from GrabBlue fantasy - mostly because I am actually almost willing to pay the price but trying to get him as he’s an event exclusive is awful 😭

Persona 5 is hands down my favorite game I've ever played. The story. The style. The characters. It's perfect. It's playable anime is the best way I can describe it. (There is an anime but it doesn't do the story justice if it's the first thing you are consuming P5 it is a great way to relive the story without having to go back and put 100 hours into a the game) I can't wait to hear what you think of it! There is a scandal happening about the quality of the Ichihara Yuko figure by emontoys that they displayed at this wonderfestival. Because I preordered her, I have a headache and stomach pain now because of the disappointment and nervousness. I even contacted emontoys (waiting for their answer... if they choose to give me one). The others on myfigurecollection that wanted her seem to feel the same.
I pre-ordered Loid Forger because I was just so thrilled about actually having 1. a male figure 2. a scale SxF figure haha-- in hindsight, I should've waited since I bought him off TOM and can't cancel, but I'm holding out hope he'll look better in person.
Completely and utterly agree with you on Yuki-- I LOVE Kyo and I desperately want his Nendo but something in me just can't... not with Toytech doing the nendos, the inflated prices, and seeing how lacklustre Yuki looks. These prices are insaneeeee.

I am so torn between wanting the Rimuru bunny to do exceedingly well so that maybe FREEing will be encouraged to do more male figures, and also not wanting to encourage this outrageous pricing... on the other hand, I ordered him the second he went up for pre-order so I am part of the problem either way.
I was so pissed at the Loid figure, I think his sitting prize figure has been the best one to get his face right, but still! The only thing I'm glad about absolutely hating this Loid, is that now I'm not forcing myself to pay FuRyu pricing. (I'm also hoping that since a lot of people hate this one, he'll tank in price after release. Look I hate how it turned out, but if it's cheap, I'll cop him, cuz at the end of the day, he's still Loid lmao).
I'm just hoping down the line GoodSmile will announce Loid along with their planned 1/7 Yor/Anya. Right now though, the PUPs of the full family are my only hope for a decent Loid and getting the Forgers an one unit.

hello Gwyn have you consider on buying or ordering a one big glass display ? since your figures are growing haha and also there's a cabinet that you can customize for modular options so if in case you have a big figure in the future you can just move the glass base

As a person whose never watched fruits baskets fully but have seen clips , I see the appeal for both characters. I do like that kyo expresses but I'm not into the tsudere boy type . Yuki I like his aura but wished he was more expressive.
If you ever get the time try to watch the Slime anime series. The 1st season is surprisingly good, even uplifting: world-building where everyone involved, especially the down-trodden, get treated equitably, learn from it, become givers to the community rather than victims, takers, abusers. I especially like the Orcs. Where it slips somewhat later on imho is too many episodes dedicated to Slime being an educator to a select group of children, yawn.

I was so tempted to get the Ax joker but I think i prefer the original, mostly because i have panther (or anna) already and she's all red. Also, definitely play persona! if you're into rpgs person 5 royale is coming out on the switch in october (it's already out on the ps if you prefer that system) and if you prefer more like an action less turnbase play person 5 strikers is the follow up (but you don't need to play person 5 really to get what's happening imo) and you can get that on the switch and ps .
I actually haven't played royale, i played persona 5 and then literally royale came out and the difference is kasumi (and some plot ) lol so that was annoying, i never really played it. I'm considering getting it for the switch when it comes out though since it's been a while now.

But I preordered her price figure where she's riding on the back of Bond anyway (in that figure her face seems off but fixable imo, but I just love the pose with Bond) 🥰 If I'd have the money I would decide for Anya+Bond resin statue where both wear sunglasses.

I am a Yuki stan, but Kyo is 1000% the better match for Tohru romantically. (I stan both boys, tbh.) The way they went with Yuki and Tohru's relationship (the motherly route) makes complete sense given Yuki's lack of affection growing up and his confliction at being shown any level of real care. Machi makes sense for him, and I wish she didn't come in so late in the story.
I don't know if I can forgive you for disliking him though.... (Kidding, of course. lol) And despite my love for Yuki, I won't be preordering his nendo. Maybe if he actually comes out well upon release I'll consider picking him up. But I can't forgive that combo of price + quality. -__-

@@Wonderhoy8 I went looking for the figure again out of curiousity and realised I got the pricing a little fcked up cause I was thinking of my currency (AUD) but it's still ridiculously insane. The figure is Albedo Bikini Version 1/7 scale and retailed for around $620-670 USD (funnily enough in AUD that's even worse then the $800 I originally thought it was and actually closer to $1000 for us so yiiiikes)
Apparently it was received pretty poorly by a lot of ppl too bc it looked so different to it's prototype, to which estream told buyers to just fix any issues themselves in a tweet. Never a good sign imo, gives off major early B'full vibes :/

I've stopped collecting figures for a while now since there weren't any figures that really piqued my interest. But ive been keeping up to date with your channel and the fact that these absurd inflated prices are forced to become a "norm" for collectors is getting ridiculous. Im glad you speak out about this but also its just so sad to see that bunny figures or other 1/7 scales are reaching $300-500 USD that really don't have any crazy details and definitely not worth the price. But we dont have a choice if we want to have them in our collection because its pretty much guaranteed that after market price will always reach double the retail price.
At this point I seriously think its going to start making anime collectors turn to Resin Statues because at least for their high prices that are literally the same as these new figures coming out, at least have tonnes of intriquite details and size that you can say is ACTUALLY worth the price. Like watching you trying so hard to justify the price of the slime bunny was tough to swallow.
Prices have gotten out of hand. I'm lucky to have entered into this hobby early on and built a large collection. Running out of display space is probably more the reason for not buying new figures.
"The ability to cancel". Maybe I've just been using amiami for too long, but I thought their very very old rules stated no cancellations, and if you do it like 3 times they will terminate your account.
And I thought they might have given people a bit leeway with cancelling during covid, but that they would have gone back to their harsh "no cancellations" policies by now.
I try not to cancel anyway as I think it's unfair to the retailer. Reasons such as losing your job is something AmiAmi will take into consideration for canceling.
So I'm fairly new to figure collecting and I'm already having a problem not sure where else to turn. Bought a bunny figure from native and have been trying to use my credit card to pay for it but keeps telling me my credit cars cannot be used. I don't have nuch of a balance on my card I called them and was told that my card was working fine and to make sure the shipping address is the same name and everything as the card contacted credix and got told that my card the card has a limit or something and contacted native and was told to just try another card. I only got the one. Any help would be appreciated. Just don't know where else to get help

6:35 Rimuru was a guy when he was alive (before he got isekai-ed), then he got reborn as a genderless slime, then some day he ate a female friend who would die either way (or maybe she was already dead, I am not sure) and after that he could take human form, but just female or genderless (as in on purpose missing parts) because his body can only take the form of something he ate. This is him looking like that woman, but leaving away the boobs (closest he can come to a male human body at that point).
